Do you really believe the refs were purposely favoring the Gophers because that's exactly what you just accused them of. You just proved my point that fans in heated rivalries have a tough time being objective about what actually happens on the ice. Both teams are guilty of crap. That's the way the rivalry has always been and always will be. Gopher fans are just as bad when they blame everything on the Sioux.

Marco Hunt at Sugars after the game called the Sioux "psychopaths" and it wasn't meant as a compliment. He also said that Hextall's gonna get himself killed someday if he keeps these antics up. You guys are delusional if you think everything that happened this weekend was started by the Gophers just like the Gopher fans on GPL are delusional thinking it was all started by the Sioux.

He came in a year early like Toews did. He'll be back for another season.

Wasn't Jeff Jackson available at the time? He's proven he can win at places like Lake State and Notre Dame, I don't even wanna know how well he would've done at UND.

When Finley comes back it will be a huge shot in the arm for the team. It reminds me of the Gophers in '03 when G. Potulny was hurt in the first game of the season and was gone until February. He was clearly the team leader and when he came back it re-energized the entire line up. I could see something similar happening with Finley.

Ness, like you said is a great skater with obvious skills but he gets pushed around quite a bit. I think he's a three year player who eventually will be exceptional on the power play. He's not putting up big numbers yet but he's not making a ton of mistakes either cause he's a pretty smart player.

The Gophers certainly have their flaws. Their soft defensively and rely way too much on their top line. I'm glad the team is going through some adversity right now. Nothing good comes from cruising through the first half of the season. The gophers are good but not great, at least not yet.

Speaking of banners, I've always wondered why UND doesn't hang banners for WCHA playoff titles. I think that's an accomplishment worthy of a banner.

The only difference between these two instances is that Kaip would've been gone for two games while White would've been gone for just one. And that one game is enough difference to you where you think kaip's actions makes him a great captain who puts his team first while White is a pansy? Ok, I got it.

If White played for the Sioux you'd be praising him for his discipline of putting the team first as opposed to calling him a panzy. We have league games this weekend and we need White in the line up.

Zacharias might be the most underrated player in the league. He was awesome during the playoff series last year against the Gophers, his level of play was right there with Kangas. Right now I think the Sioux are the toughest team to make any predictions about simply because of the goaltending situation.

Location. I can see why it would be frustrating for opposing fans but regionals and the Final Five aren't held at the X to give the Gophers an advantage. It's a great venue in a great hockey city with a good location for fans to attend.

Actually suggesting it's the same as home ice is disingenious. When the Gophers play at the X there is always thousands of opposing fans cheering against the Gophers. It's not the same size ice sheet as Mariucci and the Gophers don't get the last line change unless they're the higher seed. Is it an advantge? Yes. Is it the same as home ice? No.

Well then the same could be said of Gaspirini's last few teams.

What makes you possibly think Sioux players have more pride for their program than the Gophers do for theirs? If there's one thing we can agree on it's that both programs have amazing history which the players are well aware of and they think about it every time they step onto the ice. And you think Gopher fans are arrogant? It's just a dumb argument. It reminds me of Republicans and Democrats arguing over who's more patriotic.

So because UAA finishes in last place every year that makes it ok for Hakstol to never win a title? Nice logic. Sioux fans rip Woog for going to six Frozen Fours and never winning one yet praise Hakstol for going to four Frozen Fours with the same results.

You don't think he should be fired after 10 years of no NCAA titles considering he took over a program that Blais left in great shape? What's happened to your expectations? I think a lot of Sioux fans would agree that that is not a "ridiculous" statement as you put it. And by the way, lighten up a little.

Give me a break. This just proves that no matter what I say you assume I'm trying to start trouble. I'm just discussing the topic. And yes obviously we can't compare their coaching careers as a whole as Hakstol is just four years in. But through four years they are very similar and I'll I was saying was Gopher fans thought that a national title for Woog was inevitable just like siouxweet seems to think the same for Hakstol as he posted earlier. It obviously never happened for Woog and the same could happen to Hakstol.

What? Their first four years are incredibly similar, four FF's and no titles. How is that not comparable? And it doesn't take a couple bad years to get fired from a program like UND which has such high expectations. If it's year 10 of the Hakstol regime and he's made the NCAA tourney every year but still no title then he should absolutely be fired at that point.
