  1. Let me guess, you like the Steven A. Smith, in your face type of guy or a guy that puts phony emotion into a game! I guess I would ask you the same question, who would you propose that would want the job? I bet whomever you would say, would be met with derision by some, because people have different tastes.
  2. I guess I would like to know who you think they should get. Hammer has worked with Tim O'Keefe, and has done a good job with UND football. Maybe nobody else applied, or maybe being the voice of Sioux hockey isn't the dream of everyone that is a hockey broadcaster. It says something that this is a dream job for Dan Hammer, and I have no doubt that he will put that passion into the job. Not sure you can say that about other people. I guess what it comes down to, is that different people have different tastes, because how else do you account for Frank Mazzocco.
  3. It looked to me like they were putting in a ramp to access it more directly if you are coming from Minneapolis. I always thought it was odd that you had to drive through town a bit to get to the outlets instead of a direct exit.
  4. That's kind of what I was getting at. I know there are a lot of hoops to go through for the interchanges and such, but it just sounded like they were saying everything would be way down the line until they figure all that out. By that time, Fargo finds a spot that already has an interchange, and then you aren't going to have two outlet malls that are successful that close to one another. Why not get a frontage road directly from the 32nd avenue interchange going and then do the best you can to fast track the interchange. If the traffic is there on the frontage road, I'm sure the need will be shown to speed things up a bit at all levels.
  5. Yeah, the Canadian traffic is probably the impetus for the recent talk by a developer of an outlet mall by 47th ave. south. The problem with that is that they are looking for an interstate interchange there, and we know how likely that is to happen in a timely manner. As usual, Grand Forks will twiddle their thumbs and Fargo will beat them to it and garner more Canadian traffic down there. If Grand Forks would be proactive, they could keep even more Canadians from driving another hour south. Hopefully they move on that as well as the Walmart.

    2012 early look

Apparently UND is the gold standard for NDSU since many are preoccupied by everything UND.
  7. Only, we don't have quite as much room for improvement, after all Cary Eades is no John Hill. Out of respect for Cary, mentioning them in the same sentence seems very odd.
  8. I think it started when some goofy administrator or something decided we had to copy the end of the Minnesota rouser because they obviously thought it was cool to improve spelling during a game setting. Total fail in my eyes. Come up with something original.

    Buy or Sell

... and this is based all from one run to a National Championship. It was not something special before the run, in fact it built with each playoff round as the bandwagon jumpers started jumping aboard. Not saying there is anything wrong with that, as I am sure that will be the case if UND starts to do something at this level, but let's face it, with those kind of people, you struggle at all or even win with less excitement and those people can just as easily jump off. One just has to look at Bohl's popularity to know how fast things can change.
  10. Big difference between characterized as a golden goose and a money pit.
  11. So, Hakstol and Eades are American Citizens, yet gopher fans still rail on the Canadian thing. Just sayin'! Oh, and by the way, when Nanne played with the gophers, he was Canadian.
  12. Guess this is the quote I should have referenced, so actually with this quote, it really isn't an out of left field comment. Just saying the beloved Lou Nanne is Canadian.
  13. It never ceases to amaze me how gopher fans wanted Parise so bad and have such an affection for Lou Nanne, and still profess an unbelievable hatred for Canadians. Guess what, Nanne and J.P. Parise were Canadians! Maybe somebody should tell Wally Shaver that as well.
  14. Lou Nanne said today that information he knows leads him to believe there is zero chance that Parise stays in New Jersey. Sometimes certainty like that would lead me to believe he could go back, but this time I have a feeling Parise may move on.
  15. Funny that the name Lomackman disappeared before the name watchmaker49 came about. Might be wrong, but it seems quite coincidental that both post with an in-your-face attitude.
  16. The thing is you never know what you are getting with any goalie until they prove themselves. Even then, confidence is a fickle thing. Eidsness had that stretch where he didn't look very confident a few years ago, but came back strong last year. I can see both goalies playing if Dell leaves to see who is going to exhibit that confidence. I know friends in Fargo said that Gothberg had issues giving up a bad goal then made saves that you wouldn't expect many goalies to make. Maybe he corrected that later in the year, but he will have to bring that confidence to the college level, because I have a feeling that many that have high expectations for Gothberg will be ripping him to no end if he gives up a bad goal a game. It is nice to have that base talent to draw from, and hopefully confidence won't be an issue for any of our goalies, including Dell if he chooses to come back.
  17. Saw he got drafted last weekend.
  18. Does he not want to play in the Big Ten? One has to wonder why he would exclude only Wisconsin, which to be honest, has done a great job developing defensemen that have done quite well at the next level.
  19. Would be a smart move if they would ever tune them to out of town games so patrons can actually watch something in the concourse in between periods. Realize that some need to be tuned in for advertising, but how about throwing actual college hockey fans a bone by having on a few games.
  20. Sioux hockey brings in way more money even with the higher salaries paid to Hakstol and company. The funny thing is that this poll comes up directly after the Bison win a "National" Championship, and the Sioux haven't won a National Championship in a while. How do you even know if your vote goes through, because after I hit the vote button it didn't take me anywhere. Shouldn't it take you to the results?
  21. Nick Ebert's stock certainly has fallen since joining Windsor a few years back. When he was one of the younger players in the USHL, he was projected pretty high, and he ended up being the last player taken in this years draft. I think Schmaltz made a wise decision, and I hope his brother does the same. Don't believe the lies.
  22. Add Jaden Schwartz to that. Gotta love the college flavor of the Blues.
  23. A lot of those same teams are going to be in the NCHC, so what "fun" teams were you referring to, Minnesota and Wisconsin?
  24. Then the Blackhawks must not like us because Joe Gleason has been all over the place.
  25. Would Jessie Martin have had better vision of the puck without putting his head down so much had he been using a visor? A lot of it is pure speculation, but I would think that puck vision with visors would be a little better than with the full face shields. How much that goes in offsetting some of the advantages of full face shields is a matter of opinion.
