I've heard its down to the U or Michigan. Kangas came to the U as a drafted 20 year old freshman so I dont think the coaches ever expected him to stay four years. Its probably time for him to start his pro career.

Yeah it is weird even I dont completely understand it. I know one year the Gophers won the national title they actually lost the Rose Bowl. May have been 1960. I think Joe Paterno has three different undefeated seasons where he didn't win the title based on the polls.

That system was in place until 1998 when the BCS started. Thats how Div 1 football has always been, those National Titles are legit as it gets. Are you saying none of Notre Dame's national titles are legit as well cause it was the same system?

I never said it counted towards our NCAA titles. But the Gopher hockey program does have seven national titles, that fact can't be disputed. The question didn't ask how many NCAA titles we've won. I was just having a little fun jeez. : )

Brewster has dramatically improved the recruiting per every national recruiting service its vastly better than Mason. And to already claim his hiring was a mistake when his first recruiting class were true sophomores last year is ridiculous. It takes a minimum of four years to build a football program and he deserves the chance to coach his own recruits as upperclassmen.

If you have to ask that question then you clearly dont understand how recruiting works in college football. Giving Brewster the extension was absolutely necessary. Where Maturi screwed up was not giving him the extension two months earlier before we lost some recruits because of the uncertainty surrounding his contract.

So York(3 ncaa titles), Gwoz(2 ncaa titles), and Blais(2 ncaa titles) "make key calls at strategic moments that wins games" but Lucia(2 ncaa titles) does not? Makes sense.

My hatred of of Adam goes back to the '96 Final Five in Milwaukee when he screwed Crowley out of a goal by blowing an early whistle. Thank god we still won the game in ot. I never predicted that. But Illinois and South Dakota State at home are wins. A win over MSU at home and that's 7 wins overall with a bowl game pending. It's not probable but it's not far fetched either.

If the Gophers beat MSU this weekend a 7-5(4-4) regular season record is a lock. Impossible to predict the bowl game without knowing the opponent but 8-5 isn't out of the question like you say. I'm not bragging about our football program but a UND fan mentioning football as a jab to a fan of a Big Ten school is funny. And you say those two had better improvement from year two to three than Brewster has but thats because Brewster did MUCH better than they did in year two. Plus Brewster can still have a better year three than two, we dont know yet.

Brewster's doing as well in his third year as Ferentz and Alvarez did and they seemed to work out. Enjoy taking on the football powers that are Stonybrook and Augustana. I bet those games are a lot of fun.

I don't know how many of you have been to Yost but Michigan's student section is by far the most vulgar I've seen. I know their athletic dept was trying to improve it a few years ago and I haven't been there since '02 so maybe it's better now but they were the worst.
