  1. Didn't catch that the first time around, thought you were down on Peski, but now that I see your reference it rang a bell for me as well.
  2. ...and hopefully the rest of the team knows it will take everybody chipping in to be successful, because they can't rely on super talents like Jost/Boeser to make a game changing play anymore when the game is on the line.

The way the players talked after the game about maybe that is what they needed, has me wonder if they have that drive necessary to capture the ultimate prize. They were back talking about National Championships yesterday. Championships? Championships? While I like the confidence, the bluster needs to be backed up. They have seen the path to winning championships for many years by the Bison, and that goes through home field advantage. In order to get that home field advantage, you can't have weeks like last week. If anything, this goes to show how impressive the Bison run has been. If anyone should have been overconfident and eventually lose to some very good opponents, it is the Bison. Having to play those schools year after year and seldom missing a beat is crazy, especially when you look at the mind of a college student. Let's get back on track and have the mindset of a champion every week from here on out.
  4. I am guessing we may have issues scoring goals at times, unless we can get more scoring from the back end that was prevalent a couple years ago. Hopefully, all the freshmen from last year can take a step forward in that regard. It really is impossible to know how all of the new freshmen will acclimate to the college game, so it is hard to say what kind of year we will have. If Cam is a rock we should be in every game, but I am guessing we will be 2nd or 3rd in our league, which could put us on the bubble of the NCAA tournament with the Big Ten being a little better this year.
  5. But in college sports if you aren't putting money into a program it is much harder to get results. Tell me how easy it would be to keep putting a very competitive team on the field if the money coming into the program could no longer support FCOA? I know you don't look at that as your concern, which is fine with me, because I am hoping someday the throngs of fair weathers that are part of the Bison crowd will help bring the program down a notch after some less than stellar play.

This is exactly what he is trying to accomplish.

I saw the same game you did, which included being dominated in every area. How are you going to single out who needs to be fired? I think this is just one of those games where they weren't quite prepared mentally to know what they were going to face. If this wasn't an aberration, then those kinds of issues on both sides of the ball may lead one to believe we aren't heading in the right direction period. I choose to believe that despite being warned, the players weren't heeding the warning and thus had it handed to them. We've seen this in every sport, if you aren't ready to play at this level, even to an inferior team you will have trouble winning, and South Dakota is a very good team!

    Overreact much?
  9. Not everyone wants to go for a graduate degree, so if he wanted to get into his hockey career, whatever level that may be, more power to him. Don't think another year at UND would change his hockey path, so why not play, get paid and have your degree to fall back on.
  10. Matej Tomek with an 18 save shutout for Waterloo in preseason game tonight.
  11. Thought someone said he graduated already.
  12. To be fair, that is probably why they are taking these early commitments now, because they probably waited too long in offering guys like Adam Johnson, Riley Tufte, and Joey Anderson. It is a crap shoot knowing who is going to turn out and who isn't. I'm sure UND has waited too long on some of those guys too. Mitchell Mattson looked like he had first round potential at one point, but hasn't lived up to those expectations yet. I would guess had Kunz not visited Minnesota, UND may have waited to offer him, but that is the new reality for a lot of teams. I think the main thing is that there are so many great, well-coached players in each age group, that you can never get all of the ones that turn out to develop a little better.
  13. Do you have to enter your credentials before each game, or a one time thing?
  14. Ethan James Jimmy WalkerCole Reyes
  15. Even if that wasn't the case, I would much rather a quarterback put a little more air under the ball and make his receiver pull up, than overthrow him on a wide open play. You can carry the momentum over from a long pass and catch, whereas it is almost demoralizing missing a wide open receiver completely.

    Moo U diaries

Not quite sure what the situation was, but what was the reason Clive Georges and Zach Arnell weren't afforded another year of eligibility while Deluca was. What is the criteria for the NCAA making these decisions?
  17. For sure, we need to have as many freshmen as possible contributing early so we don't start out behind the eight ball in the pairwise. With only 2 years, Jones needs to make the best of them, so hopefully he is one of the ones we can count on for production and responsibility in his own end from the get go.
  18. I don't know, if you look at page 26 of this thread, it looked like he was almost an afterthought for a lot of people.
  19. That is a good question not only for this game, but for many. What is the breaking point? It is a fine line that UND has to walk with this going forward, not only with single game tickets, but with season tickets. We have already seen apathy in other fan bases across the country, and even in the student fan base here for many games. You definitely want to keep the arena full to continue to perpetuate the success that UND has had. Without that success you will see the demand go down dramatically. We see how fast apathy can creep into a fan base, as witnessed by Wisconsin which had such a passionate fan base. Hope UND can walk that fine line and keep the success going and keep that apathy out of our fan base.
  20. Heard he is going to work for "The Athletic" a new online venture of sports content.
  21. In the Grand Forks Herald supplement "Grand Forks, a Thriving Community", Brad Berry said Brandon Bochenski is moving to Grand Forks now that his playing career is done.
  22. But it is kind of ironic that thousands of people were crying because they couldn't purchase tickets at that price to the game against Minnesota in Las Vegas next year. Maybe if they hadn't been so vocal, they might not have been so apt to ask for so much for this series.
  23. Agree we held our own in the old building, but not so sure we won most recruiting battles against Minnesota during those years.
