Saw this in the Herald. Looks like you guys in ND have it made and should pass up California and Alaska for number 2 real soon. What I found really interesting was that ND was projecting to be a 1 million barrels a day by 2015 and now they are saying things are running ahead of the projections. Add in that Texas is at 1.1 million barrels a day and has had only a slight increase in the last 6 years. That means that it is very possible ND could pass Texas and be the number 1 oil producer in the nation someday. http://www.grandfork...icle/id/226190/

The thing is, it hurts our credibility a little by offering and then yanking after he accepted. I have no problem pulling an offer that hasn't been accepted because we can't wait forever but this wasn't the case. Rather like dumping your prom date after she says yes.

I lost faith in Jones years ago, but until the Mayville game I had thought this year was a definite improvement. They just seem so consistently inconsistent.

How long is Knight expected to be out? Or is a game by game decision? Kinda lost touch with things over the Holidays.

Now that he's not coming, what exactly did he say on Twitter? Seems no one wanted to divulge exactly what he was saying.

Yes, I realize it takes cash by the basketful to get a D1 school to GF, but we all knew what was coming when the D1 move was made. Everyone on top surely knew it was going to be a lot more costly to run the athletic dept. I sure would like to buy out the Mine game and bring in a quality opponent.

It would appear that Faison was directly responsible for the Mines game. I have been hoping the game would be bought out, but it certainly doesn't look like it will happen. Big question is, why was it ever scheduled? Surely, there had to be a D1 game out there somewhere.

But, the second petition is for a constitutional amendment, which, if passed, can't be ruled unconstitutional by the ND Supreme Court. The only way it could be overturned would be in Federal District Court or US Supreme Court and I can't even remotely fathom how the Fed would have jurisdiction in the case to even get involved. If these people get the 26,000+ signatures and it passes, then the troubles have only just begun.

What it needs to pass is 50%, plus one vote. I'm just hoping this dies a nice, quiet death. Actually, I've been hoping that for a long time because we have bigger issues to deal with.

The thing is, this is about the fifth drop dead date I've heard for MSUM hockey. The last one I heard of was October, and there have been numerous other dates in the last 2 years. I seriously doubt they can come up with the money. I think the biggest pushers of this are the area owners over in Fargo. They desperately need another tenant in the building.

One thing I don't understand is, why are these asshats in the current administration so opposed to the Keystone Pipeline? The pipeline in Alaska undergoes much more extreme conditions than anything would here in the lower 48 and technology is vastly better than it was in the mid 70's when the Alaska line was built.

Sounds like the Essential Air Service program might be on it's last legs. I read a while back it didn't have too many friends in Washington and really, how hard is it to just drive to Grand Forks or Fargo?

That's the very point I made earlier. I recall that President Edna was making all kinds of cuts anywhere she could, how the hell do they ever afford hockey? I think the latest deadline was Oct 2011. Well that's come and gone and MSUM has moved the drop dead deadline back quite often. The rest of Moorhead's sports are essentially D3 caliber, so I don't see them coming up with D1 hockey. BTW, didn't the NCAA make changes regarding teams playing up a division in some sports, such as hockey?

The thing is, the rest of the country has never heard of Minot. The other three have a little name recognition.
