Why would you be expecting to schedule Iowa? You've never played them in hockey and you have no Iowans on any of your teams.

I think it's a myth that the vast majority of NDSU boosters don't want to schedule UND. It's probably more like the vast majority of posters on Bisonville who like to think they're important. But I could be wrong there. There is also another article where Taylor is quoted that if April comes and the schedule is still not done and UND still has an opening, he would consider it. So probably a low chance, but greater than 0.

Obviously we need to get home and homes with FCS teams to beef up the schedule for 2008 and beyond. But for 2007 I don't see why not if we need games.

Montana and MT St. have something like 90 Montana players on their combined rosters. I figured that if you were good enough to play at the FCS level and you're from Montana, you automatically went to one of those 2 schools.

When Samford leaves, they'll have 9 football teams with Austen Peay rejoining the league. Perfect number.

SUIE to the OVC makes perfect sense. They'd have at travel partner in EIU ready to go. Also, Saint Louis to SEMO is pretty easy. And when the OVC loses Samford to the SoCon, the OVC will be looking for another member. I guess that means that UND will be joining the MidCon after all once they get rejected by the Big Sky.

I think it's a pretty simple question.

So you definately feel that NCs for sports in which a small percentage of the total NCAA membership participate in are less significant than sports with large participation?

Looking at the schools in the Canada West, I think only U BC and U AB have a chance to make it big time in the world of NCAA DI athletics. Football may never be a big time sport there, but basketball, obviously hockey, lacrosse, soccer, etc. could be.

LSSU has 3 DI men's ice hockey NCs (88, 92, 94). NDSU doesn't have any DI national championships. Then again, men's ice hockey is played by less than 25% (or whatever it is) of the NCAA. Alaska, for comparison, has 8 DI rifle NCs (94, 99, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 06). That's more than UND or LSSU, but since so few schools in the NCAA participate in it, you may or may not say that those are as significant as a football or basketball NC.

Yeah, I would think that if the WCHA was going to add UBC, Bemidji would get added on the men's side too. It's not like the WCHA doens't realy have some Minnesota DII schools (SC and Man).
