  1. In particular, Bison Dan must really be envious. All he ever talks is Sioux football. Gotta love it!!!!
  2. Kolpack definitely leaves the impression that they prbably won't come to Grand Forks. Everybody sure seems worried about whether they will come to the Alerus. The game is a long way off. Just having the game in Montana next year is great. This ia a very positive story. Not a negative story. I am not sure why Bison fans and Bison media are so worried about whether the Griz come to Grand Forks. It sure would appear that this story has created a little envy from south of here.
  3. Interesting when I read the paper this morning that there were actually more people at the Final Five Sioux Hockey game than there were at the the Bison NCAA basketball game yesterday. This is definitely hockey country. I wonder how many Sioux fans were at the hockey game yesterday?
  4. We have a recruit from Wisonsin coming in next year. What is she like as a player. What level of basketball does she play at in Wisconsin? Did her team make it to the state tournament?
  5. Does anybody know anything about the Lake Region gal other than her stat line. How good is she? Would she be a catch?
  6. Are you serious? You have the number 18th ranked team in NCAA Division 1 coming into your barn. That is all the more reason sports fans would want to come out to the game. And SDSU is your arch rival. Remember you guys are done with your transtition. Your excitement is supposed to be at an all time high. UND is just starting our transtion. As far as your men's team, get a headset.
  7. The attendance was better for your men's game because the Force weren't playing in Fargo that night. Since you guys are done with your transition you really should support both your basketball teams. Nice try.
  8. I see where the Fargo Force had an attendance of 4393 last night. I also couldn't help but notice that the big rivalry game between NDSU and SDSU had an attendance of 2644 last night(1000 were Rabbit fans). Looks like Hockey is king in Fargo. It is good to see that the rivalry game with SDSU is sure becoming a major event in Fargo. I thought NDSU was done with their transition.
  9. Frankly, we have a gold mine right here in Grand Forks with Sioux Hockey. It is the the #1 followed sports team in the state of North Dakota. No other sports team in the state comes close to the number of people who attend Sioux Hockey games. It is the number 1 sports team in the state and we don't need any other college hockey team in the state. Let's leave every thing as it is. We love seeing all the cars coming from Fargo to see the Sioux play hockey in Grand Forks.
  10. It sure didn't take long to find out that Gene Taylor's schedule wasn't fulll afterall. In today's Forum he says he's saving an open non conference date in the future to set up a home and away date with a future opponent. I guess that could be a Bison-Sioux matchup if he wanted it to be. But it won't be. He sure has been going around in circles a lot lately.
  11. Gene Taylor has lots of time on his hands to be calling legislators now since he has his football schedule done through 2013. Somebody should ask him who all the teams are he has scheduled for all those years. I wonder if he can come up with all of them. He wouldn't be stretching the truth at all would he. No I'm sure he isn't. It seems like I had just heard he was still trying to get next years schedule filled.
  12. That is even further evidence on how silly Taylor is starting to look on this subject.
  13. Gene Taylor said today that they have been selling out all their games for 2 or 3 years now so they don't need the game. First off I don't think they have been selling out all their games for 2 or 3 years. Of course sometimes they have sell outs with 16,000 and sometimes they have sell outs with 19,000. There have been games recently where their own fans have said there were 3 or 4 thousand empty seats and yet it is reported to be a sellout. But the classic from Gene Taylor now is that the rivalry is to negative so they just don't want to pursue the games. Their fans just don't appreciate the negativity. Does anybody ever remember Bison fans being negative or doing hostile or abusive chants? Does he really think anybody really beleives all the excuses he keeps throwing out there. Whether it is good or bad the negative feelings by fans from both sides is exactly why it is such a great rivalry. Gene Taylor doesn't realize that is one of the components of a rivalry. The side sides aren't suppose to be in love with each other. I wonder what the next excuse will be that Taylor uses. Gene Taylor just doesn't get the big picture. He said there schedule is set till 2012 in football. I wonder if it is. There is a lot of talk out there that they are still looking for games.
