I don't think they went to Minnesota for anything except exposure. They used their freshman years to get on the Olympic team and after they achieved that they transferred here. I have no problem with them being upset about the program closing as hockey is their life and they have every right to use their freedom of speech. It sucks for them but it was absolutely the right call.

I was told that they went to MN due the coach at UND (Rivard?) at the time and the state of the program.  Once she was gone they were interested in coming back home to play.

I guess I forgot when UND lost 2 million dollars a year to retire and develop a new nickname and logo.  "Of course"!!  Good point.  Thanks for bringing that up.

Not to mention that we had no choice but to take on a new name and logo.

Hello all, this is Jennifer, Elijah's mom. First of all, thank you to those who support my son going back to UND, I truly appreciate your positive thoughts and I will include you in my prayers.  "Geaux Sioux" prbly said it best by asking if it was everybody's business? Unless you were trying to fulfill your 100% scholarship, earned your starting position as a true freshman at this level and had a newborn baby to support and you never wavered, then by all means, question my son's "motives" question his integrity, question his character. He's a kid, who is now a father. You don't know the half of it, he came home and completed classes at our local tribal community college and maintained a full time job to help his  baby Kinsley. He knows now that in order to fully support her the rest of his life, he needs an education. He comes from educated people, I have a bachelors and masters from Minot State and have taught for 20 years. He knows the value of an education. Instead of assuming, message me and I'll let you know. Just the way some of you assume he has lived his whole life on this reservation, really?? He went to grade school in Minneapolis and attended the Mandan Public Schools where he did very well, thank you.

We are all pulling for Elijah and you are right, it is nobody else's business.

"Dome"?  Looks more like an arena to me but I'm certainly no A & E expert.

It used to have a teflon roof and looked like a mini-metrodome.  They replaced that roof with steel 15 years ago or so.

Did anybody get a weird feeling of Dejavu when Matt Ryan took that sack along with the hold in the fourth quarter  to put them out of field goal range. I felt like I just watched a reverse in the Alerus.

The short answer is - yes.

Tough time of year for me but I hope to be in Vermillion too this year.  Also hoping to go to the SUU game in Cedar City too this year.

My wife and I are planning on the SUU game in Cedar City as well.  Didn't realize we were in Vermillion but will try to get that one in also.   I haven't been to the Dakota dome since we played there in the early 80's.  It was a a strange field to play on and I would like to see it again as a spectator.

Hasn't UND already said that the Nickel Trophy won't be part of the renewed rivalry?

There is zero chance that the Nickel Trophy will be part of the renewed rivalry.  We aren't going to risk further scrutiny and possible sanctions from the NCAA by using a trophy that has an Indian head on it that represents UND.

Hell - we were worried because we overlooked a Sioux logo on a lineup card we posted in the players box during an NCAA hockey game a few years ago.

Invoices sent in May with your cc donation level and season tickets cost listed. You can make changes and pay the invoice.  If you want to change seat location,  you can do that now for any sport except men's hockey.  If you want to move your hockey seats, requests to move are emailed in after the invoice is paid. You may not get the move for hockey unless seats there available.

I was told similar a couple of days ago by the UND ticket office.  The only difference was they told me April rather than May.

  9. I just don't see WIH getting cut.  GF is a hockey town, UND is a hockey school and because of that it would be hard to sell with Title IX.  Regardless if whether or not we need it for Title IX compliance, the perception of not valuing Women's hockey in GF would be hard to overcome.
