University of North Dakota Hockey 2016 - 2017 Season
tnt replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
The game against Union could be huge. If we could somehow find a way to beat them and they beat Boston University before all of their players come back from the WJC, that could really give us a nice pairwise boost. -

Why does Minnesota try to market themselves as the "State of Hockey" then? Obviously not marketing geniuses, although you certainly know how that feels to be shortchanged in intellectual capacity. -

"This game was a microcosm of what next year will probably look a lot like.... " This quote makes it sound like you aren't very high on this roster, without Boeser, because we have been without Boeser for a while now. -
The most frustrating part is that we had taken momentum of the game over five on five, then we have a chance to do the same on the scoreboard and it ends up costing us the momentum and the game. I would like Schlossman to do a little research on how bad we have been on five minute majors. Somehow I don't think St. Cloud would go scoreless on 12 minutes of power play, much less hardly any shots. Where was the desperation we saw when the goalie was pulled? It shouldn't take a marquee game to have the motivation to win. Rant over.

I'm guessing that UND must see some benefit if they are bidding Sioux Falls. Perhaps the benefit is that they think the NCAA won't put a regional in the same place two years in a row, so they can bid on a different place every year.

I am sure the Minnesota Wild would have preferred that Parise not play in the World Cup of Hockey after his injuries down the stretch last year, but sometimes the allure of playing for your country and having another lifetime experience is going to play into your decisions.

When you only get a few shots on net, what do you do? Do you tell guys to skate around at neutral ice and not try score. If you ask me that is an embarrassment too! Now if he kept throwing his first line out on power plays or didn't utilize his other lines more than his top units, I would certainly question his sportsmanship. Not knowing the particulars, I won't be the first to cast the stone at him.

He realized he has fallen leaps and bounds behind Dave K and needed something juicy to try regain his rightful place in the trolling hierarchy!
-
When is Keller coming back? He was their best recruit.
-
But we don't have road playoff experience yet, and getting another home playoff game is hardly a given when you look at how Portland State and Northern Arizona dropped from year to year. Those same teams we stunned with miraculous comebacks this year will be ready to even the score next year.
-
Yeah, I'd plan for 9000 UND fans, and 20 gopher fans! I'm sure we had more fans in New York than they had at home last night.
-
Everyone knows there are turning points that specifically don't cost you the game, but change the total complexion of the game. If UND, would have lost to BC in hockey last night, how many people would have said it was Gardner's penalty that cost us the game? They could have killed the penalties, yet it was a turning point that turned the whole tenor of the game.

Is Gersich ok? He got his legs taken out late in the game and was slow getting up.

You mean this Connie Triplett? https://www.sayanythingblog.com/entry/gerald-groenwold/ Also, talking about militarization, didn't her husband get in trouble for pulling a gun on someone years ago. And refresh my memory, didn't they get in trouble for not evacuating during the flood when they were supposed to? Here's something Connie, you might want to just fade into the sunset of your career and call it a day.

Hopefully they'll be full of themselves and turkey.

Yeah, maybe they need some actual subzero temperatures, so she can actually be telling the truth about subzero temperatures. Show us those subzero temperatures Shailene.

Wal-Mart proposing second Grand Forks location
tnt replied to fightingsioux4life's topic in Community
http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/4165507-fargo-developer-explores-massive-outlet-mall Is this a missed opportunity for Grand Forks? How many more Canadians will bypass Grand Forks to go to Fargo? -
Just curious, is it posable you have a degree from NDSU?

Wouldn't it be priceless to see everybody that wanted Tomek to play recently do a complete 180 if Berry put him in against Michigan State and they fell behind by 3 early. The irony would be classic considering the reaction to Hakstol playing Cam against Lake Superior a few years back.
-
Were you at the last home game that gave us the possibility of setting up a home playoff game? That was in essence a home playoff game and the attendance wasn't what it should have been. If student attendance was bad at that game, what do you think it will be like if they have to pay?

Wilkie has committed to CC. I am assuming he is related to Chris since he's from Omaha.

Went there with the work crew recently and nobody was blown away, especially bang for the buck. Everyone agreed Wild Bill's would still be the go to place.

Shouldn't the Betty have been full for volleyball yesterday? Maybe the footballers can't think logically and show up. See how that works!
-
...and I might add why there is a big learning curve for this team to make in all aspects.

Lot of people have made those bold statements in the past, only having to eat crow. There run was supposed to end years ago when they lost to Illinois State in the regular season. Hoping that happens this year, but until it does I don't know how anyone can be so bold.