  14. Gene Taylor has made it EXTREMELY clear he has no interest in playing the game. He keeps coming up with various twists on why they can't play the game. When the President's of the two institutions are able to come to terms the game will happen. Faison doesn't need to kiss Taylor's butt. Taylor as much as said he would only play UND in Fargo. He said their non conference games have to be large payoff games. Apparently the game will never happen then. UND would NEVER just play that game in Fargo. Taylor and Chapman need to wake up an smell the roses. Apparently they just can't see the big picture. There is a lot MORE THAN MONEY to be gained in the playing of that game. If NDSU has a couple more disappointing .500 seasons they won't have to worry about sellouts in Fargo anymore. They will be begging for the Bison Sioux rivalry. When the Bison were 2 and 8 a few years ago they could shoot a cannon through the Fargodome. With the talent NDSU lost this year and were only a .500 team they could be very ordinary next year. I'm starting to think they truly are afraid to play us. If they lost they would have a lot of crow to eat. Bring them on.
  15. Faison said on the news tonight that UND's football schedule for next year is basically full. I wonder who the other two games are against? Does anyone know?
  16. Just watched the end of the Texas A & M and Baylor basketball game on ESPNII. Texas A & M beat #21 ranked Baylor by 11. It was an 8 point ball game with just over one minute left. That was the same score differential as when the Sioux played them last week. It really is rather strange that we gave A & M a good game and #21 Baylor lost to them by all most identical scores as our game. We beat Missouri Kansas City too. How is it we have struggled with the North Dakota colleges? I don't know whether to be happy or disappointed.
  17. Would NDSU ever consider coming to Grand Forks for a one game no guarantee contract? I'm sure UND isn't interesting to going to Fargo for a one game contract. I suppose NDSU wouldn't since that would be a sure loss for them.
  18. Since the Iowa State coach is completely familiar with Kimbrough and he saw her play today you can imagine they will be all over her on defense. It would give him great delight to shut her down. If some of the other gals don't step up big time it is going to be a real long night. It might be a long night no matter what. Go Sioux.
  19. After reading the articles in today's Herald about the attendance for basketball , my first reaction was that the article was just slightly premature. Even though the article could end up being exactly right and probably will be, I think you need more than just a couple of games to make an accurate comparison. They could of waited a couple of months and then gave a truer picture of what is happening before creating such a negative outlook.
  20. It really rather comical that Bison fans are giving us grief about losing to Southern Utah. Southern Utah is a whole lot better than they have been. If I'm not mistaken they gave one of the Montana schools all they wanted this year. Southern Utah also beat Youngstown. Youngstown ran all over NDSU. The funny part of all this is when Bison fans make fun of Southern Utah it really makes their own team look even worse than they are. The Bison are done with their transition and the Sioux are just starting our transition. When you look at messy status of the Bison team this year the future of Sioux football looks quite bright. The Bison fans have enough problems with thier own team to be putting down other teams. They need to be more concerned about the fact that they are booing their own players and team in the first quarter of games at the Fargodome. Und will probably still host a FCS playoff game before NDSU does!
  21. Will we be able to get a webcast of the Southern Illinois game? The Davis webcast was quite good.
  22. Does anybody know if we can pick up the U. C. Davis radio broadcast of the game tomorrow or if they have a webcast of the game? If it is available is there a charge for it?
  23. When the Sioux play home football games the noise level at the Alerus is deafening. In competitive games every 3rd down for the opponent is a real challenge for them. The opposing teams have lots of procedural penalties. The game at the Fargodome today was very quiet . The announcers even commented on how lousy the atmosphere was. It was a huge game for NDSU and the crowd was mostly quiet by Alerus standards. You could almost hear the quarterback signal calling over the television. UND might not have as many people at the Sioux football games but we can be very proud of the vocal support we give our team. We don't boo our team like NDSU fans did a week ago against Southern Illinois. UND ia 4 years behind NDSU in the transition but the future looks very bright for UND football.
  24. Bison Dan gets taken apart every time he posts here. You would think he would learn. You gotta love a guy who gives another team crap about the succcess they have had in the playoffs when his own team hasn't had a playoff game in Fargo in 20 years. I think Concordia hosted a playoff game in the Fargodome though. Way to funny.
  25. Even if you break even on the deal it is going to do nothing but great things for the recruiting. Great exposure and a great experience for the athletes. This game would be a no brainer. It would appear that future scheduling is in good hands and going wonderful. Go Sioux.
