  1. I'm sure this has been talked about else where, but can anyone explain to me how the pictures of t-shirts in Exhibit 1 relate to anything UND could have done differently to either "educate" or create a less "hostile" and "abusive" relationship with the general public as well as the tribes? I just don't understand that part. I may never either. How does the actions of other school's students or even the general public make UND the so-called "bad guy" in all of this? What could UND have done differently about these T-Shirts? How is it UND's job to regulate another school's students or the general public? To me, personally, the shirts don't even have anything to do with this lawsuit at all.
  2. I'm on it, besides I'm on the so-called "list" as well and my sister's birthday is on Monday. Time's a Tickin'...
  3. If mailing information to individuals that request it is considered harassment, then I guess Sioux-cia would be guilty. But since people would have to voluntarily give her their addresses, how could that be harassment? I'd say you are incorrect in your previous post.
  4. This question is to whoever got tickets already for the tournament: How did you acquire them? I looked on Ticketmaster and didn't find any. Also, What is the most feasible way to get to NH? Is it cheaper to fly to Boston and then take a car/train? or just fly directly to NH? Anybody that has any useful information, I'm open for suggestions and/or advice. This sounds like a good road trip for my dad and I. Thanks.
  5. From what I was told by the Sioux Shop people was that the bobble heads were already ordered and were due by the end of October. So they should be there by now, or this week sometime. The sign-up sheet was a "reserved" sheet just for in case they got to their "magic" number, so that those people that already paid for onewouldn't be screwed on the deal and not get one that they already paid for.
  6. Anyone know what the closest major airport to Hanover would be? Is it Burlington, VT or Concord, NH? Or is Boston fairly close? Just tryin to see if this might be feasible...Thanks.
  7. This is a side note from UND's goaltending situation, but does anyone find it odd that Ziggy seems to be getting the cold shoulder in Duluth this year? After all, he seemed to carry his team at the end of last season. He won 2 games at Denver in the play-offs that got them to the Final Five. How that translates into not even getting an opportunity thus far to play this season is beyond me. I understand that their new goalie is supposed to be a stud, but this situation just appears odd to me. Maybe it's just me too.
  8. I agree with the fact that USC hasn't beaten anybody of note besides Arkansas, but are you serious about Notre Dame? Who has Notre Dame beat? Michigan State, Navy, Purdue, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Penn St.? The only 2 "pretty good" schools in their win column are the last 2 I mentioned. And those teams aren't going anywhere significant this year. Notre Dame's schedule is a comparable schedule to that of a typical SEC conference team schedule. Yea Right. Notre Dame is about the 10th best team in the country, right where it should be.
  9. Just one man's opinion, but I would say Suite 49(located right next to the Ralph) would be a great to stop before the game. I know South Gate, Rumors(?), Overtime(?) and the El Roco might be other great stops to hit up during the weekend. If you are looking going out after the game, I would say head downtown because there are at least 4 good bars that will be pretty busy on the weekend. Otherwise, the El Roco might be your next best option.
  10. I can't find a link right now, but I'm fairly certain that one of the tribes was a Seminole namesake tribe from Oklohoma. I could be wrong though.
  11. Isn't that the very same situation Florida State was in? One tribe saying it was ok while others openly voiced their displeasure of FSU's name?
  12. I can't believe there is all this talk of the NDSU football on a UND message board. Like has already been stated, you can't predict who will be good or not any given year. Looking at their schedule, they have 2 for sure, maybe 3, that will be at .500 or better. This is the tough part of their schedule, even though 2 of the games are at home. Also, Georgia Southern is predominantly a play-off team, having been in the play-offs 5 out of the last 6 if my math is correct. This year, 4 of their losses have been by 7points or less, with NDSU the only team that beat them soundly. That's the way a season goes sometimes. I could look at their other opponents too, but it's not worth my time because people will just counter my point. Bottom Line: You Play The Hand You Are Dealt.
  13. I thought the NCAA stated somewhere that San Diego State wasn't on the list because the Aztec People are no longer in existence, therefore they weren't able to ask what they thought of the name. That's what I recall at least. If that's correct, then UofIllinois is in the same boat.
