"And you kids stay off my damn lawn! I can't hear 'Panama'!"
-
When I lived in GF I swerved into another lane to hit one standing on University. Maybe you can try to run him down too.
-
Not a bad idea. Perhaps we can have black Sioux hockey sweaters and hats sent to the top-100 hip-hop/rap acts on Billboard, and their crews. The trademark royalties alone from white suburbanite kids emulating their "heroes" would fund 1000 years of litigation.

Independence Day weekend in North Dakota
ScottM replied to JESUS,family, rutgers's topic in Community
Not in NoDak anymore, but I will be spending the 4th of July weekend in Louisville. Not sure what I'll be doing, but I'm sure I'll find something. -
"Fiscal reality"? When has that ever stopped Whiskey Joe from trying to get 'SU new buildings, D1 status, etc? Besides, if you knew anything about what's been going on at UND, which is not likely given the profound ignorance exhibited in your posts, you would know that they're not putting their projected spending ahead of their money for any project, and that includes taking on the NC$$..
-
It will never happen in our lifetime.
-
And when you look at the fact that the D1 men's hockey tourney is only behind the men's BB tourney in revenue generation, your argument, whatever it is, rings hollow. With a move to D1, the hockey program with bring in even more $$$ to UND when it goes to the regional and national tourneys, something which does not happen now.

I feel sorry for those white boys who never realize they're going to "stay that color".

No, idiot boy, the Sioux name/logo were in place well before Ralph attended UND, and later made his fortune. But don't let facts get in the way of a good cry. Ah, another proud graduate of the Myles Brand Institute of Anally Derived Statistics. Apparently, if the decaf latte set is upset, the rest of the world should follow suit. Wrong again, dummy. Anybody worth their legal stones knows you don't pull a trigger unless you have a good chance of success. Private funds are used to avoid using public funds, which horror of horrors, may be used to fund programs for American Indians. I wouldn't call defaming a public institution "feeble". Nor do I see any reason for UND to "grow" into a pathetic place like Marquette. Well, it's better than taking it in the a$$, like you seem to want.
-
It's interesting, but not surprising, that Jacobs has effectively distilled UND's complaints against the NC$$ down to an issue over the name/logo. And contrary to Jacobs' opinion, I think the vast majority of Americans will/do support UND's position not only on the name/logo, but also for taking the NC$$ to task for the way it's conducted its "ethnic cleansing".
-
It's that "Marcia Complex" the little sisters to the south have that makes them less coherent than normal.
-
You really shouldn't drink before 11:00 am.
-
Good, it's about damn time to finish this issue, one way or another.
-
Then you're probably one of the most delusional 'SU fans around. (Which says alot.) 'SU and UND would derive a great deal of income and interest by resurrecting their rivalry. To presume otherwise demonstrates a high level of myopia, and perhaps one too many Milwaukee's Best.
-
Ah, but they will play. Certain Bison fans' tantrums and fits of pique notwithstanding, UND and 'SU realize they both made some serious $$$ when they played. Both will need the money, and the powers-that-be know it won't all come from playing Joe's Barber College.

It's probably under your Dave Spehar Fan Club boxers.

What are the odds of "Orygun Sue" being another poster who has been banned or suspended? Same ad hominum attacks, poor grammar, sophomoric logic, etc.

I really doubt the population of NoDak and northwestern Minnesota will be served well by two papers run by the same management. I used to read both papers' online editions regularly after I left the state, and thought the Fraud was much closer to a weekly shopper than tabloid. Then again, the Hurled's finest moments passed in 1997.

Linky Interesting concept, especially among the oft-jaded denizens of the Beltway. I'll have to remember to pay them a visit the next time I go to DC for business.
-
Ya know, Mods/Admin, I really see no place for more regurgitated ad hominum attacks on a dead person on this board. Perhaps instead of moving this thread, you should have linked to USCHO. Frankly, the next person who "Godwins" a thread should be banned w/o warning. There's no place for that kind of shiat, except on USCHO, GPL, MySpace and other teenie hangouts.

Sounds about the same price as when I would drink at Stub's or The 400.

I agree with this. I see nothing wrong with reducing the number of 4 year colleges or turning some into 2 year "feeder" programs for the larger 4 year programs. It's ludicrous that NoDak maintains this fiction, whether protected in the Constitution or not, that it needs that many 4 year programs, especially given its overall demographics. Minnesota has used this type of "feeder" program for years for the UM and MSU systems and it serves very legitimate needs, while also recognizing that not every town needs/wants a 4 year school. I think the arguments about "economic vitality" from VC and Mayville are provincial and myopic. If you want to enhance the overall system, for the entire state, you build to your strengths, and not let inefficient or ineffective programs sap money and resources from the larger system.

Combines can be taken for what they're worth. They're a chance for those on the bubble to move up a few spots in the draft, but I really doubt that guys like Toews, Kessel, Staal, etc. have much to lose. These guys have been watched by GMs and scouts for years, and a bad day at a combine probably won't do much to their stock, especially since they're not going be riding a bike or lifting weights on the ice. Screw ups during ice time may be more problematic though.

Agreed. Thanks for the "commercial", Coulee.
