  1. I just called Midcontinent and ordered the sports package (actually it's 18 channels, most of them sports) It's $3.50 a month and it only takes a few minutes. I'm set to go for tonight.
  2. I watched him every day on MSNBC. Hope there's some way to hear/see him in Grand Forks.
  3. I'm not a nerd, but I'm an Imus fan. Does that count? And where can I hear him?
  4. In this same vein, Lucy Gange has has arranged for some "speakers" to come to campus on Tuesday morning to discuss the nickname and other recent events. Ron His Horse is Thunder, David Gipp, et al...By the way, how is it that she can stand to draw a paycheck from UND? Seems she's only outraged to a certain point.

    UND v GVSU

We're down by 21, we have the wind, and we hand off?
  6. "Eager"? That's your word. I read the newspaper cover to cover. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
  7. Does it seem odd to anyone else that Doreen Yellow Bird ignored this viewpoint of Mr. Fool Bear? Why wouldn't she address it with one of her countless, pathetic, pieces of drivel?
  8. Thanks for the update. I would have guessed Chappell was 50/50 and that Murray had no shot.
  9. While I don't know who the Sioux people are, or what their history is because of UND's sports teams, my knowledge of them has been supplemented immensely by UND's sports teams. To wit: The PA announcement before each home sporting event concerning the Sioux and why the name was chosen, the page in the game program devoted to the name, the Fancy Dancers from the Sioux Tribe that perform at many sporting events, the chanters that have performed at many games, the drum players from the Spirit Lake tribe that perform several times a year at sporting events. All of these are examples of things I would have never seen otherwise. Finally, UND was given permission by Tribal elders to use the name Sioux. I thought the Native American culture was based in the undying respect for their elders.
  10. Truer words have not been spoken. You can take this to the bank. But I give it less than 5 years.
  11. I find it amazing that Yellow Bird has been able to write about "incidents on campus" for so many years, but has never, ever once provided a SINGLE example. Nor do the UND police or Grand Forks police have any incident reports on hand that validate what she is stating as fact. Keeping in mind that her own newspaper has never followed up on any of her accusations. Wouldn't someone at the Herald say, "Doreen, those are some pretty strong accusations you're making, would you care sharing with our news department what exactly you're refering to?" And to compare His Horse is Thunder to Gov. Hoeven is laughable, calling them both spokesmen. One ignores the wishes of the majority he represents while the other carries out the wishes of those he represents. The Herald has been made to look foolish where Doreen Yellow Bird is concerned for many years. Her writings go unchecked in that newsroom. That's really sad, because all you really have at the end of the day is your credibility.
  12. Report of Minneapolis tonight is that he's out for the year.
  13. 27 days and counting...that's how long Bison fans have to try and make the Gopher football team look like a "Big Ten" team. It's going to be hard, since everyone has seen how terrible they are. I can't wait. Who would have thought that playing the Gophers was going to be similar to playing SUU?

Their first punt of the game?
  17. Actually, you're right. Harmeson introduced Kupchella to Buning while all three were at the Frozen Four in Columbus. So, from the very start, Buning was Harmeson's "guy". When it later becomes evident to Harmeson that the coaches in the department had a huge problem with Buning, Harmeson tried to "cleanly" cut ties with Buning, ie: "Let's have a joint press conference where we say "we've decided to go our seperate ways, etc, etc..."...But Buning says, "I'm not going down without a fight"...this worries Harmeson a great deal because he sees himself as the next President of UND, which is humerous in itself...If Buning starts slinging mud, there is no way that Harmeson escapes this mess without a fair share of it on his face, which ultimately costs him the small chance he had at being UND President. Finally, Kupchella is in some counrty far away that starts with a 'K' and he expected Harmeson to take care of this while he was gone. Sorry Chuck, your services and UND's checkbook are needed when you get back. You will have to cut ties with Buning and write the check.
  18. Does anyone have the Schneider fight from the last game at the Old Ralph vs. Manitoba?

    chris kuper

Kuper said on 'DAZ two weeks ago that the Broncos loved Mustard and considered him their best blocking tight end.
  20. I can only assume you were joking with this statement. State and District court cases do not get moved from state to state. As an aside, this truly shows the NCAA's arrogance: How did they think this was going to play out. They had to know that North Dakota was going to file a lawsuit, and if they thought it was going to be filed somewhere other than North Dakota, well, then they either are very arrogant or very stupid. Or both.

    Get Well Roger!

Roger Thomas suffered a heart attack today. He's at Altru and seems to be doing pretty well. This is his second heart attack. First was some time in the late 90's. Get well Roger.
  22. I wonder if we watched the same game. The game I saw had Japan winning 4-2.

    Oshie Watch?

This is true. But he's already done there working out for them.

    Oshie Watch?

I talked to an "inside hockey" guy today. He told me that Oshie just completed a very, very successful week-long developmental camp in St. Louis. Things went so well, that the Blues are putting the full-court press on him to change his mind, and from what I'm told, he's giving it some thought...again.
