Easy to second guess the scheduling of SU now. At the time it made UND look good in the state and as The Flagship that is the way it should be. I agree that it did cost us a playoff run then and it might now.

I thought I heard on some podcast that they actually tried to get a 12th game but the teams that were available didn't fit what UND was looking for (perhaps all the cupcakes were gone?).

4 games allowed including playoffs so if they have no plans to play Schuster it will be a non-issue unless an injury causes UND to need him (dang I feel like it's bad karma even to mention this). As has been said UND wins 7 they belong in the field (SOS, perfect at home are two of the reasons) and could even host a first round and win it (teams in the lower half are all pretty average). Once you get past the first round the going gets tougher (yah I was around for 2016 so no need to bring that up).

There was an explanation as to why they just don't use Massey similar to Pairwise - something about not enough games to be a true rating tool?

Look at the resumes of the teams between 16-24, they all have bad losses. We finish 7-4 we belong.

If we finish 7-4 we deserve to be in, #12-24 are all about equal on any given Saturday.

So if attendance drops on in what is basically a play off game we can stop with the "winning will fix attendance" and "band wagon fans will come when games matter" and accept that dwindling attendance is seasonal and a matonal trend.

I''ll assume that current players are also involved in the recruiting process and can share their perspective on after-thought PWO offers that are just trying to back fill their recruiting class vs a school that was on them early and thought highly of them, followed them and came to the table first with a scholarship for a quality education.

Much of what he says supports that UND got the shaft in 2015.

How about we discuss "What if" we win out - who might we host? Pretty sure the coaching staff works their ass off every week to win the game - they don't need to have someone tell them their job is on the line.

There is no accountability when it comes to the polls and that is the way they like it.

We were in the exact same position last year and did not get it done. It hasn't been mentioned since it seems it's easier for some to focus on negativity but our new OC and his system is looking really good for a first year. It's fun to watch a game when you know something unexpected could happen on offense. I want to feel like when we win out and finish 7-4 with our schedule that will be enough - but past history has shown that the system for making the choices in a closed room and the politics that are involved makes me hesitant.

"you've done nothing previous years to build your brand" is a cop-out on laziness on the part of pollsters. If they don't have time to do the job they shouldn't be part of the weekly poll - worse yet is the Coach's Poll - that is probably done by an intern every week as reflected by how out touch it is with what is happening on the field.

Glad it wasn't one of us that suggested "running up the score"/ 1. Just win the game 2. UND is expected to win over 2 teams with 2 wins on the year so there will be no notice of the score margin (unless it can be used against us). If we win out our pedigree on SOS will be just fine.

How about the clueless who vote in polls and mail it in without research or vote based on regional agendas? We will be 7-4 at year end and 3 of our 4 losses will be against ranked teams (E W will win out and crack the poll because of their name.)

How does the bar keep getting moved on winning "big games" - UND (notice the capital letters used by those that respect the Flagship) has beaten three teams this year that were ranked in the top 24 - those who can't find "big game" wins aren't looking.

Anyone who spells UND lowercase is hiding something.
