  1. I assume they need permission from the owner of the copyright and then may be limited in the changes they can make. Any intellectual property lawyers here?
  2. He'll wait til they are shorthanded to make it a 5 on 3.
  3. I like that Sandelin treats this like a football preseason game. Winning is always nice but it's meaningless in these games, compared to what you can learn about your players.
  4. Be a little cautious about comparisons. This was not an NCHC team they were playing. But I agree with many comments, including those about Pinto. He might be one of those possession players we have been missing for a couple of years.
  5. Best seats in most rinks are on the curve down low on the second level, rail if possible. Unless you want to hear the players, pound glass, etc. Depends on the rink, of course.
  6. I think most goalies at that level are able to block out more than we give them credit for. Think--don't have reason to say I know.
  7. I think those of us who have never played for the team can only speculate, which is,of course, exactly what we do. Berry wins a title, and people celebrate the difference in coaching style. He has down years and people celebrate the previous coaching style, the one they roundly criticized for many years because it wasn't Blais. And so it goes . . .
  8. It's called being smart. Start with the captain.
  9. Not going to miss Gardner when he's not on the dot.
  10. Probably so. The smart teams adjust to rules enforcement, and that is where the old school hockey culture can get in the way.
  11. Not surprising for a team with mediocre foot speed and talent. I think there might also be a little old school hockey culture at UND that doesn't fit so well with modern rules enforcement. That may well be BS. I'm sure I'll hear about it.
  12. At Ralph I, they watched the rows along the glass like prison guards in case someone chucked a badger or gopher. Other sections, not much.
  13. You plop little kids down in front of a TV they will set there and watch without saying a word. Give them space, books and rudimentary tools and they will invent their own games. Giant scoreboards, sound systems, and light shows are impressive, but they are like giant TV sets in the living room. I realize even kids of college age are conditioned to passively depend on their electronic toys, but you aren't going to liven up that section by entertaining them.
  14. Was the rationale provided?
  15. Stone age here. You just flashed your student ID and walked in (hoping they wouldn't check under your coat or inside the sleeves). Winter Sports Building and Ralph I. Don't know when that changed.

    The Herald

I'm not going to read through all the posts on this topic, but I found it pretty amusing to hear a guy going on about how few people care about hockey on a website where he regularly posts on hockey threads.
  17. Yeah. It's fun wanting them to fail, but only when they are winning. Unlike the rodents who shall not be named.
  18. They do. It would be nice to see Bucky start winning and get their swagger back. Good for the rivalry.
  19. Mecca without a hadj.
  20. I think everyone can understand mental illness. Regardless of what happens in criminal court, he will be sued into tomorrow. Just sad.
  21. Never thought of it that way, but you're right. After a goal you're supposed to be riding Big Mo, not battening the hatches.
  22. It was amazing how often they did that. I'm sure there are stats that show whether it was way out of the ordinary.
  23. Man, he had a wonderful demeanor.
  24. Don't forget the availability of high quality, low cost TV and streaming coverage.
  25. They've always preached hard work, but this year the players have to recited 50 times before they go to sleep: " I will shoot the puck IN the goal."
