I don't get your point.....Goren was a goal scorer that was his role on the team. It just took a while to come to fruition. I think Skarperud had like 20 goals his senior season. He had more of an offensive upside than Porter. If Porter reaches 15 goals that would be an excellent season. Especially since I think he had about 7 this year. His physical play and penalty killing are valuable but he is not a real gifted offensive player.

Yeah, I agree. He doesn't exactly seem like a player's coach but then again the players may feel differently. He seems like a coach that is set in his ways and won't change for anybody. The Wild need more talent, I think they have done ok with the talent that has been on the roster. O'Sullivan better make the team next year. They need scoring. Jacques is not at all a fan of college hockey. That's enough to make me not care that much for him.

Man, we cannot afford to lose Sparky too. A team can only overcome so many defections. Losing Smaby, Zajac, Stafford and according to the rumor mill potentially Sparky is a LOT for a team to overcome and expect to have national championship aspirations.

That is extremely wishful thinking to think Porter is going to break out like Collins did. He does not have that kind of offensive potential. If he gets 15 goals that would be a great senior season. He is not really an offensive player but can score some goals by crashing the net.

Yeah well pretty soon with all these departures and potential departures they will be holding open tryouts for the Sioux hockey team next year....Toews ready for the NHL at age 18.....I don't think so he is not Crosby.

Yeah...I agree these rankings are a little too preliminary. A lot of things can happen between now and when practice starts in the fall. Players can say they are coming back but it seems that when an offer is made and on the table 9.5 times out of ten the player takes it and goes. It fills the players wallet but is bad for college hockey and sucks for the fans especially those like me who are huge fans of the college game but pay little attention to the NHL/AHL.

Yes, the Sioux did recruit Chucko.....I am pretty sure he came here on a visit. Not really a big loss for the Goofies. He was invisible most of the year last year. Maybe getting away from Blarney's will do him some good.

Exactly. He did a lot of the intangibles that a lot of casual fans don't see. Plus he was an excellent face-off guy and penalty killer. I thought we would get one more year but that is the way it goes. Hopefully Darcy can be a decent player but he will not fill the shoes of Travis. They are different type of players from what I hear. Does anyone know if Darcy has any potential to be drafted? I have not heard his name mentioned in regards to the draft.

Yeah should be another fun year. I was however REALLY hoping we could have kept Zajac. He would have been primed for a big year next year. Damn New Jersey@!@!!

I trust the coaches....plus the BADgers and Goofies were hard after him so it wasn't like this was his only option. May need some time to put on some mass but sounds like he will be an impact player

Agreed 100%. A national championship is one thing that money cannot buy.

Smaby will be next followed by Stafford. Those are some big shoes to fill. It is so frustrating as a Sioux fan. We had a chance to have a dominant team next year but the loss of our top center is a big loss. Especially since I think most people would have leaned toward him likely coming back for his junior year. Not too many players leave after two years, although with the new CBA who knows this will probably be a lot more common.

Smaby will need time in the AHL. He sure didn't look NHL ready when he got schooled by BC's Gerbe. We shall see.

That really stinks. Man I thought we would at least get 3 years out of Zajac. That really puts a hole in the roster for next year. I hate this time of year and I hate the Devils. Looks like we will need another center maybe two once Toews bolts.
