Not sure I agree. Time and time again we had physical teams but found they called the games closer in the Tournament. This team has a good balance of physicality and skill/speed. Give me a team with speed that keeps its feet moving in the NCAAs.

That, and we want our reputation to be that we are a better finishing school for high end talent than the competition, so a short, successful transition from college to NHL is good for recruiting and an overall long-term plus. We all know Pinto has great skills and is willing to work. I like knowing also that he has passion and intensity. Now we will find out whether he learns this lesson or has control issues. Ryan Duncan had passion and intensity too.

I think everyone agrees it was a stupid penalty. But I think it's also true that fans are willing to be more patient when the conduct is not a recurring retaliation/stupidity problem with that player. Pinto is young; we will have to see if it's a problem for him. He certainly put the team in a tough situation last night.
