  1. Yeah, that's a can of worms I don't want to open.
  2. It boils down to whether they can get it done or not. If they get it done, everything is great, if not, they basically have nobody that becomes a Senior from that class and don't have that upper class leadership that is so invaluable. Trying to think of a first round pick playing college right now that I would take over having a Drake Caggiula. Sometimes freshmen don't learn fast enough that you need to bring it every game. Like I said, it certainly will be interesting to see how it all pans out for BU.
  3. Wow, if this list came to be, Boston University would have 5 first round picks. While that is unbelievable, you really have to be able to maneuver your roster in future years not knowing when some of these guys will be leaving. It is a good problem to have in a way, but with so many teams winning with a good core group of upperclassmen, you have to wonder if this will pan out for them.

Maybe he bailed on us because of the "Fire the Coach" mentality that seems to be pervasive. Fire Hak? Just asking. We saw all of the things that Hakstol added to the program to get it more exposure and remain a dominant team, nevermind his relentless recruiting efforts, only to continually have to put up with the Fire Hak crap. Loyalty goes both ways, and if you treat someone who was as successful as Hakstol, minus the National Championship, like that, why should they stay when they have an opportunity? To be honest, I am surprised it took 3 offers and some arm twisting to get Hakstol to take the Philadelphia job.
  5. Is Motzko holding out hope he might have a chance at the gopher job after Lucia leaves? He was noticeably quiet after bad calls last weekend, compared to the weekend before against UND.
  6. Yeah, but since it was a gopher he isn't by nature cheap, just someone who wasn't thinking for a brief moment, a small lapse in judgement.
  7. That's the problem, the way the NCAA works, they won't make a decision until after the season is over. As I recall, the decision that St. Clair had to sit his first year came late as well, and the NCAA most likely will consider that his extra year, because when has the NCAA ever been fair on appeals, especially where UND is involved.
  8. The question is, would a fresh St. Clair with his work ethic, outweigh a seasons worth of conditioning and chemistry with linemates, especially if he wouldn't be available until playoff time. He might mean that much to the team, I don't know, but I trust the coaches will.
  9. I just find it interesting that Lucia doesn't like the early recruiting with his reasoning being that kids don't develop and then end up not getting a scholarship, yet now he doesn't want to make room for the late developing kids. To me it just goes to show that his talk all about the kids is a joke. He didn't like the gentlemen's agreement because he is no gentleman and these disingenuous and two-faced arguments confirm that.
  10. According to Schlossman, St. Clair won't be back until February, and Hennessey thinks March. If that is the case, do you all of a sudden change your lineup with someone who isn't up to game pace and conditioning? Don't know if the NCAA will give him a redshirt either, and won't know about that until after the fact, so do you take that chance. Hopefully he heals ahead of the pace projected and can get him back down the stretch and playoff run. Can use his tenacity on the penalty kill.
  11. Christian Cakebread really starting to pick up the scoring pace in the BCHL. Outside of the really elite like Jost, his PPG are quite high in the league so far.
  12. You mean that program that Craig Bohl deemed a step up from NDSU in relation to getting to the top of the coaching mountain? We can't help it if he brought that program down.
  13. ... but you said they should have won even with the injuries!
  14. Sounds like you said even with the injuries they should have won, so I would think that means everybody picking up the slack. Just saying maybe you should address your quote to someone other than the fans if you think more could have been done to win those games.
  15. You said not making the playoffs is on them for losing to a team like Idaho State.
  16. Maybe you should text him and let him know "it's on them"! Maybe you can point out a bad coaching decision in that game against Idaho State, or a missed tackle by Ratelle.
  17. Agree with this. Sometimes winning is a progression, so it would have been nice to get that playoff experience this year. Hopefully we can bypass that progression. The positive is that Bubba can still use this as a recruiting benefit, explaining to recruits how close they were and how they will be out to make up for it next year. Hopefully he can get out on the road and steal a few recruits from some of those playoff teams, while they are tied down with game planning.
  18. Yeah, isn't it ironic that the reason UND isn't in the playoffs is because Bohl's team is so bad!
  19. We'll be looking closely at your posts from here on out to see if you complain about officiating, because remember, there will always be that argument that if they would have done this better, or that better, officiating wouldn't matter.
  20. I am comparing the way they scream in rage at the officials the same. As far as Andy Murray goes, he said he can't believe officials listen to the coaches and not just drop the puck, yet he is the first to go on and on after a call.
  21. But Western Illinois got beat by that same team by a worse score and had a worse record.
  22. Just a side note, are Andy Murray and Bob Motzko the Bo Pellini's of college hockey?
  23. The announcers went on about Portland State wins against 2 FBS schools, and we beat them. We have an FBS win, are currently on a roll and lost one of our games to the 4-time champ. Sounds like they need to use a Pairwise ranking so you know that it isn't behind the scenes stuff going on.
  24. Especially if they are trying to create something that will not have any hint of offensiveness or controversy.
  25. I kind of liked it when the black jerseys only came out when they needed a critical win, not every second night on the road. It seemed like every time they came out under Hakstol, they played inspired hockey. Not so much tonight. Maybe it's just a matter that the players really like the black jerseys, and Berry has a different viewpoint on where the inspiration really comes from.
