  1. Is anybody able to connect to the audio webcast of the game? I can't get it to connect to the server.
  2. Apparently he's only a Sophomore......
  3. That's exactly what it is. They don't want to have the basketball game going on at the same time as the hockey game. Makes perfect sense to me.
  4. But there's nothing regarding Fabian being an assistant captain.
  5. Did I miss something somewhere along the way?
  6. After having only a 4 point halftime lead, the Sioux now lead 80-65 with 1:30 (or so) left in the game.
  7. What about making it a 2-min (or 4-min) minor for any player who turns to get hit from behind? Leave the 5 and 10 the same, but adding the possibilty of a 2 or 4 would make fewer players turn to take the hit from behind.
  8. Last year they showed all 5 games.
  9. My assumption is that people who buy tickets to the women's game are "supposed" to stay for the men's game. So the men's attendance is the women's attendance PLUS anybody else that shows up and buys a ticket for the men's game at 8. They don't have any way of tracking the near 1000 that leave between games, and another near 1000 that leave at halftime of the men's game. (Those number's just just random guesses, but they couldn't be too far off).
  10. So channel 23 is indeed showing FSN Rocky Mountain right now, but there's an Arena Football game on that JUST started.... anybody know what the deal is?
  11. So are you not showing it tonight? Good thing it's gonna be on 23 in town, because my plans were to come watch it at the bar. Anyway, shouldn't it be available to show for anybody that has Dish (or DirecTV) with the sports package? Or can they make different rules dealing with commercial establishments?
  12. I apologize if I got anybody's hopes up or if this was posted somewhere else, but unless I'm reading it wrong, at the end of this article (http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/sports/13948057.htm) it says the games are going to be on channel 23 in Grand Forks.
  13. The location is right, in my opinion, for where the parking is needed. But I totally agree that a big cement brick is not going to be pleasing to the eye as you hit the peak of the bridge on Columbia north.
  14. This is because the city of Fargo doesn't advertise ANYTHING. I lived in Moorhead for 12 years, and vaguely remember seeing little more than a billboard for F-M Ice Sharks. The city/community doesn't embrase the Bison nearly the same way Grand Forks embraces the Sioux. I was in awe when I came up here and saw how much support the school gets from the community. You go into Burger King on the north side (near Simplot) and all you see if Sioux stuff. Football helmets, hockey jerseys, it's everything. There is nothing like that in Fargo. Travel around the country and who do you meet? Sioux fans. It's rare, if it ever happens, that you meet a Bison fan or see an NDSU shirt even. I see more pride coming from Sioux alumni than Bison alumni. I recently went to a concert at the Target Center and wore my Sioux jersey. I had 7 (I counted) people comment positively on the jersey (including somebody yelling 'Go Sioux' out their car window as they drove by). Rarely do I see anything Bison anywhere except Fargo. I'm not saying this to bash the community or the school, but it's a fact of why hockey never worked in Fargo, there was no advertisment, and why hockey likely wouldn't work at NDSU, because the community and alumni don't support the school they way it's necessary.
  15. I remember that. That's when we all realized that Jordy was going to be wayyyy better than we all initially thought or realized.
  16. The cameras are in a bit tighter now, too.
  17. Thanks for the updates, keep em coming.
  18. I believe it happened when the NCC changed from when NDSU, SDSU and UNC left, and UMD joined. There aren't any designated travel partners like there used to be. So more travelling is neccesary.
  19. So they're basically the same thing, but with slightly altered rule sets? That's strange...
  20. Never heard the term "box" lacrosse, always thought it was just "Indoor Lacrosse." And yes, that's what they play in the NLL (National Lacrosse League). Field Lacrosse, though, plays on a soccer field, from what I remember seeing when watching games on ESPN. And since its soccer they play on either grass for field turf (astroturf, like at the alerus, isn't allowed for soccer....because the ball would never stop rolling). So I'm not sure if that would be allowed or if a football field would be big enough. After checking the rulebook I found that the field needs to be 110 yards long by 60 yards wide. Alerus definitely as the length, but I'm not sure of the width, since a football field is 53.3 yards wide. It'd be close, but it would put the sidelines dangerously close to the walls. After closer look, you need 120 yards long (including space beyond the endlines), which Alerus still has. But width needs to be at least 76 yards wide, plus bench area. Maybe you can vary the field size in Lacrosse like you can the rink size in hockey.
  21. Because those are the two teams in closest proximity to Lambeau. Makes perfect sense, really.
