Big Sky and MVFC create Challenge Series
homer replied to BarnWinterSportsEngelstad's topic in Football
With four Dakota schools in the early conversation for playoff spots this game is big. 2-1 vs arguably the toughest non conference schedule between the four teams would look good later on. -
Tough to target the TEs more yesterday when Wanzik was having his at will. That said, they threw at them a number of times. More yesterday than I can remember all of last season.

- final non-conference game
- playoff implications

With this defense we will be ok up the middle vs the Big Sky but USD could really take advantage. Our two middle LBs look tiny. No chance Rastas is 200lbs.

Demon must have had an injury coming in. Didn't start and gave it one series and that was all. Hopefully the extra rest for him was precautionary.
-
I thought Rudy called a pretty good game today.

How big of a cluster !@#$ will it be when everyone tries to get in the game 10 minutes before kickoff? So many questions. Cant wait.

If any NDSU team other than football plays, does anyone in Fargo care?

We've all been holding out hope for one season + 1 game. (Minus the Richmond game) Went against the grain on that one

Unfortunately style points count for something in college football and just winning games by +1 that you could/should win by +10 adds up. Not asking for #chuckthepigskin guy. Just a playaction on 1st down every once in a while. Keep defenses honest. Especially when he has recruited the personnel to run those plays effectively.

I don't think you need to say he had a great game but holding him to a standard that few college QBs are doing isn't right either. Changing plays at LOS should happen, I agree. Calling plays in the huddle or changing plays (however you choose to word it) in the huddle isn't done by many QBs in college at any level. Rudolph needs to channel a little Mussman and open it up a bit for Studs. Studs also needs to take some chances on his own and throw the ball downfield. I think we agree on that.
-
Not aware of many college QBs calling their own plays in the huddle.
-
I agree with Oxbow. 27-24 UND i think it's a fun game for fans with some big plays both ways.

We all understand your women's basketball and volleyball teams are !@#!$.

It was an honest observation while watching the USD game. They are very, very good on offense. Big up front with a QB that improved a lot during the off season. No one is building them up. You watch their game?
-
Relax. It is ok to look at other teams on our schedule.
-
They will beat Bowling Green next week
-
Next two games are huge. USD offense looks very good. Strevler is such a good athlete. Next week vs Missouri St will not be a give me game. Crowd noise will be big.
-
I thought their panties just started to bunch up.
-
Secondary played pretty well yesterday. Holm was our best DB which is good/surprising.
-
I would add that our young OLB looked lost on a few plays. Polomberg and Jade both made some plays but there are plays that stick out that their youth showed. That will improve.
-
Yet rarely throws interceptions.

I get that we want to be a run first team but the staff needs to trust the offensive talent and throw the ball more early. Studs could win us a game if he had to, but we never put him in that position. Throw it on first and second down in the first and second quarters. The talent is there now. Especially if we put Santiago in the slot.
-
You can sure tell our LB crew is green. Need to get much better this year.
-
We won't win being this conservative. We aren't going to run at this defensive front.

West of Valley City? I would recommend airplane but you could try Uber.