  14. It in fact could go to a UofM Gopher guy. Okposo(sp?) had a hat trick tonight, Golikoski, Barriball, and Hirsch all had good series against CC. Instead of sounding like the league has it out for all schools minus the UofM and UW, maybe you could just give props where props are due. And besides, who cares about the WCHA offensive player of the week? It's not like the kids have a contract lined with incentives should they receive the award. There's always questionable and iffy calls on which player deserves the award.
  15. I posted this in another thread, but I have heard that he sprained his ankle during practice earlier in the week. Don't quote me on it, but that is what I was told happen to him.
  16. Sorry, I wasn't clear enough in my post. Yes, the SE corner of the Bronson property is reserved for the Medical School expansion. I meant the SE corner of the plot of land between Suite 49 and the first station where the construction is going on right now. Nothing official as of yet, so don't quote me, but I talked to someone at Suite 49 that has some knowledge of the hotel and they told me that they were trying to negotiate a deal with the hotel to include some sort of skywalk from the hotel to Suite 49 so that the hotel could save costs by not having to include a restaurant and/or bar in its building plans. That would enable Suite 49 to be the official restaurant/bar of the hotel. A win-win for both I would think if it goes as planned.
  17. I haven't heard anything official about the NE corner of the Bronson being turned into commercial devolopment yet, but the SE corner will be exactly as you stated above. There will be a hotel built in between Suite 49 and University Station, with the main choices being a Cambria Suites and a Marriot I believe. UND(Kupchella) apparently wants the Marriot since his daughter works for the company, but Cambria Suites is ready to build but UND won't sign off on it because of the whole Marriot saga. That's just what I have heard on the Bronson Property lately. Take it for what it's worth.

    NDSU Football

I always hate doing this, but Minnesota is the State of Hockey. Not football. Not basketball. Maybe you should talk to some people at the University of Minnesota that follow hockey more closely instead of relying on talking to the general public. Wisconsin may be Minnesota's biggest rival in all other sports but hockey, but I would call it a push between UND and Wisconsin being Minnesota's biggest rival. Also, how can you call a poll that was conducted meaningless? Because it contradicts what you said on here? Like it's already been stated, the numbers might be skewed slightly, but you just can't ignore the numbers in their entirety. Unless HockeyMom did in fact vote 3,200 times.
  19. Don't quote me on it, and I have no link as proof, but I heard that Phil sprained his ankle during practice this week.
  20. For anyone out there....Is it standard procedure to have that initial deadline extended? I was hoping to hear the NCAA's stance on the lawsuit but that article states that they were allowed more time by having the deadline extended. Is that common practice?
  21. Sorry to burst your bubble(if there's one to burst at all) but It's already been brought up here in Post #1775: SiouxSports.com
  22. That is the most looped-out statement I have read on here in a while....You're saying that the people who buy season tickets can give the REA money for the tickets before the season even starts, but can't receive them until the 10-14 days before the actual game? What's the point of buying season tickets then if this is your almighty solution? Why don't we do that for the students as well? Because the student section wasn't totally full both days, this policy should apply to them as well right? Who says that recent graduates are the only ones that cheer and be loud for the hockey team? I can think of 15-20 ADULTS(30+ in age) that can't attend games all of the time that can and generally do cheer louder and longer than the students. Win, Lose, or Draw. That would put your "plan" to shame. Quit assuming that students are what make the crowd tick. They help, yes. But the general public needs the students as much as the students need the general public. Come to your senses please. Your policy is extremely flawed.
  23. Can someone please explain this VanDeVelde hit from behind? I missed the hit at the game to get back to work. Some people say it was clean, others say dirty....What the concensus on the hit?
  24. I understand your point about Phil having a weak spot as all goalie's do, but that doesn't contradict the fact that I don't believe any of the goals he allowed on Friday were his fault, which was the post you responded to.
  25. Quit trying to hijack this thread with your Mayville State comments Dakota F'ing Dan.
