  1. Utter nonsense. Kent is one of the least biased writers in the FCS and he lives in Kansas. Don't even try to go there.
  2. People being anti change for the sake of being anti change is nothing new. Not even something significant. You'll die out and the younger generation will move on having already accepted the change.
  3. I know the situations are not nearly the same, but Bohl was the DC at Nebraska before taking over without any HC experiance at NDSU and continues to take NDSU through the transition. I don't see why Tibesar couldn't fit in that mold. He's a bit younger I suppose. But I've heard he is a very good coach. Obviously you don't get to be a coordinator in the BCS if you're not.
  4. The thing about USD and SDSU is that, facilities wise, they're behind NDSU and UND. USD especially, the facilities need upgrading. Dakota dome is fine for football. But a new arena at least would go a long way.
  5. Even though they should, I don't think MSU will offer it to Lennon. I think they'll be pressured into offering to Van Diest who would no doubt accept. For some reason if they did offer it to Lennon, though, I do think he would accept.
  6. Maybe this should be a new thread... who is next in line if he leaves? Mussman?
  7. Only 14 sports are required to compete at the FCS level. I'd be all for cutting baseball and men's golf. That'd leave us with Fball, M/W bball, M/W Xcty, M/W I Track, M/W O Track, W Vball, W Soc, Softball, Wrestling, and W Golf.
  8. But would UND add both men's and women's or just women's? Like I said, with the way title IX is, I don't think the women's side will have problems growing in the NCAA. Men I don't know.
  9. It'll be interesting to see who the Big Sky adds in the future. I think it's obvious that some teams aren't going to stick around too much longer (5-10 years). Too bad the ship will have sailed a long time before that on the Dakota 4.
  10. I don't think the women's side will have any problem growing in the NCAA.

    Dakota Cup

I think the Dakota 4 should organize a multi sport championship series similar to what Kansas/Missouri, North Carolina/Duke, etc. already do by awarding a trophy ever year to the school that wins the most points by winning the most head to head sports matches. The sports that would decide the championship: Football M Basketball W Basketball W Soccer Softball W Volleyball M X Country W X Country M Indoor Track W Indoor Track M Outdoor Track W Outdoor Track M Golf W Golf If NDSU ever adds Tennis or Swimming and if USD ever adds Baseball, those could be added too.
  12. Another thing to note is that MSU has usually run the same 3-4 defense that UND runs.
  13. I'm looking forward to the Gateway having NDSU, UND, SDSU, USD, and UNI, just like the good old days.
  14. Looks like UND's reality for the time being is the Summit.
  15. All of a sudden every school in Georgia wants DI football. W Ga, Ga State, and Kennesaw St.
  16. I could see the WCC taking them and Denver as a package.
  17. Summit League.... geez. If this even gets mentioned on ESPN, it'll be as a joke.
  18. 50 minutes from Northfield to Mpls, with light traffic. 2 hour commute at least for rush hour. Same with Big Lake. If there is a kid out there with talent, they'll find him. Plus Brewster is visiting every high school in the state.
  19. Jacobs (Northfield) and Potter (Big Lake) are both outstate.
  20. We would only mock it if they tried to compare their success in men's volleyball to success in men's bball or football. It doesn't matter if they build a 100 million dollar arena for men's volleyball, or if UAF built one for rifle, the success of those sports will never be relevent to success in MBB and FB.
  21. Their women's team is in. Another case of the rich trying to keep everyone else poor.
  22. Blargh! If you're going to do that, just play BBall in the Ralph.
  23. If you sunk the floor of the Alerus such that the new seating on the sides was the same pitch as the current seating for football, I wonder how many more seats you could put in the Alerus for a bball configuration?
