I believe that practice officially starts Saturday, Oct. 6. Prior to that the coaches can work on the ice with only four players at a time.

The forecast is for a Canadian front coming through, resulting in a hockey game and ending a long drought of Fighting Sioux hockey. Sounds like a recipe for tailgating.

You caught that, huh? At one time that might have meant something, but not so much now. Not much there, but they do have a little roadside park if you need to relieve some of that wine intake. There is a decent amount of traffic on the road.

I know a shortcut around Denver. At Colorado Springs take US 24 to the east, turn north at Limon, pass through Last Chance, and hit I76 east at Brush, CO. It is good road (we did it in August). Just be sure to fill your tank at Colorado Springs. You avoid all that fun at Denver.

You make a valid point with your comment about SOS. However, you lose the debate the minute you used the word "stupid." You could very easily have made your point without degrading people, but you chose the gutter, and continue to go lower into the muck. It is all in the delivery.

I am hearing from someone close to the team that Idalski is making an impression. He is very strict, but very well liked by at least most of the team. At least some feel that they may have one of the top coaching groups in Div. I. A couple of them may be having second thoughts, however. Two players evidently disrespected the women's locker room and so the entire team has been moved to the visiting team locker room as an attitude adjustment until they deserve to get their locker room back. Looks like the new sheriff in town wants it done his way.

Wow - If true it does not reflect well on Lucia (slightly) and much more so on O'Brien's character. He left his coach hanging out to dry and made him look foolish.

Childress has to wear a big hat to protect himself from the sun. He has been to the Mayo Clinic to have some melanomas removed. He is very susceptible to skin cancer and so has to cover up.

Consider this - If the Sioux make the frozen four next spring, Robbie Bina should be the only Sioux player on the team who experienced a WCHA season without making the Frozen Four. His freshman year. That would be an incredible statistic for Hak to lay on the table during contract discussions.

May - attended Keikla's college graduation June - Moved Southpaw to Colorado Springs (missed out on my annual Canada fishing trip as it was the same week) On the plus side, now have contacts in Colorado Springs for when we go watch the Sioux play there. July - Family reunion in northern MN on Mrs. Siouxman's side of the family August - Will be moving Keikla to Phoenix to start Pharmacy school. So, AZSIOUX and SIOUX-CIA, will be in the neighborhood for at least a few days and Keikla will be there for a couple of years. May include a side trip to CA with this. Other than that, some occasional fishing including rainbow trout at Bad Medicine Lake. NDFAN - all the best in your recovery and a successful outcome.

HINT: Use shotgun to create a more convenient putting hole. Under these conditions, you should never more than one-putt. (Further note: mark and pickup ball before creating new hole)
