  1. It's all about $$$. Although i don't know how much UofM will offer a new coach with all the buyouts they are paying right now.
  2. My guess is there will be no active recruiting but we have a former player now on our roster along with a former coach.
  3. The largest ROI for our athletic dept is men's basketball. More people would see them in a first round tourney game than any other sport/broadcast. It needs to be treated as such if a new higher should be made. Jones has done nothing to warrant a raise. Very good recruiter (even in the tundra) so far an average coach and player developer.

    2017 Season

You and a lot of others. I get he was our best running back two years ago but man he could be a weapon in the slot. His speed won't do us a lot of good when he is on the sidelines because JJ and #5 need to get their carries as well.
  5. Where? Who? I read the whole thread and only saw people comment on blowing a huge lead. Not winning
  6. Well I'm done watching for the night. Probably take more effort to get to bed than some of our players put forth tonight.
  7. Make a fhawking free throw.
  8. You mean run the offense through the post which we are clearly better than they are.
  9. I don't think they have an inbounds play. They just throw it to half court.
  10. Hey Coach Jones, they are switching every screen. Any adjustments? !@#$ it. Just let them play.
  11. Team looks lost and has no hustle. Seales gets the ball stripped and jogs back up the court. Find a coach these guys will play for. Sure isn't the one we have.
  12. Getting out hustled and out coached right now.
  13. Drick will be a double/double guy vs. Big Sky competition. Again, it is my opinion the league is down this season.
  14. UND has a better back court than nearly every team in the Big Sky and will get points in the paint vs Big Sky competition. Drick will be a double/double guy and Avants will be able to continue his recent play due to level of competition. We have better balance than every team in the league plus the conference player of the year.
  15. Yep, it's my opinion based on my observations up to this point in the season.
  16. I don't think they would beat Duke but I've watched enough of the Big Sky teams this season to have the opinion it will be embarrassing if we don't win the conference. I don't care what RPI or anyone else says. There are not many good teams in the Big Sky this season. Even you could take a quick look at the standings and schedules to realize this if you don't want to watch any games. Currently a total of two teams over .500. Lots of bad schedules. Never remotely said they would beat Duke but i fully expect out talented team to win our conference. If they don't, it's on the coaches. No excuses.
  17. Like the rest of us he sees we have the talent to win it this year. Coaching and discipline is what will hold this team back. No excuses not to win the big Sky this season.
  18. Preseason doesn't mean much halfway through the season. This is his current pick after everyone has played 10 The one they lost was who their offense ran through. Not easy to replace Bolomboy.
  19. Take away some cupcakes and they are averaging a little over 80 a game. They put up huge points vs Walla Walla, George Fox and New Hope Christian. Joe Lunardi agrees with me that we should win the Big Sky No excuses this is a down year for this league and UND needs to take advantage
  20. If we played more disciplined I would say we win this game. Unfortunately at this point what we have shown the last two games is what we are. Wonder why Portland St has to rely on transfers and can't get kids from the basketball hotbed of California out of high school?
  21. Get off to a good start. Would like to see discipline to start conference play but I think we are what we are at this point.
  22. I'm doing my part by spraying a can of hairspray outside everyday to hurry global warming. Since you claim weather is such a factor in recruiting I have my fingers crossed. Those Ca, Tx and Fl kids would line up to get here than. <-- extreme purple
  23. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-basketball/4186350-how-quinton-hooker-became-one-unds-all-time-greats Great article on a great player and even better person. Like I said in the other thread, if there is one area Jones has done a very good job it's getting great kids to UND (weather and all). Keep up the great work Quinton.
  24. Nope and moving to a warmer climate wouldn't either so it's about time you drop the weak excuse for Jones performance on his salary and location. I have gotten raises based on my job performance and accept that is how it works. I produce above average at my job and I get paid an above average salary. Same should apply to basketball coaches as well.
  25. Well than again I'd point at the man who recruits the talent. It's the same person and a huge bump in pay wouldn't make him a better recruiter either Personally, recruiting talent isn't an area I feel he has struggled. He's done a very good job with that.
