I think you're probably right. They way they're playing now will be too little too late. Bemidji is currently a TUC but if the Gophers sweep them I don't think they would be anymore so I dont see a lot of improvement for the Gophs in the pairwise in the near future and time is running out fast.

Tell me about it. I'll never understand why we can't find a top notch goalie and you're right we literally have not had a great goalie since Stauber and that was over twenty years ago. Frazee was the #1 goalie recruit and he flopped. I think Hauser may have been the #1 goalie recruit as well and he was never great. Patterson leads the league in save% but I certainly wouldn't call him great just yet. It's been a very frustrating topic for Gopher fans for a long time.

I wasn't trolling. Dell is 20th in the nation in save% and 6th in the WCHA. Not bad but not outstanding either. If your team has a weakness it's him. And Briggs was a joke. You're right we beat Air Force despite Briggs. We won a LOT of games despite Briggs. Not sure why you think Gopher fans think of him fondly.

Those are essentially team stats. How many big games has Dell won? Has he even played in the post season? Im just saying he's still fairly unproven thats all. Dont let it get your undies in a bunch.

There's a big difference between a dirty hit or an illegal hit. Was it dirty? No way. But I do think it was worthy of a minor penalty simply because Malone brought his hands up a bit higher than he needed to. I dont have a problem with officials cracking down on contact to the head. Again I dont think there was any ill intent on Malone's part.

I dont know how last year was a fluke considering it was simliar to the previous two years. I could've seen the Gophers finishing third had Leddy stayed but that loss will be too much to overcome IMO. He was going to have a Goligoski type year. As it is now I think the Gophers defense is too weak to finish top three.

The WCHA won't be as sexy but college hockey overall will be better off simply by being associated with the Big Ten. I think it will elevate the status and popularity of college hockey to new heights.

Wow, we'll have to agree to disagree on that. I believe he stopped 42-45 shots against Maine considering it was OT for the title I cant complain about that. Against Michigan he made the save of the year with his glove that he had no business making in the second period when it was a two goal game.

Yep. In '02 and '03 the Gophers on paper did not have the best goaltending but they played the best that weekend.

You're right. In my first post I should have said if he has interest. My point was never that the U can get anyone they want whenever they want. My only point was that if the U and Blais have mutual interest then they will find a way to get it done regardless of a recent extension.

Ive never thought it was a slam dunk. I'm simply saying that if the U after next season went to Blais and he has interest, the extension he just signed is thrown out the window.

Wow you people are naive. Contracts and extensions are window dressing. Ultimately if the U comes calling next year and he wants it, hell take it. If you think an extension with Nebraska Omaha would stop him then...we'll then I dont know what to say.
