No, the point of the post is that fans of other schools say that. It's obvious to all but the most embittered rivals.

only one data point but a co-worker came back from a Minnesota-NDSU football game a few years ago and couldn't believe how arrogant and obnoxious the NDSU fans were.  He is not  a UM fan and was pretty open minded going into the game but was completely turned off by the NDSU fans that he encountered.

There are good and bad fans of all teams.

Taunting is not part of the game and it will usually get you a 15yd penalty and should be called every time.  If you meant trash talking, and there is a fine line between the two, I would agree it goes on all of the time. Ref calls taunting when he sees it.  The rule doesn't allow the ref to not call it because it occurs after a "big play".  The ref isn't "Mickey Mouse" cuz he does what he is supposed to do, the player did a "Mickey Mouse" action.  Big plays are negated by lack of discipline too often.

I was at a wedding but watched on my phone when I could.  I did see that play and our player stood over the receiver and straddled him and kind of walked up toward his hips.  I don't think the ref had any choice but to call that penalty.  Bailed USD out of a 3rd and 20 that was coming up.   Really bad penalty to take.

Bringing 5 and a lot of noise!   Catwalk fever!!!!

Niece is getting married in Twin Cities and I am in the wedding so won't make the game.  Asked if I could skype my part in from the Alerus parking lot but no dice.

Made it out to Stony Brook so I have that going for me.

  4. I am not a big supporter of the new logo but it is what we have.

My son (who is a UND student) wore a grey t-shirt with the new logo to the MN state fair last weekend and both he and his girlfriend said he got a ton of compliments on the logo.

Maybe those of us who had a lot invested in the Sioux name are a little biased in evaluating the new logo?

When your decision making is always done via committee, it's not a position of strength.  People generally want people leading them that make decisions, and do it quickly.  It builds trust for that individual, even though you might not agree with every decision.

I agree that Kennedy shouldn't be making decisions via committee.  My hope is that he is looking for input from the committee and will take that into account while making his decision.  He hasn't made any decisions by committee yet as far as I know.

It wasn't dirty from what i saw.  When you struggle for more yards like that, sometimes bad things happen.  I couldn't tell if it was a true fumble or not...i was paying attention to Clive's injury.

from what i saw, don't look for Clive to be back this season.

Thanks.  I just saw Bubba giving the ref the business.  It was on the other end of field from us.

I've heard similar on Clive.  Really too bad.  These guys work hard for a long time to prepare for the season. I feel bad for him.

  7. I was at the game last night. Tough one for the offense.

Bubba was really upset with the officials after Clive got hurt.  Don't know if was mad about how long they let the play go or if he thought it was a dirty play.   Anybody have any insight?  no replay or commentary in stadium.

I'm normally a fan of Schlossman, but he has taken some rather gratuitous liberties here.

Where does he get 'look at new options' from the Kennedy e-mail?

If the IAC subcommittee finds that the current conference landscape "fits" UND, there will be no "new options" to consider.  Just another day of manufactured news by Forum Communications?

What liberties did Schlossman take?  Kennedy said changing conferences will be looked at.  Schlossman talked to MVFC commissioner and she said no comment and he reported that.  He also laid out what options are out there if we do change conferences.  He didn't say it was imminent.

    What am I missing?

Patti Viverito, the head of the Missouri Valley Football Conference, said Tuesday: "I'm not at liberty to have discussions about membership with the press. We're certainly reading the articles coming out of North Dakota with interest."

Viverito declined to speak about the advantages and disadvantages of the current 10-team member, football-only league.

One other thing:  the art of negotiation doesn't include making statements to the press on what you want before it's negotiated. That is an absolutely foolish thing to do if you want a bargain prices.  Kennedy knows that, as he is not negotiating, but merely putting a rubber stamp on a move too the WAC with a committee.  If he truly wanted another conference like the MVFC or Slummit, he would keep his mouth shut and not send out public emails broadcasting negotiations.

The WAC isn't a negotiation, as it has already happened.

A serious question - do you have any basis for saying this is going on or do you think this is what should happen?

Can I see your spreadsheets and calculations that lead you to this conclusion?

No spreadsheets just good old common sense.

We have a $1.4 million deficit.  Up front we could trade a number of airline flights for bus trips.  At a minimum we could bus to NDSU, SDSU and USD with football, men's bb, womens bb, men's tennis, women's tennis, volleyball, softball, soccer......   Without crunching numbers my UND math tells me there would be significant savings right there.

I know baseballs budget was about $605k. A lot of that had to be travel.
