So he didn’t have to shake our coaches hands. Like I said, glad Arizona State signed him to an extension because any coach that can’t accept the other team outplayed his and needs to use refs as an excuse will have a team that isn’t accountable either.
-
Depends on what you mean by playing a full 60. They didn’t play well, with mistakes for a period or so, but I think the effort was there. Every team is going to have lapses and poor play, but for the most part it wasn’t like Arizona State was all over us.

Maybe, the announcers said Portland, but maybe they were wrong since he was drafted there.
-
Watching Hockey Day in Minnesota, and very impressed with Maverick McKinnon. For a freshman, he is very poised. Be interesting to see how he does with Portland in the WHL next year.
-
Perhaps we know where their announcers get it. Don’t think 5100 people saw it that way, because I still couldn’t tell with replays. The contact to the head of the UND player was much more obvious, and UND received a penalty for calling that out. Personally, I am glad that Powers signed an extension, because I think they could get a really good coach that would really put them over the top with some recruiting advantages.

Funny how when Reschny barking at the refs was whining and was due the penalty he got because they were warned, but later when ASU was barking from the bench and penalty box they didn’t mention the thought of an unsportsmanlike conduct was due to be called.

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

How great of a pick up was Rickwood in the portal? Was showing his worth early in the year with his experience and faceoff ability, but he has taken it to a new level after Christmas and really since coming back from his injury. Love his game, so unselfish. -
Would love to see the Jets get Keaton Verhoeff or even Carson Carels if he decides to come here. I have a feeling the Jets will find a little steam and not finish quite that low though.

If coaching was good you can turn around things fast, but that assumes holding on to the talent you do have, players making steps from their current games, and actually showing a little character and passion. Don’t know if accelerating certain talented recruits will help in the short term, as experience means something, especially on the back end.
-
Yeah, hopefully he and Strinden can get back on a roll through the National Championship game!
-
Would think they will try to improve NIL to try lure some. The Big Ten itself will help a bit, but yeah they are behind other teams for Canadian talent.
-
I worry about ASU getting real cheap tomorrow. Powers’ teams have had that penchant in the past.
-
Does anyone know their background in hockey? They come off as the casual fan that is looking for a penalty any time a player is hit and falls down. Not saying that was the case with the Strathmann hit, but I watched it several times and couldn’t come to a concrete conclusion either way.
-
Denver at 13 and St. Cloud at 15. Huge game for both tomorrow.
-
Would have loved to hear from Jackson on the postgame show on the radio. Maybe he has more to say to his guys in a game like this which didn’t allow much time.
-
So Wiebe gives up a breakaway goal to make it 6-4, then when they are ahead 7-4 he remains down deep in the offensive end with only a couple minutes left. All around bad night for the defense.
-
Didn’t they change the rules this year where grabbing the facemask isn’t an automatic five? If you watch that play, Kernan didn’t tug on it and actually tried to disengage.
-
It’s like we went back to the first night against Duluth. Just like with Duluth, you need to deny the cross ice passes, but we allowed it time and again. How did we go from the defensive game last weekend to this? Thought Keaton would have learned that throwing it up the center of the ice like he was criticized for in the World Juniors can possibly cost you a championship down the road. Two more huge turnovers up the gut tonight. Don’t want to be too critical of him, as even Emery almost got burned by leaving a guy totally alone in front of Homer to engage on the boards when everyone else was already there. Lot of defensive breakdowns tonight. Hopefully they can get back to how they played against Denver. We won, which is great to say when you have an off night on the defensive side of things.

“Always” being a whopping 2 game series last year.
-
Yeah, and it wasn’t easy when you were younger pushing that triple-wide shovel, especially pushing a ton of snow with it.

Even back in the day the Grand Forks teams could compete with top Minnesota teams. If memory serves, when Minnesota was one class, Roseau won the state title and only lost 2 games all year, one to Red River, the North Dakota state champion. Chris Gotziaman and Billy Lund were on Roseau that year, and Blais was head coach. Was the Corey Campbell and Chad Skarperud team for Red River.
-
Would imagine he will be taking Strinden’s #21, and most likely will be on the top power play unit as well. He seems to be doing really well on the power play for Youngstown.
-
It’s just that yours are wrong the majority of the time, and they surprisingly are right when the news comes out elsewhere before.

What are you a 2 year old? I was for Central, but I can be objective. Was Moorhead jobbed when Mickelson was called for retaliation after the Central player was holding him?
