  1. I would say that a quote directly from a player "Speaks for itself."
  2. The one I'm scraching my head over is Nash - the guy has 17 points in the first half, eats em up on the inside and leads a run that puts us back in the lead - then Nash sits on the bench for the first 10 minutes of the second half and ends up with 19 for the game - totally took him out of the flow of the game - the guy was unstoppable in first half and working on a career night (I admit I don't know anything about player management).
  3. Got it - let's just agree to disagree on the best way for a booster to show support.
  4. So I'm guessing you consider yourself a pragmatic realist and those who question the value of constant negative rants and "Fire Coach" threads are the eternal optimists. One of you pragmatic realists needs to reach out to Starman of College Hockey News: Miami, a preseason conference favorite, is in last place. North Dakota, who many thought were headed to a slightly down year based on who it lost from last season, is near the top. Now as the season enters the stretch run, both teams see themselves at different ends of the spectrum.
  5. Be careful - no room for optimists here - here comes the Mrs. Hak, "I only want the best", "Is this how far we've dropped" blather.
  6. As far as being able to be a crictic and a fan usually there is balance. So I guess the more "Fire" threads the bigger the supporter - every major coach at UND has a "fire" thread in their name in the past year. Kinda loses its impact after awhile.
  7. Hope to meet you in the tailgating lot - actually the parents of players do a good job of getting together but be sure and walk around with your son's jersey on and you'll get lots of invites.
  8. Based on what Blais has done at Omaha shouldn't he be on the hot seat down there?
  9. So you are a regular poster on a UND fan site, you listen to radio broadcasts of UND hockey and coach interviews... I'm just curious - what is your motivation and infactuation wih UND sports - personally I could care less about going to Bison-swille and would rather listen to an emergency warning system test than any sports program about FU (unless they are playing UND in something which recently means they are losing).
  10. Actually he has baggage from his time in St. Cloud - at least one very bad decision regarding how he dealt with players - I believe he was suspended. Nothing outragous but it got him some very bad publicity.
  11. I believe St. Cloud State's enrollment is larger than FUs. Don't know that enrollment comes into play - plenty of big players in NCAA basketball don't have large enrollments.
  12. Seen it, held it. Easiest way to display it would be in a case that you can see it on all sides then there is no pissing match about what side is facing out. So the next question is where does it get displayed? On campus, the Alerus, the state museum in Bismarck?
  13. Middle of next year there will be plenty of FU football tickets available, more the following year.
  14. Yah but in the past they never pressed charges - private entity might. (It's just trash talk as no one from FU is interested in the trophy anymore).
  15. Great idea - and since the Alerus is a public building if it were to be stolen it would be considered a crime. But with job openings at Best Buy and as petition signature takers drying up there might be some looking for a job like this that fits their skills.
  16. The battle for the trophy is over - even if they play how could they justify playing for a trophy that has an icon on it that has been retired and for some is considered mis-use of Native Americans - if UND and USD can't play for Sitting Bully anymore I can't see how the anti-nickname crowd would ever allow for a game to be played with a Sioux logo on it.
  17. I am not a Jone apologist, I am not Mrs. Jones. Now let's have an intelligent discussion. 1. When we look back on this team in 5 years I think we will realize the talent level wasn't as good as the current perspective thinks it is - for this level of basketball. 2. This teams legacy - great individual talent - weak on team work? 3. Can't really compare DII records to DI record - way different opponent talent level and strength of schedule. 4. There will be no more Elite 8 appearances for UND men's basketball - ever.
  18. I have followed UND basketball since the Gunther era, maybe that is part of my problem. Dave and Glas both had down years, sometimes several in a row. But I never heard anyone ever call for their heads. Of course there were no chat rooms, there was only talk over a beer after the game. They had talented teams and sometimes they just didn't put it together as well as another team. I always just looked at it as entertainment, not a reflection of UND as a whole, or something that would ruin my enjoyment of UND sporting events in general.
  19. What's the record of Summit schools vs Big Sky schools this year?
  20. April 26th - there will be beer, there will be brats.
  21. Shanley = private school = donor dependent (follow the money).
  22. Is it common knowledge how much schools offer kids or is it hearsay - how is Kolpack able to write that every time a kid chose UND over FU it was because UND offered more money?
  23. Plans are to attend again and try and bring some first timers - will there be a metal detector at the door? I am going to dig through my Siouxpride.com inventory and try and come up with some doorprizes to add to the bounty.
