  1. I do and so do my family and many of my friends.
  2. The Big Sky is growing on me but one counterpoint. I would guess our biggest alumni base outside of GF is in the Twin Cities. The Summit and MVFC make a lot more games accessible to those people. NDSU, SDSU, USD and UNI are all within 4 hours of the TC as is Sioux Falls for the Summit post season bb tourney. There are no schools in the Big Sky that are within driving distance of the TC.
  3. I just bought my 4 season tix for the playoff game. Let's fill that place up.
  4. It says they didn't have enough depth to handle the injuries they had and it's too bad they lost those first 6 games. If they had won two of them they would have deserved to be in the playoffs.
  5. I think it was homecoming.
  6. Our #7 seed really helps out NDSU with their future scheduling since they said they didn't want to play us because they want to play higher ranked FCS teams OOC. One more hurdle out of the way in getting to a regular meeting if we don't end up in the same conference. There are only 6 teams ranked between us now so that narrows down the pool.
  7. Bringing 5 from the twin cities. Couldn't get up there for the VB match but cheered like hell watching on eversport.
  8. It was 82. It is my favorite game because it was the fist game I got to play in. UNO was rated #1 in the country and we won 30-8. The field was a complete swamp and the cinder track was a moat. They put down pallets on the track so we could get across to the field. My favorite other three games would be the championship game we won, the Mooney steal game when we broke the streak and the Davis game.
  9. 28 points in the first 7 1/2 minutes. Wow
  10. I tried to watch the W&M and Richmond game but it was early in the 3rd qtr and I knew I would be an emotional wreck if I watched the rest of the game. I took my dog for a run instead. Great to come back on here and read the thread to see the result.
  11. I won't believe we get a bye unless/until I see it tomorrow. We have a long history of being slighted. I don't remember the details but the year we won a DII playoff game in Omaha I believe we were top two in region and looking at a bye going into the last weekend. We won and they still dropped us down and sent us on the road in the first round.
  12. No reason to believe that except that is what UND's president is pursuing.
  13. This is just a silly argument. People have different opinions of what is offensive but I doubt you could find anyone to say that shirt in the Fargodome is not offensive if they were being honest. Depicting anyone or any group in that manner is crude and offensive to 99.9% of humans. You can certainly find a few of the 'chronically and habitually offended' that would find UND Fighting Sioux gear offensive but not many. Go to the reservations in ND and take note of all the Fighting Sioux clothing you see. Going out on a limb here but you probably won't find many shirts like that moron wore in the same places.
  14. That's my understanding as well. It's too bad we are talking about that but we all know we won't get any breaks from the NCAA.
  15. This is essentially the same group that decided we didn't belong in the playoffs last year. I don't expect them to rate us high enough to get a bye this year. In a roundabout way it would be an admission of sorts that they were wrong last year. I expect we will get the short end of the stick again.
  16. It seems silly to be talking about what almost happened in those games but ignore what did happen.
  17. That's great. I did the same last week in Beijing. Made it to gf for this one. What a win
  18. Bringing 5 from twin cities
  19. Thanks. I'm afraid I'll be shot after the trip, tailgating and fb game. Will play it by ear. My kids are going to hockey game.
  20. random trip to China that doesn't happen often. your driving will be long enough.
  21. I fly into the Twin Cities at 9:30 Friday night from Beijing. My wife and I are driving up Saturday morning - leaving at 5:30 am. Gotta get some tailgating in before the game.
  22. Does anyone know how Ellie Veldman is related to Steve and Mark who both played fb at UND in the 80's? There is another brother Greg who played fb at Moorhead St in the early 80's.
  23. I was told that Faison estimated the savings to be $800k per year. That was someone very close to the situation. He also said Faison would deny that number for some reason if he was pressed on it.
  24. I listen to a lot of the games on line. Tim H often says "this is Fighting Hawks hockey" when going to a commercial. I haven't paid attention to know if he does it more during the game.
  25. Everyone had to suspect that Kennedy had another cost saving card to play when he kept all sports. This is the most logical. The number I heard from a good source said it would save us about $800k per year
