There are many parts to this in my opinion:
- poor teams for too long. games meant nothing regarding league and post season play.
- lack of rivalries with teams in the Big Sky
- essentially no opposing fans in the stands due to travel distance
The first two take time to recover from.

He shouldn't have trouble kicking deep into the endzone at Greeley. The ball really flies there.

There is a kid named Brady. Another named John. Heard they're both pretty decent. Both better options than your banged up #1 QB regardless what you have been running for 2 years.
Agreed. First and goal from 2 us line and we should have pounded our big back 4 times. Instead we go bootleg and get our qb hurt.
We tried bootleg again late in game and they were ready for it then too

We have a tent. All who are ready to get in Al and get loud are welcome at our tailgate
Forecast now says 10% chance of rain Saturday with high of 43. Should be great tailgating weather.
We will be right next to your spot again. Will stop under the tent if it is raining.

I've been saying this for awhile. And the people that bring trailers, campers, and custom rigs are the most valuable for the tailgate atmosphere, but costs $60 for four spots on gameday....that same amount of spots at NDSU on gameday.....$20.
I haven't tailgated this year.
$50 per spot for a season pass. I have 3 and it's money well spent. I have more than $150 worth of fun at every game.

They'll just reduce budgets for non-hockey programs.
I think we need to do something soon with our fb assistant's salaries if we want to keep them long term.

I'd like to see Sections 209 and 210 become General Admission. (end of both sides) If you want a reserved seat/better seat, buy season tickets or pay ticket window price. But if you want to bring your kids and their friends, load up the car and pay $5 a head for first come/first serve seating.
Hey- my season tickets are in 209.
When there are big plays or situations near the end of the game I follow the play down the walkway.

We had a couple of chances to really put the game away with late first downs and had holding penalties both times. Without those two penalties we run 2-3 minutes more off the clock at a minimum. The game would have ended quietly if we could have avoided them.

So, what you are saying is, it's a lot like SiouxSports.com when UND loses a game, eh?
Yep. The funniest part is that they referenced the UND game

If you want to have some fun go and read the UM game thread at gopherpucklive. Start when they were ahead early.
"Wowwy, wow wow wow. Where has this team been? This team has skills never displayed before. I almost can't believe the difference.
and watch it do down hill from there.
"Pride on ice my arse."
"That being said, I blame myself for tonight. I blame myself for being optimistic. I blame myself for having a bit of swagger coming into tonight but most of all, i blame BSU for pissing away a 2 goal lead to UND to make this the worst effen night of the young hockey season."
Fun stuff

I turned it on and saw the last 20 seconds. Another NCHC win.

Any word on the status of Reyes and Rich for this weekend?

I also went to the Edina game last night (sorry I missed you Siouxperman8!). I was excited to watch Boltmann.
- There was a question on this board previously about his height. He's listed at 6'1" but it's hard to tell - the stands are pretty far from the field. I would not be surprised if he's under 6 feet.
- I spent most of the game comparing him to Keaton since I watched him in high school, too. In short Boltmann is a superior passer vs. Keaton in high school. Better accuracy, better decision making. He plays like a coaches son (which of course he is). I rate them as equal in arm strength at the same points in their careers. Boltmann did throw a beautiful deep ball that should have been caught... a gorgeous rainbow that was put in a place where only the receiver could catch it. Overall Keaton is the superior athlete at the same points in their career. Keaton was a fantastic running quarterback in high school; lightning quick reflexes and excellent speed... better than most RBs he played with and against. Boltmann is a good but not great runner... he does enough to evade the rush but is not a consistent threat for huge yardage when he takes off running like Keaton used to. Overall I really like him and he'll fit well into the UND system. He has potential to be a multiple year starter.
- I couldn't get a good read on Rickert. I certainly had my eye on him but because Boltmann spreads the ball around to much it was hard for Rickert to stand out.
Thanks for the perspective. I didn't see Studsrud play in HS so I have nothing to compare him to.

Great to hear. Did you happen to notice his teammate rickert? If so, how did he look? Would love to get a package deal
I didn't notice him but he wasn't on my radar. Sorry.

Boltmann was very good tonight and threw the ball well. To my untrained eye he seemed to have a pretty quick release.
Had some zip on the out routes and shorter passes and also decent touch on longer passes over the top, especially for a hs player. His receivers dropped two long passes that would have made his stats better and one would have gone for a TD.
Edina mostly ran out of the shotgun and a lot of read option. Boltmann ran the ball very well and took it up the middle for about a 45 yard TD similar to what we have seen Studsrud do. Their entire offense revolved around what he could do. Minnetonka blitzed him a lot and was often too much for their O-line to handle. He hung in there well and continued to make plays. I was impressed.

I'm heading to Edina tonight and will see 2017 QB commit Brock Boltmann play. Will post my "expert" thoughts tonight or tomorrow.

Here's my best guess. This is going on the assumption that Kennedy has numbers on different scenarios that could either (1) Save money (2) Add Revenue to get to the $1.4 Million (captain obvious, I know). The only thing that would make sense to me, is something happened the week In-between when the Coaches / Athletes gave their speeches and yesterday, that led him to believe that the savings would be there. This is all pretty obvious stuff, but whatever it was (league affiliation, ect) he must have a much better feeling on it as of today, then he did two weeks ago. I just can't imagine there being anything else, other than that. You wouldn't march coaches / athletes for the fun of it, if you knew that wasn't an option.
It's either that (hoping) or the guy has absolutely no spine and when push come to shove he folds.
The first paragraph makes the most sense to me. Obviously he can't share all that he knows immediately.

Who has more credibility : Lou Nanne or a bunch of random North Dakota fans on a message board?
Lou loses a lot of credibility with me in general for being a main spokesman for UM having only MN players and he played for UM but came from Canada himself.

Well ..... Lou has grandsons playing for both UM and RPI so I guess he might be seeing things through red and maroon colored glasses

Everyone should be afraid for the UND season. Lou Nanne was on KFAN today and said he wasn't impressed with UND after seeing them in person. Said D and goaltending weren't strong. Of course he says the goofs will be good. But I know he has no bias.

I have to believe that Kennedy has a plan, probably involving the RETURN OF THE NCC. It is hard to imagine that he isn't working something in the background.
I am confused by this argument/complaint. There would be a lot more interest and attendance if we were playing our regional rivals rather than schools like Sac St, SUU, Cal Poly, etc. There are some nice names to bring in but I would bet we would draw better in January basketball games vs. SDSU, USD and NDSU rather than Montana, Montana State and Idaho State.

You gotta be $h!tting me!?!?!?!?!
The only other avenue to saving $$ that I see is to lessen the travel costs. Summit anyone?
Also there is talk that the Big Sky would consider us for a football only membership. That would reduce travel costs for their other sports.

FWIW in the post game presser Toivenen hinted that Stanley's injury was not serious.
I really hope not. He seems like a good kid and is a very good football player. I met him this week in a class I was talking to and he was extremely polite and seemed very bright.

I kicked in Greeley and figured I got 10-15 yards more distance with the elevation. Hopefully he can get touchbacks.
