When you follow the scores of the Great West teams this year it would appear the Great West is very good. Gosh even Southern Utah beat Youngstown today. Youngstown just got done handing it to the Bison. Bison fans have spent a lot time making fun of Southern Utah and chuckling how weak they were. These scores might quiet down the Bison fans just a little!

I imagine Southeast Louisiana found out that the Sioux were a much tougher team than he had anticipated. Going on the road to UND proably isn't as appealing as he might of thought it would be. I'm sure there are easier road games for them to find than coming to Grand Forks. That is the bad thing about trying to get home games during the transition. Our team is too good to attract some teams to come to our place. Our home tradition and our winning history aren't appealing to some teams. The fact that we have a very good team doesn't help us.

We haven't played the quality enough schedule yet to be ranked. I think he was just speculating what he thinks we would be if we had played a stronger schedule at this point. It is still nice to hear.

All in all it was a good performance. Obviously we gave up to many big plays. We were better in almost every statistical category but of course that can be misleading. Listening to the post game of their broadcast their coach was very complimentary. He said UND was very, very good team. They went on to say that UND of course can't make the playoffs this year because they are in transition but that they thought UND definitely would be a top 10 or 15 team if they were elgible. High praise. The future is very bright.

When you look at some of the Great West game scores this year it is quite impressive. Cal Poly, Davis,UND , USD and even Southern Utah is going to be better this year. The conference might be small but I beleive it is quite good. USD gave UNI just as good a game as SDSU did (maybe better). Western Washington is having a good game today against Eastern Washington. Isn't Eastern Washington in the Big Sky too. How good is Eastern Washington? Both Davis and Cal Poly almost beat Montana. Southern Utah almost beat NSAU. How good is NAU? Over the last few years it continues to become more apparent how good the top teams in DII have been. There definitely have been a lot of DIAA teams playing DII level ball.

If I'm not mistaken I think Wyoming got beat 40 something to nothing today. I guess there is another totally different level of football. Does Texas Tech ring a bell?
-
I see they have just started another Sioux --Bison thread at Bisonville and predicting who would win if they played. Can't those guys just move on?
-
You gotta love it when Bisonville has a game thread on a Sioux game. That alone speaks volumes about the obsession in Fargo over UND. NDSU fans needs to move on. Once again you gotta love it.

Isn't radio 740 now owned by a huge Bison supporter. I can definitely see that 74o will be the new home to Bison athletics, and if that happens Hammer will probably be joining the Bison broadcast team. When he is on his local broadcasts he sure seems to be buttering up to NDSU a lot more than he used too. As we have learned in the past sports announcers can change there colors very quickly if they have too.

It's funny no Bison fans have commented on the picture connected to the newspaper story. Usually there all over stuff like that when it involves a mistake the other way around. I guess Bison fans are hoping no one noticed. That is way to funny!!!!!

I realize you can't take many more years of schedules like this but hopefully you can handle one. You act shocked and surprised that we had a schedule like we do this year. Anyone that has been following the history of teams making the move to DI knows that teams have a rather unfavorable schedule at home the first year and sometimes not the perfect schedule the second year(but better than the first year.). Everyone needs to relax and hang in there because there are better days ahead. I'm sure there are exceptions but most schedules aren't good the first year.

Is the Sioux Extra Televison Show going to be carried on WDAY too? We have a lot of Sioux sports fans in the south end of the valley too.

Dan ---what you just said is a lie!!!!!! You care very much about UND. In fact you are obsessed with UND. UND has to be in your dreams at night and on your mind every waking hour. You are very passionate about UND and we do appreciate your concern.
-
It's not surprising that you would read that on Bisonville. The people on Bisonville spend a lot of their time talking Sioux Sports. They seem to be quite worried about UND.
-
What's the latest on the Junior College runningback from California? Is he still around? Is he going to be a part of the program?
-
I personally would rather go to Southern Illinois and watch the Sioux play Dale's team rather than go watch the Bison play Dale's team in Fargo. It is definitely worth the price of gas.
-
Dan...you don't give yourself enough credit. You really DO care about UND. You are one of the most passionate followers we have. Your on this site all the time. I'm assuming you don't have a job, but if you ever look for a job I'm sure there are lots of loyal Sioux fans that would give a reference. For the special attention you give us, we owe you it to you to help you get a job. Thanks for everything.

NDSU is notorious for over-hyping everything that happens on their campus. They call press conferences almost every day inj Fargo to announce that their going to be having a press conference. This whole conversation just illustrates how NDSU fans just can't get UND out of their system. They are obsessed with UND. Obviously the fact that UND is going to be in a conference through the transtion years has really hit a nerve in Fargo. You gotta love it!!!!!
-
I have been tailgating at both UND and NDSU in the last couple years. UND is still the leader in atmosphere and tailgating in general. We have been doing it for a lot of years. Our tailgating atmosphere took years to develop. It didn't happen over night. NDSU tailgating is better than it used to be but it is still a ways behind UND.

I believe NDSU would get around 20,000 in attendance back at old Dacotah field. I just saw it in their record books. They weren't DI back then were they? Or maybe they just couldn't count when they were DII.
-
NDSU is possessed with getting awards for almost anything. They will make up a category to enable themselves to get an award. To this day NDSU still acknowledges all attendance records they set for football at old Dacotah field. Remember when they totally made up all the attendances for football games for years which helped them buy more home playoff games. It's hard to believe that those attendance figures haven't been stricken from the records. In Fargo they hand out trophies all the time and engrave them later when they figure out what to write on them.
-
I believe NDSU formed a pretend independent league during their transisition years and gave out certain weekley and season awards. I don't think all the schools even took part in the voting. I'm not sure all the schools even knew about it. I'm not sure NDSU loyalists should probably be pointing fingers. Bison dan and his cohorts sure have short memories. If I'm not mistaken NDSU is known as the trophy and banner capital of the world. They hold press conferences in Fargo almost every day to announce they have no news that day. And then they give banners to anyone that shows up.

Gabe apparently thinks that NCC teams are just pathetic now compared to the NCC when NDSU was a member. He thinks NDSU is at a totally different level of football now. Just last year we handled Southern Utah much easier than NDSU did, and we played them on the road. And that's right, UND went on the road not long ago and beat a very good and ranked team in Northern Iowa. It sure would appear that NDSU plays at a totally different level now. Yea right!!!! Is the overall level of football at DIAA better than DII? I would hope so. Is the gap as wide as NDSU fans seem to want to portray? I don't think so. Is the level of NDSU football at an off the charts different level compared to UND? I don't think so. I really don't think anyone is debating that from top to bottom the NCC used to be stronger, but the teams competing for the NCC title the last few years are just as strong as they have always been.

The name AC and football championships are both clearly a part of past history at NDSU. If you have a good MEMORY it can't be selective.

It truly is fun to have a "civil" conversation about sports.
