My guess at the starting line up at Stoney Brook next year: Offense: Stockwell, Miller, Aplin, Cox, Grady, Fiedler, Seibel or Georges, Stanley Studsrud Coyne Santiago Defense: Greely, Cielsak, Dranka Labat, Rich, O'Brien, Disterhaupt T. Carter, Reyes, Arnell, T. Harris

It will be nice to be able to focus on fewer position groups this offseason when it comes to recruiting HS, JUCO ands FBS drop downs. SECONDARY, SECONDARY, SECONDARY! -- and hope to get a healthy Arnell back with maybe a medical red shirt, if possible.
-
Please no offseason defections!

That game might look a lot like we remember the Alerus being in the good old days. A late first game at home (third game overall), traditional rival....might even be Potato Bowl weekend -- Alerus should be rocking! No excuses. Just have to take care of Stoney Brook in Week 1 and be respectable against FBS Bowling Green in Week 2. And the table will be set!

Thank goodness! What'd our bigs end up with?

UND covered, baby! World beaters!!!!
-
You get my point. Some fans are just more hopeful than others. Nothing wrong with that. To each their own.
-
Or just a UND fan like most of us are.

Typical scenario....eastern team thinks we can't ball with them because were from the sticks. We hit them in the mouth. They adjust and make a come back. Seen it time and time again. Story of our life.

Well, Shanks has been exposed as soft this half. Watch in the second half for them to bring it inside a lot.

Interesting. a 3-7 Abilene Christian up 14-6 on UNC.

Bob Kitties go up 7-0 early on the Griz.

Correct on Gordon. As some might know, I have zero life in the late summers and I tend to make it to most summer camp practices. Gordon looked more than ready at that time, and was the most impressive back on the field many times. That said, this was when Santiago was practicing with the WRS.

I joked with a buddy last week that poor Nevermann might find himself in the same spot that he was last year in Wyo: Bubba: Hey, Oscar! Nevermann: Yeah, coach? Bubba: Come over here, pal Nevermann: Coming, coach! Bubba: (putting his arm around Oscar)... Sooo, how're things goin'? Bubba: Workouts coming along? Grades? Heard much from home? Nevermann: Everything's good, coach. Bubba: Soo, Oscar, we're looking pretty good at running back going forward, aren't we? Nevermann: yeah, coach, I'm pretty excited; can't wait to contribute! Bubba: Soooo, whadd'ya think of linebacker? Nevermann: <oh crap look> All kidding aside -- I think Oscar is safe at RB, as we all know the importance of depth.

That's a great point that I forgot about! Boxers and wrestlers bring a lot to the game of football. Can't be overstated.

AFter a season of winter weights and Diet by Baukol..... wow, he's going to be something special!!!!

Yeah, let's see if Prior handles this loss better than Hardee did on his last trip out to a BSC tournament.

Below is the most recent injury report published in the UND-Cal Poly Football Notes that came out late Monday (despite the fact that it says "Oct. 31" on the Injury Report -- I think that part just didn't get updated). It is kind of funny the cat-and-mouse game that teams play with the opposition when it comes to these reports. For instance, we all assume Brady is out for the season, but the report lists him as "doubtful." Doubtful ????? What??? We all saw him on Saturday, didn't we? Looked more than doubtful to me, but, hey, what do I know? Bubba also gave an encouraging nod toward Oliviera on the Midco show on Tuesday night. He said something like Brady's injury might not be as severe as first believed, but he gave no time table for anything. I will keep hoping for the best! NORTH DAKOTA INJURY REPORT | Oct. 31 2 Brandon Walker, WR (Out) 5 Brady Oliveira, RB (Doubtful) 15 Alex Reed, WR (Out) 16 Romon Bridges, WR (Out for season) 20 Zach Arnell, DB (Out for season) 30 DaQuan Baker, DE (Out) 32 Taj Rich, ILB (Out for season) 43 Drew Greeley, DE (Doubtful) 46 Tyler Coyne, FB (Out for season) 61 Brandon Miller, OL (Out)

How in the heck does MacKenzie Hart not get first-team all conference honors after leading the entire NCAA in digs per set and the year she had overall?
-
I think Walker has an injury. Not sure what or how severe.
-
Along with the other reasons, I imagine some of it is because they run, run, run, and then pass in the red zone where TDs are more imminent.
-
As long as that's all it is, I am quite cool with it. Go, Hawks!

Guess we'll just save our pent up frustration until next fall on Sept. 17 and take it out on someone at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks.
