It's pure economics. You may end up saying the same about your country when the out of control spending hits a point of no return. The cuts that will need to be made then will end up hurting you a lot worse. Did you plan to ever retire?

All people that are season ticket holders for men's hockey get in free. I know because I went to many games.
-
I blame most of this on the people that wouldn't take no for an answer on instituting women's hockey. Tim and Swyg talked endlessly about it being a black hole and it fell on deaf ears. They said all it needed to do was get going like women's basketball and I believed them. If anything the attendance is going down even though people get in free. If anyone should be ashamed it should be the crusaders that wanted a program without regards to it's financial viability.

I'm guessing that Idalski wasn't totally oblivious to what was going on around him if some people on this board were thinking it was a strong possibility it could be cut. I think if my contract was up and there was silence on the renewal, I would be addressing it with my superior.

I'm guessing that if Women's hockey doesn't get more competitive fast, it won't be an Olympic sport for long.

So wasn't there talk about dumping Women's Hockey as an Olympic sport because there are only 2 or possibly 3 teams that can compete? This could even create a bigger gap if they are paid that much when other countries are playing out of love of country. How long before the sport gets dumped from the Olympics, and then if it does do they still pay them to train for the World Championships?

I still remember Woog's response to that goal, "At what point can you put the puck on your head and carry it down the rink?". I know this is news to you Doug, but checking is allowed in men's hockey! Funny, we haven't had to worry about Doug's concern, although no doubt Evan Trupp was probably contemplating that as an encore for his Final Five beauty.
-
What was his response? Seems like there are no journalists left, just people that want to push their agenda.

So talking about an area where people think there should be changes, whether it's sour grapes or not should not be brought up on a message board. People rip on players left and right on this message board, but that's fine, but heaven forbid you question a rule that came back to haunt you.
-
Nothing is going to change early departures or Dane leaving either. So if I look back at your posts, I won't find you talking about bad calls or penalties on other teams or lack thereof? If that's the case, fine, but if not, I find it odd you are telling people on this board what they should or shouldn't discuss. Maybe you should bring this foolish posting up with the moderators. Oh, wait, one of them created the thread you're ironically complaining about.

Which is why losing guys like Luke Johnson and Keaton Thompson early hurt. Having Thompson sure would have helped after Poolman went down. Our power play might have been just enough better to make a difference.
-
Not if you go by some on this board who are projecting us to be in CC status should Jost leave.
-
His mom was pretty adamant that Joe Sakic wants him badly, but hopefully the development and another year of education wins out over somebody trying to get more wins no matter the cost. Just pointing out that a few guys don't make up a team and shouldn't be the sole reason whether guys come back or not, be it here or Western Michigan.
-
But I was addressing the premise that if a couple guys leave, why stay because you won't be nearly as good. Development is one reason to stay, as is school, which is partly why you went that route in the first place.
-
I don't know, any reason for Jost to stay if Boeser and Poganski leave?
-
They could always get AFLAC. Seriously, I know in the past players had insurance policies, but not sure how prevalent it is now.
-
That makes sense. Forgot he wore 23.
-
Did Gardner lose a bet leading to him having to wear a USA jersey?
-
Remember when Matt Frattin had 5 and a game then was also suspended a game for a hit against Wehrs?. Don't remember if there was contact to the head on that one. And that was before the ultra emphasis on player safety.
-
What about Ludvig Hoff, is he skating?
-
Hoping they Do Little against UND.
-
No doubt they are playing better defensively, but I would guess Western can say the same thing. The highest ranked pairwise team they played in those 17 games was at 25, and they didn't beat them. Definitely no time to overlook anybody though because upsets happen quite frequently.
-
Maybe Faison deserves a raise as well because we never would have got to the Dance if he went by prevailing wisdom.
-
So he was a terrible coach that deserved to be fired up until then, and now because he had a couple good months he should be paid more than Bubba? I wouldn't complain about Brian Faison with that kind of philosophy.
