I do, minus the special teams coaching...horrible and horrible decision to go for the block.

Good lord. Absolutely the worst decision in many years.  Catch the punt at midfield and grind the clock and they can't beat us. Instead running into kicker and they go down and score and off and running from there

    BS.

Not sure of this response.  The Hawk pretends to be a UND fan but obviously isn't.    I bought a few tickets for Nodak Nation and challenged him to do the same.

    What was BS?

I find it embarrassing that we have to bribe our students with $5 tickets. Simply wow!!

Just paying it forward.  Jump on in and spend your money - or are you just pretending to be a UND fan.

To each their own. For a $5/ticket donation it's worth a try to get more students at the game. Spending $5 is not much skin in the game either.

To purchase student tickets, call Caitlyn Marshall at 701-777-0256, office hours 10-6. I've already done mine. Nodak Nation will pick them up and distribute them from the Union ticket office.

Thanks for the info.  I will call and buy some tomorrow.

Again, my thanks.  This time for welcoming remarks and kind advice I will give to my son.  Wish I could be there but I have conference.  Can only hope ESPN3 announcers are better than usual performance.  I have no doubt he will have a ball based on what I have read here.

Tell him to stop by the tailgating lot.  Should be able to get food and a beer from just about any group. Hope he has fun.

Listening to 740 this morning I heard "UND Sports Today" with Tim H.  Gave a full report on the hockey weekend vs MSU and interview clips with coach B (which is understandable given the FB team was idle), and finished by letting me know there's a game at MSG vs BC on Saturday.

No mention of FB home playoff game.

Missed opportunity to start the week.

He did promote the fb game during the hockey broadcast on Saturday night.

Lakes has already invaded the Spiders' forum and spit out his usual rhetoric.

I know we all have fools in our fanbases but he's got to be one of the worst in the country.  He must really be compensating for something.  Do any SU fans claim him and support his views?  I haven't heard of anyone that does.

  8. Regular season records determine who gets into the playoffs.  Results in playoff games determine who wins the national champion.  How a team performs in the playoffs has nothing to do with whether or not they deserved to get in.  That was already decided by the regular season.

I see these are print only or will call tickets.  Anyone else having trouble printing the tickets?

I printed mine on Tuesday.  When you select the seats and click print there is another print button that pops up in the upper right corner.  You need to click that button to get them to print. I had trouble seeing that at first.

I drove up from the cities 3 times this year with my gf.  She likes the football games more than the hockey games, and I think I do too now.  We also went to our first away game this year at UNC.  Saw UNDColorado's setup out there, but didn't have a chance to really say hi (gf is kinda shy).  We did get free beer at the UNC Alumni tent though haha.

Also, sat directly next to Faison and Kelley in the top row of the bleachers at UNC.  Neither even looked over once  to say hi.  It was almost as if they purposely avoided eye contact.

Kennedy did make a point of coming down to say hi to us at Stony Brook but it probably helped that I was sitting with Steve Brekke at the time.  He did seem friendly and personable.

Good.  I just don't know of anybody that does.  I sure some do and glad you and your family does.

My wife and I also traveled to Stony Brook for the game and plan to go to SUU next year.

I have always been disappointed at the lack of attendance/support by former players from the 80s and 90s.  I just don't see them involved much other than maybe one game a year and the letterwinner golf event in the Twin Cities.   I see a lot more former players from the 60s and 70s at games.

Hockey covers the cities and points to the east of Grand Forks.  Football should cover the west.

I am a hockey fan too but that does nothing for me as a football fan living in MN.  I would guess that a majority of our football players in the past 40 years came from MN and points east of GF also.

Hockey fans in Colorado get a lot of exposure to UND hockey game locally.

Geography absolutely counts. And it is pretty remarkable how well the geography of the Big Sky mirrors many of the primary locations that large groups of UND alumni are found. As our teams, especially football, continue to establish themselves as title contenders in the Big Sky and are making the national tournaments, the Alumni Association and Foundation is going to love being able to have fundraisers and host tailgating parties in places such as Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Washington and California.

I really don't think we are going to realize all of the potential benefits of the Big Sky until some time has gone by. Once we have established ourselves in the conference and had time to grow into a full Division I university and fanbase, at that point I think the benefits of being in the Big Sky will really become apparent.

The Big Sky is growing on me but one counterpoint.  I would guess our biggest alumni base outside of GF is in the Twin Cities.   The Summit and MVFC make a lot more games accessible to those people.  NDSU, SDSU, USD and UNI are all within 4 hours of the TC as is Sioux Falls for the Summit post season bb tourney.

There are no schools in the Big Sky that are within driving distance of the TC.
