  1. I think one of the unrecognized high points of this season so far is our run defense. Look at Montana's rushing stats, they have put up more than 300 yards a game on every team they played except UND. This is the year to grab a rare win in the UNIDome.
  2. Easy road trip, hoping this drops the price of tickets by the time we get there.
  3. A fan site is not a reflection on the level of interest, most fan sites are the same dozen fans/anti-fans posting over and over sometimes under different nicknames.
  4. If he is splitting time at St. Johns it would appear he has found his level, no diss intended. St. John's is a quality program, almost always in the top 10 for their level and great local support. Homecoming this weekend the cars will be parked all the way out to I-94.
  5. Off week so going to make a short drive to Saint John's and watch Trey taking the snaps, they are using two QBs equally right not.
  6. It seems to me that a rural North Dakotan who has no connection to either school naturally gravitates to SU because of its agriculture education roots. Might also be cause if they don't have a connection their neighbor's kid or someone in their family has an SU connection. Perhaps the slam "if you want to work on a farm go to SU, if you want to own a farm go to UND" pokes them a little also.
  7. Agreed, I also think a player takes a lot of hard hits and it wears on the body so it's okay to limit them in the preseason, plus that room has plenty of talent.
  8. That should make the pre-game football Pointpoints pop (sarcasm).
  9. Yes there is some logic there - however other than Southern Ilinois most of the road games are winnable with this staff and their structure and discipline, plus you get a sense this team believes.
  10. That would have us in the playoffs.
  11. Are you not enjoying the season?
  12. Never had to say it out loud but my kids knew the same to be true - had a friend that didn't understand what a rivalry meant and they could not believe we wouldn't allow it. I said "any major they want to study is available at hundreds of other schools."
  13. Plus their coach has quite the dark history and they brought him back
  14. Randy quietly shows up at a lot of football events, always williing to chat with a fan - the man still casts a big shadow.
  15. Never, it makes it harder to read and isn't really necessary in blog postings. Thanks for taking it in the spirit it was intended.
  16. It's gonna take a day or two to get over the hose job, but we also had our chances. Really happy with the way our team handled the road atmosphere. I'm thinking this game has a more positive influence on the polls for UND than it does for Montana (although the spread was only 2 1/2), as they say it's always good to cover the spread.
  17. Totally on board with this finish, because the reality is if any of these Ws become Ls we aren't where we thought we are.
  18. We need to shine a light on what is obviously a lack of priority and an inbalance of support. I know we get criticized for comparing any sport to hockey but UND has the resources to support them all. Hockey has The Ralph staff and resources fully focused on them. It shows in the game day atmosphere. Football at The Alerius basically means they open the doors and look for revenue sources from the fans. The football entrance is a prime example, it is actually less than it was a few years ago. Who could defend that? They had a year to create something and obviously no one cared. They have two weeks to address it, history shows they probably won't and if asked would just have excuses. Something is better than nothing which is what we have now. We have top level facilities and a bush league game day experience.
  19. Couple of thoughts: I think the reason they started the fireworks so guickly was in respect to families with young children, they were probably already dragging around 7:30 p.m. The reality is that is who they were for - we've all seen our share of fireworks. I'll give a pass to those leaving earlyl since it was a night game. I am fine with UND having this early in the season as it allows people to get things done during the day. One game is no measure but no way the QB race was "razor thin". However am satisfied with what JTJ can mature into and Simon is a winner/leader. Easy to run your QB when you have back ups that can step in. What's the deal with our struggle to sack the QB? However, we did have a lot of QB hurries which aren't as exciting and can go unnoticed.
  20. You're joking right?
  21. Mike on the radio broadcast pointed it out. As has been said if it was an issue we can rest assured it's been addressed by this staff.
  22. Sitting at #15-16 for a few weeks will be fine. Last year we peaked at #10 I believe. Having only lost 3-4 games at home over the past dozen years if we lose this game we don't deserve to be in the top 25 for the rest of the year - THAT AIN"T GONNA HAPPEN :)!
  23. Tailgating opens at 11 a.m. for a 6 p.m. game - really sets the table for a loud fan base. Imagine the size of the garbage pile in the student section (right next to the dumpsters.)
  24. Yes and that's when the announcers shared that JTJ was scrambling to find his helmet.
