  1. the points are there for her. she just has to be more patient, set her feet and quit rushing her shots. If she works on that this year, all summer and into next season, she could be very special.
  2. I think for just his court side behavior. But you knew that.
  3. correction: UND tried to give that game away, and NDSU WAS interested.
  4. Did we beat the spread?
  5. It was their Super Bowl.
  6. Maybe locally.... but not by many many others that we recruit against regionally in the BSC, MVW and Northern Sun.

True.... though, they have the tendency to have pretty decent luck at attracting FBS drop downs from the western part of the country. i.e. Boise State or some of the Utah and Washington FBS schools. Nonetheless, your point stands!
  8. Looks like ISU quarterback Sanders is transferring out per Twitter. He was a good one as I recall. That leaves them with three freshmen waiting in teh wings.

  10. No info here... just playing armchair quarterback. Sorry.
  11. I would go with no QB this year over just a warm body to chuck the ball if that's the way things play out, and then double-down and try again next year to go after someone who is the right fit, whatever that means to Bubba and staff, and talent to compete right away if needed. We can't be giving scholarships/FCOA to just any chump off the street.
  12. ^^^This.
  13. Who are you referring to as a third string bust in particular?

Yeah, I think Iwarri has a break out year this next year..... we have to remember he was probably the youngest player on the squad at only 17 when he started. He got a full dose of FCS football last season, now he knows what to expect. He runs hard. Jury is still out on his hands, but I think that is a confidence thing more than anything. It will be fun to see where he shakes out.

And then there's Seacrest, who should get a very-much-needed red shirt year to grow and mature.

Don't sell short on Gordon, either. He surprised the heck out of me at fall camp and I've heard he's continued to impress coaches throughout the year on scout team.
  17. You'd be surprised how cloak and dagger the recruiting game can get. Patience, my friend. Let's get the right fit. If there's someone out there that is a quality get, I'd rather we get him over bringing in a warm body quickly.

this is correct. He prepped, dressed and traveled with the team as a true freshman just in case, but his shirt was never pulled.

Arnell is the one I'm really wondering about as far as med red shirt.

yeah, a bit smallish for TE, about an inch shorter than Adler, who I thought was borderline.

Speaking of gimmicks.... scuttlebutt at the beginning of this year was that a certain big ol' true freshman hog might see some time in the offensive backfield on short yardage situations. Would have loved to see that. Wonder if that might still be in the offing in future years?

Good for Joe! I think he could be a real nimble threat a that position, with great understanding of the QB/receiver relationship as far as passing and blocking. Hope he heals up good enough to do it.
  23. Yeah, good questions on Merz.....in his FB comment, it sounded like his heart just wasn't in football or school anymore and he wanted to move on to a good paying job that he didn't need a four-year degree to have.
  24. Don't think JUCO transfer Camy saw any time this year... nice size but footwork wasn't there IMHO. Merz had considerable promise, tho, out of H.S.
  25. I should add that it is my humble opinion that there are far more people that are UND sports fans in general at our football and basketball games than there are those that are dedicated to only one sport. Not saying there aren't football only and basketball only fans, because there are. Just fewer by comparison.
