  1. that might be the quickest jump ship in history!! i didn't see or hear the game last night, and it sounds like i didn't miss much. it's early, lets hope the sioux turn it around.
  2. so how does minny not get the top recruiting class?? #1 forward and defenseman. i guess not deep enough? or maybe garth snow is doing the rankings, and feels lucia-pet will bring his top recruits down a notch or two
  3. sadly, i actually agree with gooferz here... i just doesn't make any sense whatsoever that the nc$$ should have any say in this. that being said, noone ever claimed the nc$$ has ever, or even half azzed tries to make sense.
  4. what a crock of s@*t! i can understand if we all put in money and were doing this fantasy league for a cash prize, but this is ridiculous. leave it to the nc$$ to focus on the important issues, such as shutting down fantasy leagues which are done for fun to bring wcha hockey fans together. oh well, it is what it is. my fantasy hockey name was probably hostile and abusive anyway, which would have been a double whammy thanks for trying az, too bad i didn't get the chance to experience wcha fantasy hockey, as i didn't do it last year. i guess sioux survivor will have to suffice for this season... i think another frozen four and national championship #8 would ease the sting too GO SIOUX!! suck it nc$$!!
  5. captain ryan duncan... i predict 30+ goals for the hobey winner this season, carrying the team to d.c.!! go sioux!!
  6. i believe martens is a walk on, and he was a solid contributor last season, hopefully that continues!
  7. is alfieri not commited? i have heard (not seen) he is a solid player. and is the dman hickey any relation to the la kings hickey? if so, does he play like thomas? a fast, smooth skating, puck moving dman... it is what everyone here thinks we need. it sure wouldn't hurt to have another guy on the blueline who can move like genoway or marto.
  8. even as a sioux fan... that's funny stuff
  9. im sure you are just trying to get a response from this post, which worked, otherwise you are truly dillusional, but there are plenty of players in the nhl who could "handle" downie quite easily. he is not the toughest player in the nhl, nor is he the best fighter. i have nothing against hard nosed players. the sioux have had plenty of them, currently and in the past. some players have trouble controlling their aggresion and keeping it clean. downie has showed that tendancy in the past. i hope he cleans up his act and plays a hard, clean game, as he could be a solid nhler who i would enjoy watching, but he's not off to a good start.
  10. re: downie. it was a cheap shot on mcammond, and the nhl apparently agreed as he got a lengthy suspension. mcammond missed a big chunk of time thanks to that cheap shot also. re: pauk. i don't care either, as long as he's not breaking other players necks and sending them off the ice on strechers. my point was that both of these players have a history of instability (mentally or otherwise) which seems to get carried onto the ice. downy cold cocked one of his canadian junior teammates during a practice, cross checks him in the face, gets suspended five games and has to undergo counseling. and as for pauk's rap sheet... convicted of sexually assulting a teen, one broken neck, and two opponents carried off the ice on a strecher due to a cheap shot, not a good start. don't get all bent out of shape because i used downie to prove my point. if he didn't wear a flyer jersey, you wouldn't be so quick to jump to defend him. i hope i am proven wrong and i never hear either of these guys' names mentioned in association with another players injury again, but i don't like the odds.
  11. hope the other guys is alright. he is still a punk like he was when he put bina into the boards. guys like him don't change. just like the downie kid from philly. if they are allowed to keep playing, one of those two will kill someone. both dirty punks who compensate getting outskilled and played by trying to hurt other players.
  12. i just voted multiple times, and think it must only count one as the percentages stayed the same. We're up 56% to 44% now.
  13. no sioux fan is going to argue with you that the last four frozen fours have been very dissapointing, but that doesn't all rest on hak. you've got to look at the guys who actually took to the ice, and the opponents we faced. having been in denver last year, i can tell you it was even more depressing being there in person, but you still cheer on the sioux, and be grateful we get to watch a team of this caliber year in and year out. i hope to get to see more frozen fours involving the sioux in the (near) future, and of course hope for a better effort and outcome. but i don't think hak should be drawn and quartered for those four performances, even though as the head coach, of course he shoulders the blame.
  14. azsioux has done a wcha fantasy league the past couple of years, but not sure if he will be doing it again?
  15. im not for the "ripping" of any of our players, but that does not mean they are immune to criticism. also, of course north dakotans are going to take pride in a homegrown product playing for our state's team, which happens to be one of the top in the nation year in and year out. it, once again, doesn't make him immune to criticism, but we may pull for him to succeed a little more than the average sioux. we're all sioux fans, and the majority of us root for all the sioux players, and there is nothing wrong with talking about the team's and/or player's play, good and bad, reguardless of where they are from. that is what this forum is for.
  16. im pretty sure he was kidding. if the tongue and smiley face didnt give it away, the absurdness of his sarcastic comments should have
  17. i agree with sica that it is a no-brainer that duncs wears the "c", he has earned it there are more than a few deserving candidates for the "a"... my gut says watkins and finley
  18. im not sure that is ironic? a goofer fan tripping in a gopher hole and being eaten alive by overgrown rabid gophers is more along the lines of irony. but it is rather amusing that a goofer fan trolls a fighting sioux board to patrol any goofer bashing.
  19. nice article about former roseau goalie mike lee. i know last year there was alot of talk on here that we should be going after him. looks like they were right. sounds like st. cloud found another blue chip goalie. does anyone know if we made an effort to go after him? or did having eidsness coming in this year deter him? http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&a...rticleid=379298
  20. i like your way of thinking. ill give you four of our tix for the bemidji game for just two of yours for the goofer series. even trade... four tix for four tix... all games being even pm me you info and we can send each other the tickets. GO SIOUX!!
  21. i think the april 11th game should be the sioux's best this year every weekend of hockey in the wcha is a good one, can't wait for the season to start!!
  22. toews is a stud! imagine what he could have done without all the clutching, grabbing, tackling that has been going on the past few years. i hope we see a change this year in the Wrangling Clutching Holding Anti-offense league this year, but with the same yahoos in charge, that is some wishful thinking i'm afraid.
  23. that seems to be your answer to anyone who doesn't have tj oshie talent he has a tough road to travel, and he may never make it back, but there is a reason he was a top 60 nhl draft pick. the talent is there. if he can stay clean and healthy, he could spend some significant time in the ahl this season, and develop into a puck moving nhler. he is fast, good with the puck, and aggresive. he is not big, and obviously he needs to get his head straight, but wish him the best even if he is an ex-goofer.
  24. i saw that too, what a joke. unfortunately i think this will become more and more common. anyone care to sum it up? im guessing the two of them did a charity hockey game or golf event or something to that effect in winnepeg.
  25. i by no means am a briggs fan, but he was alot more solid and consistent than long island frazee was U of M, and he is getting a shot. i understand frazee may have more talent when his head is in the right place, but briggs is a solid goaltender.
