  1. Saw this Twitter...I think it's his HS BB coach: https://twitter.com/...365417254187008 I don't know. From everthing else I've seen, this guy seems to be all over the place. Why did he leave CSU to play a year at Western Nebraska? Academics? Anyway, wish him the best.
  2. Congrats! Good job!
  3. Too bad. Once you get a taste of FBS, tough to go back.
  4. I don't know. I'm not sure the Av management respects college hockey all that much. But, when you have the second worst record in the NHL, maybe they'll change their tune...
  5. I want them to be happy too. God bless them and their little tractor maintenance program they have in Fargo.
  6. Oooh... let me answser that! Why, an NDSU cheerleader grazing on Dakotah Field did!
  7. Kind of sounds like a CNN reporter.. . http://www.mediaite.com/tv/stewart-tears-apart-cnn-for-completely-fcking-wrong-boston-reporting-human-centipede-of-news/
  8. Although I don't really agree that DU should have fired the Great and Powerful Gwoz...you have to admit, they may have gotten an awesome replacement. And, I don't think Hakstol should be fired. But, face it. If he was, there are many high quality coaches that would love the chance to coach at UND.
  9. That's a fair point. I believe it does help bring in the talent. Also, just being a devil's advocate, I don't believe Hakstol was on a national championship team. Cary Eades, of course, was. I think it's fair to say that Eades has experience in how to win it all as a player. Does that translate to winning it all as a coach?
  10. I never said win it every year.or .by the "bushel or basket". I'm just saying that Hakstol rightfully should feel heat to win a national championship. People are turning up the heat, and they should. To be honest, if he doesn't in the next few years, he'll probably get canned. That's the way it goes. On the other hand, I like Hakstol. The team plays at a high level. For the most part, Hakstol seems to emphasize academics with a high level of hockey. He's a no-nonsense guy,who demands a lot of his players. That's a great thing about him. But, there are expectations of national championships at UND, as well there should be.
  11. You know, I think Hakstol is doing a good job of bringing in great talent. That's tough to do, but let's face it...easier when you have the tradition and the finest facilities in the college hockey world, if not hockey itself. Winning it all can be difficult under the current format, even for a team with great talent like UND has year to year under Hakstol. But, again, let's face it...even a broken watch tell the correct time twice a day. It probably should have happened by now with this level of talent, facilities, etc... ( I was going to say the sun shines on a sleeping dog's a$$.etc....but, you get the ;point...) I'm not saying that Hakstol should be canned. I am saying he should be under scrutiny.
  12. I remember watching play for the Dogs. Yeah, he was scary. I'd take Dave Spehar. Nobody could get into the offensive zone, park his a$$ in front of the net, let his teammates do all the work, cherry pick a few goals and look like a hero the way he could...
  13. I'm pulling for Yale for two reason. #1...UND lost to them. Hey, give 'em credit. Hope they go all the way. #2. Quiennnepegcic or whatever the H they are called... Jeez...I've been dissing them all year. Plus, Yale is easier to spell. So, there!
  14. BTW, today, I plan on wearing my University of North Dakota FIGHTING SIOUX baseball jersey to Greeley to watch the University of North Dakota (no names) play the UNC Bears of absolutely no indigenous nickname background. I think I'll wear a FIGHTING SIOUX of the University of North Dakota hat also....
  15. Pretty funny...and true. http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-april-11-2013/the-ncaa-s-perfectly-fair-rules
  16. Start a new conference. NDSU/CSU/CU/Huntsville/Iowa State/Illinois @ Chicago. They could schedule WCHA interconference games. Yup... (Okay, I won't quit my day job...)
  17. I'd think he'd like to get them by coaching an NCHC school... Miami? Wait a year until something goes sour with one of the programs...other than DU, of course!
  18. CSU...Budwesier Events Center...right down the road from them. 5000 + seat hockey arena.. Could share it with the Colorado Eagles. C'mon Gwoz! You could schedule CC/Air Force/Omaha/Huntseville...etc.. (DU wouldn't schedule them. Too stuck up. They are the Minnesota of the Rocky Mt. Region...)
  19. Naw...the woman is Major League was hot.
  20. Good blog in the Denver Post on the firing of the Great and Powerful Gwoz: http://www.denverpos...ystery#comments But, here's an even better editorial in the Post from Terry Frei: http://www.denverpost.com/frei/ci_22976234/university-denver-prestigious-but-also-arrogant?source=pkg
  21. Normally, if UND isn't in it, I don't focus too hard on the Frozen Four. But, you know, this year, with these teams I might pay more attention. I kind of like that there are fresh faces in the FF this time.
  22. I think the whole point over "Boone" is the idea that the vast majority of pioneers were white that came to the frontier and wiped out the indigenous along with taking over land held by the Mexicans that lived here. It doesn't have much to do with inclusiveness, it has to do with the political incorrectness of "manifest destiny". Just pointing out why the controversy exists. Personally, I kinda dig "Boone" and the Pioneer nickname.
