  1. Thank goodness, as Canisius was at number 2 before getting swept by Air Force according to the numbers on CHN, while we were at 7. We are at 4 now after sweeping Omaha.
  2. Should Berry check his ego for calling out Gabinet?
  3. No team chirps all game long even behind by 6. It happened late last year when they took a run at Pinto, and it is happening again. I happen to think Gabinet has a lot to do with that.
  4. Never mind, looks like he has already played Major Junior with Medicine Hat.
  5. Anyone know Cole Sillinger’s plans. He is a 2003 that is putting up 1.5 ppg with Sioux Falls, and almost a goal a game.
  6. If you would have told me after the Pod that we would clinch with 2 games remaining, I would have said you were crazy, now let’s push this big ball of oil out the window. (Seinfeld). Seriously, to do it early with our post Pod schedule is very impressive.
  7. ...and it also keeps Prokop out of the lineup so he can’t cheapshot anyone.
  8. A team takes on the personality of their coach, and the Omaha team takes on the lack of class of Gabinet. When you are continually jawing when you are getting throttled it is kind of hard to respect you.
  9. Slow starts aren’t a great recipe around tournament time. (See St. Cloud State giving major underdogs hope). The type of shutdown they have shown after the slow starts and Scheel getting us through until then is a good recipe for success. Hopefully they fix the slow starts and keep up the shutdown thereafter.
  10. Sounds similar to when we lost to Boston College in the National Championship in overtime. UND scored twice in the final minutes to tie it 2-2, then lost in overtime with all the momentum on their side.
  11. Will look even more foolish if he succeeds in Indy.
  12. At the 16:20 mark Alex talks about him playing with his brother. I saw another interview with him last week though and he talks about cherishing the games he has remaining, so not sure if he is coming back or not.
  13. Haven’t heard, but Poganski played in that game and another one as well.
  14. Yeah, usually you might have one freshmen make an impact, but most of the time you need to count on upperclassmen until they come around. It doesn’t help that other than Cruikshank they aren’t getting a lot of help in that regard.
  15. Didn’t CC have a highly rated class last year?
  16. Looking at Heisenberg's list of CC recruits, I am trying to figure out who in the eyes of a CC fan would be considered a "prized" recruit.
  17. That's what I thought too, but then I thought if a fan was just venting about the state of CC hockey and mentioning losing good recruits, he might have used that as an example of why they can't seem to get over the hump.
  18. It reminds me of the ushers when the Ralph first opened and asked to see a ticket stub -- in the upper deck mind you! My hands were full of concessions, so I put them on the ground, pulled out my ticket stub to show them, then told them if I was going to steal someone's seat, it would be in the lower deck. Use some common sense is right.
  19. He didn't travel due to undisclosed disciplinary reasons that Carle chose to keep in-house.
  20. Keep in mind, Denver was without Stapley, Olischefski, Crone, and Savoie, four of their 5 leading goal scorers, so what is your risk/reward in putting someone out there who isn't usually on the power play and hasn't scored much to begin with?
  21. Like I say, I would like to know what most coaches would do. All I know is how many of our fans would be all over Brad Berry if he pulled the goalie with 4 plus minutes left and the other team intercepts a pass and puts it into the empty net without even an opportunity on a 5 on 3?
  22. It would be interesting to know Brad Berry's philosophy on this. Personally, I think you are going to get just as many great chances with 5 guys, as you would with 6 since you practice that scenario. The 3 guys usually don't stray too much from their triangle. I guess for puck retrieval it would help, but the defense aren't likely to get locked up in the corner anyway, as they are usually quite passive in that situation. Bottom line is burying the chances you are bound to get 5 on 3. Was quite surprised he didn't up it back to a two man advantage once a UND skater came back though. Since most coaches rely heavily on analytics, I would bet they have some book as to where the biggest advantage comes, and when to pull the goalie in those situations.
  23. Exactly, let’s take care of home ice next weekend and not leave it to the final weekend like last year.
  24. If we won both games in o.t., that would put us at 48 points. If Duluth and St.Cloud still play CC, St.Cloud could get to 49 points, and Duluth 48.
  25. If those wins are in regulation, I think that would be the case.
