This is crazy! I am not a happy fan right now!!!!!

I tried calling the numbers on the fightingsioux.com web site. I can't get any people, just answering machines and such. This realy stinks.

Are you sure? Because I realy don't want to go to GF with 5 other people if unless i can go to the game.

Ticketmaster says they are done selling tickets (I talked to a real person). She said they showed plently of tickets were left though. I am in Minot, so I can't hardly drive to GF without tickets. Any other ideas?

How do you guys get tickets for tonight's game? It is nearly impossible for me. I can not make ticketmaster's website work. And I am on hold on the phone. What gives? Is there a better way to get tickets? Thanks.

Yes, the other guys scoring is real nice. I saw the score and figured Duncan must have put in two or three of them. I couldn't beleive that he did not score once. The extra goals should realy help down the stretch.

Minot High no longer travels to Canada because a few years ago, a bunch of kids got caught with weed along with them. They were lucky because they did not get caught by the Canadians. Had they, there would have been big trouble. Now Minot High just elects not to go. Minot's youth program has really suffered. Remember a few years ago when we almost went undefeated? Well, that was one of the last group of kids that had been coached while young by Ray Meluda (I am not sure if that is spelled correctly). None of the youth program leaders senses have been as good. (By the way, we lost State that year because of a bad High School coach.) Also, back maybe 15 or 20 years ago, Minot drastically changed their youth program. They changed from in-house type teams to travel teams. This eliminated a ton of kids who could have played hockey. With traveling teams, hockey became, and still is, too expensive and time consuming to play. I know there are kids in Minot who have had to quit hockey for that very reason, despite loving to play and loving the sport. Back when my cousin played, Minot had 8 squirt teams. Now we have 4. And we have lost our Junior Gold team. Having said that, I do not think Minot High playing an uncompetitive schedule is a very big part of the problem. Minot played G-PR, GFRR, GFC, Devil's Lake 2 times, and East Grand Forks from the East and Minnesota this year. Minot's problem is their youth program.

Wow. No kidding. Pretty much a complete disappointment for Minot fans.

Hey you to guys! I started this thread so fans could keep track of what the future will hold for the West. I was mostly kidding about the recruit part. Hence the "..." at the end of the sentence. But there have been transfer(s) in the West that have helped Western school(s) improve.

Sorry to hijack the subject even more but Minot NEEDS to get rid of the "M"; even the colors could maybe be changed. It is not a very good feeling pulling the sweater over my head with a great, big maroon "M" on the front. Or, as has been suggested, the "U" needs to change their logo and colors. To use the "M" though, Minot had to get special permission from the U of M.

This is a thread to discuss the future of West Region hockey. Lets explore the upcoming classes for the schools in the West. Look into what it takes for a West team to knock off an East team. Post updates on any recruits that might be looking at a West school... You get the idea.

West Region Minot over Hazen 7-1 It was a relatively tight game early on because Minot was flat, but they got it together. Williston over Century 2-1 A tight game; fun to watch. Bismarck over Bottineau 4-2 Bismarck has some more depth and it showed on the shot count. But saying that, Bottineau played well and had good chances. Minot now plays Williston. Bismarck plays Dickinson. Hazen plays Century. Bottineau plays Jamestown. OK, I have updated it. Dickinson beat Jamestown 1-0.

OK guys. Bottineau vs Century JV was not really that. What it was is this, Century screwed up and thought it was for 0 points and were going to play their JV. It turned out that the game was for 2 and Century scrambled to get some Varsity kids dressed. So it was a points game and it was not really Century's JV team it was a mix of Varsity and JV kids. Bottineau is in the top 4 of the West. And the East, with the exception of Red River is not nearly as far in front of the West as many would like to think. Minot had Grafton tied 2-2 about half way through the third period. And they lost to Devil's Lake on a penalty shot in overtime.

I smell upset next week. Bottineau is for real and they are going to beat Bismarck. Bottineau just lost to Minot 3-2 and I watched them, they are a good team. Now with BHS losing their leading scorer, Bottineau is going to pull off the upset.
