8-0 Miami. Different strategy this year.

The Big is strong this year. They don't have the best team, but unlike previous years, they have a a number of teams that can compete.

Good to see the penalty minutes down, but when they start playing faster, more skilled opponents, they will be more apt to get those hooking, tripping and holding penalties. Unless they keep their feet moving and skate with them.

He should sit down with that guy who does color for Hennessey and explain why it is a bad thing to constantly interrupt the play-by-play. Especially when that play-by-play guy is Tim H. Can I say it, though? There's just a little bit of me that misses that goofball Hammer. What does that say about burd and the game of hockey?!

Clean hits. And not much of the cross check, face wash, stick penalty crap that we've gotten from players who aren't smart or disciplined enough to avoid those things.

Jake Brandt is really gotten to be a good color guy.

BSU has done well. I remember when UND was about the only D1 school that would travel there, and it's good we continue that, IMO. They have certainly proven to be worthy opponents.

It's been a clean series--not much cheap hockey

mismash has been very good tonight.

We may not be conference rivals with UMinn now, but it's sure nice when UMD or SCSU sweeps them.

It is encouraging. But two greasy goals--if we hadn't gotten those and they potted one, everybody would be saying what a pile of crap game we were playing. It's just really hard to assess play without taking score into account. I get that score is all that counts; I'm just saying we feel good when we're winning, and that affects how we see the play.

I think Mismash gets one tonight.

This is completely unfair, 100, but you giving the gophers even a little break makes me hate you too. That's just the way gopher hate rolls.

I'm hoping the team culture is better this year. I swear to Parise I thought to myself last year that they didn't really celebrate much when they scored (not a measure of how often they didn't score). The celebration is as much about team unity and congratulating teammates as it is self congratulations. I mean, it's always good to act like you've done it before, but there seems to be more spontaneity with this group. This might be a figment of my imagination--like the way Kate Upton wants to ditch Verlander for me.

My gopher hate goes back way too far and too deep to take second fiddle to UMD. I remember Bill Butters fighting with fans after being ejected at the old barn.

I can't get on

That's true, and this year's team seems to have speed, but in recent years we haven't been as fast as the top teams. I think. It's hard to tell without data, and the eyeball test can be deceiving. A team that has a lot of skill and flow will always seem fast, and when you are reacting you always seem slower. (burd is so full of sh t)

Wilbur is wavering again. He does this every year.

That's about as objective as you can be.
