  1. Even if you brought in Lindberg, that would be 8 guys, and like people have mentioned it might be wise to bring in a 9th because of Zmolek's injury. I think it would be smart to hold off Lindberg for another year and let him develop in the USHL like Laurilla did. Besides, it might be wise to bring in a Junior defenseman to even out the classes, as it is most likely you could lose Livanavage and Wiebe to the pros after next year, leaving you with no Senior defense, unless Zmolek gets another year because of his injuries. So it is possible they could bring in a couple guys if they held off Lindberg.
  2. That Luke Ashton from Minnesota State is a big boy at 6’6 and had a decent freshman year.
  3. So Brady Cleveland had a no contact with his portal entry, is Komzak leaving because someone else is coming in and he saw the writing on the wall.
  4. 3 more freshmen, or 3 including Klee and Zellers?
  5. Considering one of his biggest assets is his speed, probably not a great injury to have.
  6. I think they have shown under Ferschweiler that they are always going to be a tough team to play, especially in their own building. I am hoping UND gets back to their identity, and can become a team that is known for bringing it every shift game in and game out.
  7. They also have something that they have never had before in their programs history -- a target on their backs. How they handle that and whether guys like Slukynsky and Nehring can duplicate their seasons will go a long way in determining whether they can defend their league title and make another run. I think the big thing is that they have a system that they play, and Ferschweiler seems to be able to get them to play it.
  8. Nobody thought they were loaded this year, including Schlossman. We've seen how team chemistry can change quite a bit from one year to the next, and I would imagine that would be even moreso when the portal is used extensively.
  9. Might be a nice line with Strinden at center and Swanson on the other wing.
  10. Pritchard?
  11. Looking at the plans, I see a couple 9 story parking garages. I think that is where the Ralph is severely lacking. Having to walk numerous city blocks in 30 below wind chill makes one question why they don’t stay at home.
  12. That would make sense, as you would think someone who has played all year would be in the lineup for your playoff game if available.
  13. Nick Schmaltz with goal # 20 tonight. He joins Boeser, Nelson and Pinto in getting to 20 this year. Would live to see Blake get 3 in his last few games to join the club.
  14. Would be interesting to know if he’s had injuries, or if he has been out of the lineup on occasion for other reasons. Not everyone who bleeds green is a perfect fit. Certainly they must have regretted giving up too early on other recruits, so waiting another year certainly wouldn’t hurt if progress goals are communicated.
  15. Which gives you the situation like with Perron and OMac. Playing for one team while in talks with another team for the following year. Even PJ Fleck would have a hard time Rowing the Boat in the same direction.
  16. Could force some schools not to dabble in the middle of the road players and instead go to their current recruits to see who is ready. Wishful thinking, but if that happened, then less portal transfers would find a home making it an even bigger gamble to enter. Honestly don't know what can be done, but it would be nice if it became a less common occurrence. Maybe with the addition of Major Junior players, more transfer guys might get left out in the cold.
  17. Since everything is getting to be more like pro sports anyway, the team losing a player if it is of the players volition should get some compensation.
  18. But you didn't answer the question.
  19. Didn't realize he started coaching so soon after our Championship season.
  20. Does St. Clair have 7 years coaching experience?
  21. You’re right it is strictly going by box scores. I would much rather he stay and play a year in juniors, but if people are trying to flip him to play next year, I would consider whether they can get him up to speed playing both ways. For sure box scores only give you part of the picture, but it can give you a look at whether someone is even being able to get their shot off or not, and the +/- can give you a glimpse whether they are more productive than they are a liability.
  22. Not only that, but a lot of it is who they are playing against. BU, BC, Michigan, Minnesota, and other elite bigger schools are already getting most of the super elite players, and if they start winning championships it might get even harder to pull some of them away from the top schools.
  23. It would be great if that is his plan. I just don’t want to lose him like Michigan State did with Cullen Potter.
  24. Simpson with another goal tonight, while Pilgrim wasn’t in the lineup. Am guessing Simpson is being approached by some teams to play next year. Not sure if he wants to play another year for his own development, but the coaches better be on top of things because he appears to be closer than others as an option.
  25. I would take at least getting there again.
