  1. http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=58577&SPID=6390&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=209884514&DB_OEM_ID=13500 A lot of hockey pedigree in the crop of new recruits coming in for 2015: Kennedy Kidd - Father, Trevor, played hockey with the Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs, and was a member of the Canadian team that took silver at the 1992 Olympic Winter Games. Riley Koberinski - Father, Scott, played hockey at UND from 1985-89. Meghan Lindsay - Uncle, Derek Laxdal, played hockey for the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Islanders and is the current head coach of the Texas Stars (AHL). Bella Mantaro - Father, Jason, played hockey at the Air Force Academy. Olivia Swenson - Lettered three years in hockey and two years in lacrosse at Chaska HS.
  2. Why would she want to stoop to that level? DCZ was an insider long before there was even a figment of a mention of anything remotely called a %gobc.
  3. I seem to recall the new UAS center, AKA Robin Hall, which is going up on the western edge of campus, also used challenge fund matching dollars. I think UND did nice things with its money... it is just interesting to me to see where individual institutions are investing this money.

  5. So that blogger from Minot is alleging that certain schools in the state are using public money to pad their recruiting/scholarships budgets for athletics. Very interesting.
  6. I'm most impressed with his own words and his reflections of himself and the past season... he is certainly the kind of young man we want representing our squad.
  7. Brandon Dranka in his own words: http://www.nwherald.com/2015/02/07/im-just-saying-with-huntley-grad-brandon-dranka/avlt32/?page=2
  8. Up by as many as 28 at one point.
  9. UND wins!!!!! By 16.
  10. 43-30. UND over NAU at the half. Lloyd and Dyer each with 13 points.
  11. The ladies came to play today!!!!! All facets of the their game were rolling. I wonder if they have enough in the tank for tomorrow afternoon. I'm afraid the Goofs are gonna come out mad as hell tomorrow.
  12. Attendance around 4,800. Second largest UND home hockey attendance.
  13. I'm largely neutral on Jones as I want to see what he can do with his first true crop of nontransition era high school recruits (next two years)... but I think men's hockey at UND and the women's sports are different animals compared to football and men's basketball when it comes to external impacts (i.e. nickname issue) and the reasons those athletes choose or do not choose a school.
  14. I'm bringing me + 6! Go UND! Suck it, Goofs!
  15. Bell, anyone?
  16. It's a good start. But we should probably leave it up to his teammates --- can't wait to hear what they come up with!
  17. Grady needs a good solid nickname that will stick.
  18. The Book of Elijah keeps getting better and better, and he hasn't even moved on campus yet. A legend in the making?
  19. Knauf said he looks for guys that look like him. If he's not looking into their eyes or looking up at them, he won't consider them ( I think he was only half joking). Also said that he was impressed with the explosive hips in ona couple of his OL recruits. Rooney and Mertz come to mind.
  20. I was impressed with how many were multi sport athletes ( hockey, basketball, track, boxing). More than a few times I heard last night that our OL and DL recruits were also playing hockey. Big men on skates. That agility has to translate well on to the football field.
  21. Just might get a Wisco guy after all, albeit, a hold over from 2014. Tom Miller speculates in his latest blog that linebacker Hudson Walton has cleared the NCAA issues he had last year and there's a possibility he lands on the UND squad this fall.
  22. I have no clue. Maybe others do. He just never seemed emotionally mature enough for college football away from home. Wore his feelings on his sleeve ( and on his Twitter feed) much like Aeron Carr did. Big talk up front. Mixed results on the follow through. Edit: All that said, maybe it was injuries and he made an informed decision on his future, and if that was the case, I apologize for my read on the situation.
  23. Video on the MacGregor kid. http://www.ncsasports.org/football-recruiting/mn/zimmerman/zimmerman-high-school/alex-macgregor
  24. Could be a new kicker out of Zimmerman, Minn. 6'1" 190 pounds.
  25. At some point, he quietly fell off the roster.
