  1. Not to me. What is the story? I assume the baggage is the reason that he has played for several teams?
  2. An unofficial visit of course.
  3. Are you saying they would have lost the point they got getting to overtime?
  4. Don’t forget St. Cloud choking to Air Force paving the way to the Frozen Four where they had to beat Ohio State and Notre Dame before the Big Ten became more viable. Nevermind getting into the tourney by .001, and Bowling Green choking away a late lead another year. Like we said, you need good fortune along the way as well, like not having to play a well rested team like we did because of Michigan’s Covid forfeit. Don’t get me wrong, they did what they had to do in those circumstances, but you can’t deny the good fortune, and that going against us against BU and Duluth. Who knows what happens if those circumstances flip in our favor, along with the Covid cancelled year.
  5. He was committed to Western and flipped when he started playing really well in the USHL as recall.
  6. He is a huge fan of Duluth, in fact so much so that he helped tutor Cole Spicer, which ironically is why he is ineligible.
  7. So apparently Hastings is a poor coach too, as Wisconsin lost again to a Ohio State team who aren’t even close to being a bubble team.
  8. It would be the worst year ever for them to not only make the Frozen Faceoff, but win it. That would be going from the outhouse to the penthouse in a hurry, and really put a wrench in everyone’s plans.
  9. Personally, I think it is indicative of the type of defenseman that Berry went after when he did the defensive reboot. We needed guys that were going to be defensively responsible first and foremost, and then worry about adding to the point totals. It seems that both Livanavage and Wiebe have some nice upside offensively, and they both seem to realize they can be offensive when the situation dictates. With that in mind, it is very nice that Livanavage has the most points at UND as a rookie defenseman since Brian Lee. In college hockey today, you need some offense from your defensemen, but like you said, with our forwards, you don't have to sell out for that offense. I think we move more to the offensive defense in the future, and just make sure they do so responsibly and when the situation dictates. That said, you are always going to need guys like Bennett Zmolek and Keaton Pehrson, who are just plain hard to play against. A good balance is always desirable.
  10. I would think Littler would be ahead of Klee, unless of course his injury is an issue going forward.
  11. I thought I saw somewhere that Lund is a big gopher fan.
  12. Hopefully BC keeps rolling and feels invincible, then has their "Colorado College" moment early in the NCAA tournament.
  13. I think I heard on a Wild broadcast that Brock Faber wasn't even on the gophers top power play unit, yet he is on the Wild's top unit as a rookie. If that was one of our coaches can you imagine the ridicule that would be coming their way!
  14. You can tell he played with huge offensive talents like Hughes and Power, as he doesn’t shoot a lot himself. Even at UND, he dishes more often than shoots.
  15. Chicago isn’t scoring as much this year, which isn’t a huge surprise without Perron, Livanavage and Cellibrini.
  16. College hockey as a whole is more balanced, which is why blue bloods will miss the tournament here and there and won’t win championships every five years. BC is finally back, which most people used as a comparison.
  17. Hope they don’t have a Russian senior next year with the ongoing Ukraine situation.
  18. Which tells you gfhockey isn’t really a fan but a message board antagonist. Most fans would revel in the joy that guys like Gaber and Ness exhibited, even if it could be fleeting with a loss down the road.
  19. This begs the question, if the perceived hand pass didn’t lead directly to the goal, and Minnesota had possession of the puck at some point, could it have been overturned?
  20. Now he dilemma is do you give him one game off next week, and get Hedquist some more game experience, or try keep the roll going. Would guess Zmolek will get some extra rest now.
  21. Shocked that Western didn’t ask for a review. Makes you appreciate our guys up in the booth.
  22. Yeah, that was a total buzzkill, along with Denver getting a part of the NCHC title the following week, along with the top seed in the NCHC playoffs.
  23. …and they scored 13 goals against us, but only have 3 goals in the last 3 games. Weird is an understatement.
  24. Actually, they play a lot like a bunch of old time Sioux teams— play very aggressively, and take their fair share of penalties because of that aggressiveness. Wish we would be that relentless on a more consistent basis. I was surprised how many 50/50 puck battles we lost last night. Need to turn that around tonight to get at least a share of the title.
  25. They play Miami next week, then I assume they would probably need to win their first round playoff series, which could be against another NCAA bubble team.
