  1. Same here, which would possibly give us Omaha for two weeks in a row, which would be the same scenario for St. Cloud / Duluth. Could get ugly.
  2. Even so, they could be a scary team to face in the postseason. Duluth hasn't had great league finishes and still caught fire in the postseason. Could use a little help from them this weekend against Western Michigan.
  3. So can Berry make it clear to the team that because of those games, if they lose once this weekend they most likely won’t make the NCAA tourney short of winning the NCHC Faceoff? Of course it doesn’t seem to click until after it’s too late. It took them forever to focus in on playing well on Friday, well this weekend is a must if they want to keep up with other teams in the pairwise.
  4. But Covid had us playing Omaha without Sanderson.
  5. Just like playing Omaha without Sanderson did us no favors.
  6. Why would you have WMU as set at #2 when they aren’t even there now, and still have to play Denver at St. Cloud and here? We should have Sanderson back when we play Western, and they aren’t as dominant on the road. And if St. Cloud can’t return the favor to WMU, they may be fighting it out with Omaha for sixth. I definitely would rather play Omaha than St. Cloud though.
  7. But we play some of those teams above us and same goes for other teams. A sweep against Duluth or Western would go along way. If St. Cloud starts to beat those teams as well, things could change fast.
  8. I agree. Go back to overtime actually meaning something, then if tied after that use the gimmickry.
  9. I thought UND played them pretty well, just couldn’t put the puck in the net, and Bussi played pretty well. We’ll see how they play us here.
  10. No, UND doesn’t need this mentality. There is something called class, and the same way you don’t throw bombs in football when the game is in hand, you don’t load up your power play, unless the other team is being cheap. UND needs the mentality to get to the point where the games are in hand, and not going to shutdown hockey too soon.
  11. Win out? If we take care of business at home against UNO and CC, we can probably split the rest and win our first round playoff series and be about where we are now, if not better.
  12. It seems every game turned the wrong way for UND’s purposes.
  13. Shocker, Denver doesn’t get a 5 minute major for an obvious elbow to the head. How is that indirect contact?
  14. Then maybe a couple shootout losses for Denver against St. Cloud would be nice.
  15. https://www.nchchockey.com/tie-breakers#:~:text=Tie Breakers, will receive a Penrose Cup. Looks like it is not.
  16. But is that still the tie breaker if they only played in Grand Forks?
  17. That definitely will be the key. If they win all 4, they will be in good shape. If they lay an egg, then all bets are off. I would hope that with their pairwise ranking on the bubble, they would keep their nose to the grindstone, but who knows with the inconsistency we've seen. So, do we still hope for an NCHC title and hope for St. Cloud to beat Denver, or do we want Denver to win so we have an easier route to home ice?
  18. Two tickets each for Friday, 02/04 & Saturday 02/05 vs. Omaha. Section 302A, Row G, on the end UND shoots twice. $25 each ticket, sold in pairs. Text 701-330-8439.
  19. Would have been nice to have those jerseys when we went to Western Michigan!
  20. This is what worries me as well. If you would have told me at the beginning of the year that UND would be where they are at in the standings, I would have assumed it would be because they brought it hard every night and were buzzing from the start of the game. Would have assumed we would still have lost some games simply because we don’t have the finishers we had last year. I think they played well enough to win at Western, but lacked the finishing. If they start bringing it game in and game out from the drop of the puck, they could be formidable down the stretch. After all, that is a huge part of the culture that they always refer to.
  21. Mismash recently. Guess I like a lot of the UND guys like Kawaguchi and Weatherby and how they were able to destroy the elite Minnesota talent in their own building. Also love that UND sees the value of guys like Senden, whose uncle played for the gophers. I consider those guys as misses for Minnesota. Ditto for guys in the past like Connor Gaarder, Matt Henderson and Peter Armbrust, among many others.
  22. Schlossman said that 5 of Tech's losses came in OT, which basically makes them ties, which certainly explains why they are where they are at despite not having major wins. Still don't like that system, as I would like for teams to be dinged if they lose in overtime. Depending on your situation, you may just be trying to hold on to get to overtime.
  23. Time to go to some of the unsigned recruits and get their pulse as to perhaps not wanting to go to that type of environment.
  24. You missed the ones that are graduate, or GR.
