  1. With Samford leaving for the SoCon, Jax State is looking for the best way out of the conference. If they leave the OVC would be down to 9 teams. They could pretty easily pick up NKU and SIUE. But who else would they consider? A name being thrown around is Western IL. It would make sense with East IL being a travel partner. Couple that with the impending doom of the IN State program, UND and USD could be in the Gateway faster than you think.
  2. NKU and SIUE to the OVC would make sense. Also, if they could get Morehead State to upgrade football from the Pioneer to the OVC, they'd have 10 football schools (better than 9 IMO).
  3. I doubt highly that you'll find many shoulders to cry on in the NDSU and UND camps if Valley City or Mayville lose that mission. Both schools should be closed or turned into junior colleges.
  4. The NCAA has a policy against doing things that make sense.
  5. Duluth, Mankato, and Saint Cloud could do it if they could get enough private donor money.
  6. No prob PCM, I'll wake you up just in time for the NDSU/UND game in 2009.
  7. I want the rivalry back so we can win the Nickel back.
  8. That is probably what will have to happen for NDSU and UND to start playing again every year. And it is plausible. You'd need Indiana State to drop and another team to leave. Then add UND/USD. Probably talking 5 years down the road here.
  9. If we keep playing 1 FBS team every year, it's just not going to happen until UND gets into the Gateway.
  10. A move to the CUSA for football and basketball would be more profitable for a school than staying the in the MVC for only bball. Missouri State and Illinois State probably fit that bill. Youngstown also has interest in the MAC.
  11. It's possible that Indiana State could drop football. If they do and another team leaves in the next 5 years, UND and USD are the logical replacements. Also, there is no scheduling agreement with Davis and Poly that I'm aware of.
  12. Nope. WCC. Nope. Great West/Mid Con Could be. Nope. Great West/Mid Con Yup. Possibly.
  13. Of course. But it's still larger than the small fraction of the SLC market brought by Weber and the small Missoula market brought by Montana.
  14. Of those 4 schools, Oakland/OR bring the Detroit and Tulsa markets and therefore brings the greatest potential viewer base.
  15. Every single venue in the US is uplink ready: And I guarantee you that the ESPN directors will want to use their own equipment rather than whatever the Ralph has.
  16. Maybe they would be if there was information to be had. There isn't. Denver is going to the WCC with Seattle.
  17. I'm sure Oregon and OR St would love to see PSU drop football. Not that they aren't already head and shoulders above PSU for football support from the state. It does appear that the Big Sky will be looking for expansion schools in 5-10 years. By that time UND and USD will be in the Mid Con and Great West with possible further expansion of the Gateway looming.
  18. Therefore, you're not from ND. Must be from Mpls.
  19. SIU-E plays basketball in the Vadalabene Center (4,000):
  20. Nope, you can't consider the pair of games. You can only consider that NDSU would not make a single cent from the game at the Alerus.
  21. The Mid Con will definiately take UND and USD over SIUE on facilities alone.
  22. Here's a question to anyone: What happened such that you never would've missed any NDSU/UND game from 2003 and before, IE it was the 1 game that you had to see every year, to never wanting to play them again? What possibly could have been done to go from such polar opposite extremes?
