  1. You're complaining the Gophers are ranked 8th after a road sweep against the defending national champs? If it wasnt for pre-season rankings the Gophers would be ranked even higher. Rankings at this time of year are meaningless. And yes Patterson let in 8 goals this weekend but he was the best player on the ice in both games. He stopped 92/100 shots in a tough environment. He is definitely in the conversation for the best goalie in the league. He was second team last year and is off to a great start this year. Through four games he has a 943% and a GAA of 1.9.
  2. IMO, the Sioux were more intimidating under Blais when it seemed like every forward in the line up could fly up and down the ice. Even a player like Spiewak who I dont believe was even a top six forward could just kill a team with speed. In fact the Sioux under Blais remind me a lot of what BC looks like today.
  3. You people are aware that for every scientist or study you can find to debunk the global warming theory, there are 1000 other scientists and studies that support it right? Personally I dont know about global warming. Its way too complicated for this dummy. But finding a study here or there that supports your argument does not mean the theory of global warming has been debunked.
  4. I didnt read Franks quote, but maybe he was just talking about name recognition in comparison to the Big Ten. Every typical college sports fan across the country knows all 12 Big Ten schools. You list off the schools in the NCHC to your typical college fan and they'll look at you confused with a blank stare.
  5. Grimaldi is obviously allowed to his opinion but he comes off being judgemental more than anything. It certainly wont help dispel the stereotype that religious people tend to be the most judgemental.
  6. Sounds like there's a good chance he'll be in Ann Arbor this weekend which is encouraging.
  7. Small quick forwards has certainly worked for BC lately. Plus the smaller forwards are the ones who typically stay around longer than lets say a Bjugstad type player.
  8. I agree 100%. SCSU fits the NCHC like a glove. They're a solid program with a good fan base and an upgraded arena. Im very surprised at Sioux fans reactions to this.
  9. I haven't been following this as close as you guys of course. But with the season around the corner I was wondering, what do the jersey's look like this year? Do they still have the Native American logo or is this the year it's gone? Just curious, thanks.
  10. Ranking the "best" fan bases is obviously very subjective yet you say there is "no denying it" when claiming UND has the best. And have you ever attended a game at the Ralph dressed in a Gopher Jersey? Try it one time and then try to claim with a straight face that you guys treat opposing fans the best.
  11. FWIW, Hammy on GPL said he's positive the player in question is not Fasching but who really knows.
  12. Reality? From a Sioux fan? Thats funny.
  13. Thats because what I said is 100% true.
  14. Exactly. It's crazy for Sioux fans to rationalize to the point of actually believing that Minnesota, a Big Ten member, could tell the Big Ten we wont be in their hockey conference. Ultimately I think these changes will be good for college hockey. It just seems like it makes more sense now. Big Ten hockey schools actually playing each other on a regular basis makes sense. Elite programs like UND and DU in another conference with some other very good programs makes sense. The fact that the brand of the Big Ten is now a part of college hockey will be great for exposure. And if there's any truth to the Versus(NBC sports) rumors about the NCHC then that will be huge for the sport as well.
  15. I dont read that website often, but even so that is a tiny percentage of college hockey fans.
  16. Theoretically, yes we had a choice. In reality we did not and you know it. And Sioux fans must have voices in their heads because I just dont see the outrage directed at UND that you claim exists.
  17. I think its inevitable that the rivalry will suffer some which just sucks. But things change and there's no doubt that Michigan will quickly turn into a major rival of ours which I look forward to.
  18. No and I wont blame UND if this move has a negative affect on college hockey either. UND has to look out for themselves first and because they were pro-active they will be part of what looks to be an elite conference for a long time.
  19. And a lot of UND fans are blaming UM and UW when in reality they had no choice, while UND DID have a choice. I have NO problem at all with UND's decision but they certainly had a choice unlike UM and UW.
  20. Out of curiosity, do you have examples of this second class treatment UND received from the WCHA?
  21. Im a bit surprised by that as he was drafted by the Rangers who have some good college players like McDoonugh and Stepan. You would think they would be fine with him going the NCAA route. I wonder if they pushed him in the direction of the OHL or maybe he's just not a fan of school.
  22. Why is that? I think both conferences will be very successful.
  23. Let me get this straight. You're arguing Minnesota had a choice to turn down the Big Ten Hockey conference because had things not worked out we could just go join the Big East or Big 12? This has to be the worst thought out post in history. Yeah we'll just leave the Big Ten, throwing away 100 years of tradition of being a member of the oldest and most renowned conference in the country just so our hockey team can continue to face the Bemidji's and Mankato's of the world. Minnesota had NO CHOICE but to join the Big ten hockey conference once it was inevitable to happen. Maturi and Lucia were both on record saying they would rather just stay in the WCHA but we also had no choice but to vote for it once it came about. Now UND on the other hand DID have a choice of whether or not to stay in the WCHA minus UM and UW. That said I dont blame UND for doing what they felt they had to do. But to argue Minnesota had a choice to take a stand because we could simply go join another conference is beyond idiotic. If you want to blame anyone, blame Alvarez.
  24. At least our fans have all our teeth.
  25. Im so tired of hearing about the "arrogance" of the B10. Playing the same schools in hockey that we do in EVERY other sport on our campus is not arrogant. In fact to me it sounds quite reasonable.
