  1. Maybe his body language was “my shoulder really fucking hurts right now” and you read it wrong.
  2. This is big news. Sky was falling last week. A quiet start to this week and this news mid week is good for the program. Keeping your leader around and the comments from him make me think there is some alignment from those in the locker room that want to stay here.
  3. I don’t think anyone is upset with the kids. I believe the argument against NIL is how sustainable it is year to year, how college sports will be ruined with how this is now tied to recruiting, and the transfer portal being a part of it. Look past the short term financial benefit for athletes of some sports and tell me how sustainable college sports are for all student athletes.
  4. Almost….still couldn’t do it without trying to tie it to UND and it’s football staff.
  5. I’m not sure any finger pointing you can do here are towards the administration. As hard as you want to spin it…..this is on the fans like me and you.
  6. I agree with you and am not sure how well UND would complete. NIL was pushed by the larger states that have the schools that can support it. It’s not good for G5 and lower at any sport. Also, fans can be upset with schools but this one is all in fans. The UND athletic dept is doing what they can, and has a great collective going that gives them and their athletes an option. The big NIL money is all coming from fans and I give credit to Jay for working to get things going for NDSU. I don’t think paying a handful of players is good for a locker room but sitting back with no option is not good either.
  7. The crazy thing will be when (not if) a starter whose team is still playing in FCS playoffs leaves and enters the portal. With early signing day Dec 20th they are potentially leaving money on the table if they wait until January.
  8. Their WRs are making plays and they are playing really good complimentary football. It will be tough for USD to beat them again.
  9. Forgot about Jack. Not sure where he will end up but wish him well and more opportunities.
  10. Again only my opinion- I think he’s an impact player in the Mountain West conference. Could see some bigger opportunities but the injury doesn’t help him
  11. I’m not defending anyone but there has yet to be a player that left that truly surprises me. These are all my opinions- Two of them are going to get paid and have a chance at playing a higher level of football. One I believe the coaches had a difficult conversation and were honest with a player. One will transfer and likely not get as much playing time as he got here.
  12. What if he left because he’s better built to play DE in a 4-3? What if he left cause of NIL? it’s unfortunate UND is the only team to lose starting players to the transfer portal
  13. Saban has never lost anyone in the transfer portal.
  14. Guessing the special teams coordinator called it.
  15. Or likely aware that he can get up to 6 figures going elsewhere.
  16. Wasn’t aware Bubba calls the plays.
  17. More than just players talking about coaches? NIL opportunities from FBS are probably a big one. I expect Ben will get opportunities. His frame is better built for a program that runs a 4-3
  18. He was up and down. Had some really, really good games and some head scratchers. Lack of pressure up front really doesn’t help a CB. Still like the crew coming back if we retain all 4
  19. By having him set every passing record at UND
  20. I don’t see it being that rough. I understand Wes’ frustration. Lots of talent with limited opportunities. Plenty of recent examples of players that left UND to go sit on the bench at FBS schools. Keeping players around is as much on the team as it is the coaches.
  21. I know I’ll get jumped on as accepting the same old but this is exactly why the bigger schools wanted the transfer portal. You hope not to lose them but it’s going to happen, just can’t be full turnover on the OL.
  22. Not taking sides but it’s not like he didn’t have opportunities to make some plays this year. Don’t know enough about spring and fall camp to know if he should have had more.
  23. I can see what Danny was thinking to start the 4th……I’ll run playaction, catch them off guard and move the ball. Problem is as a team we want to score there but not score quick. Nothing wrong with what we had been doing to that point, pound the ball…..5 minute drive and get them the ball back with 10 minutes left and hopefully behind. It just changes things. Commit to 4 down territory from there in and statistically, we can run the ball down the field. Offense needs to compliment the defense and the staff should know that.
