100% We Do The series as I understand it goes something like this: 1st year- 2 @ Minnesota 2nd year- 2 @ Minnesota, 2 @ UND 3rd Year- 2 @ UND 4th Year- 2 @ Minnesota, 2 @ UND So, 3 out of 4 years we will have a series up here, this was just the odd-ball year for us.

(5) FINAL 5 TICKET PACKAGES FOR SALE
LeftyZL replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
Quick Question: The club level seats that are in the same section and seat, but different rows, do you know who has the seats around the seats in question? I am trying to find 2 tickets together for my girlfriend and I and am wondering if the people around these seats would be willing to move around(up or down) so I could educate her more. -
What is the password for student tickets on ticketmaster.com?
LeftyZL replied to Brasco's topic in Men's Hockey
Students had season tickets for the regular season, and they did get one night in the lower bowl and the other night in the upper bowl. But all the seats were general admission. They only gave out enough season tickets to fill up the lower bowl. The same amount was in the upper bowl. It was a first-come basis for the seats each night. Now they're reserved seats from here on out. -
Maybe it's just me, but I just don't see a way the Sioux can get to a #1 seed, regardless of whether they win the Final 5 or not. UND(#6 seed after tonight with bonus) is winning 18 comparisons, Clarkson(#5 seed after tonight with bonus) is winning 20, St. Cloud(#4 seed after tonight with bonus) is winning 21. Assuming we can flip the Clarkson and Miami(OH) comparisons in our favor, which I believe we can since we only trail each of them by .0045 in the TUC category, that only gets us up to 20 comparisons, still 1 comparison short for catching St. Cloud. Assuming we can play St. Cloud in the Final 5(assuming we get there), we would have to beat them just to even our comparison. Does anyone know what they do to split 2 teams if they are tied in the comparisons?(Head-To-Head?) Because right now St. Cloud leads our comparison 3-2. Man, I was just thinking how important that 2 goal lead we gave up on Friday looks like it might come back to keeping us from a potential #1 seed, assuming all other things fall into place. If we had won the Friday night game, and beat them again in the Final 5, we would win the St. Cloud comparison 5-4. End Blabber.

Well, we got 2 out of the 4 home teams to lose. Alaska-Fairbanks won tonight as did Northern Michigan. Princeton got 2 goals in the 3rd to come back and win tonight against Brown and Lake Superior State got a great goaltending performance it looks like and a goal with 2 minutes to go to beat Ferris State.

What is the password for student tickets on ticketmaster.com?
LeftyZL replied to Brasco's topic in Men's Hockey
I don't know if it's wise to post the password on a public forum. Who really knows if the Ralph will be checking student ID's like they said they are planning to? And do you really want a bunch of adults in the student section in case they don't check ID's? -

Sioux Playoff Tickets Info. Here's the Link. All students have 1st dibs on the student sections starting tomorrow at 12pm. Either buy them at the Ralph or purchase them at ticketmaster.com That's a pretty good deal if you ask me for students. A full day advantage on everyone else in town.

Any other score updates from around the league?

I believe it was choppy intentionally at the beginning, just to have a picture of who was talking in the background. Edit: Strike That...I could be wrong.

I say just strap a plow on to the front of the bus and let 'er go!...All joking aside, I could see the DOT leading the bus to Fargo by following a plow possibly. Just a thought.

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for, but I did some searching and found this on the WCHA website on a memo. It looks like that if Denver and UND tied this weekend for 3rd, we would have to look at tie-breaker #4(letter D) to break the tie. The first tie-breaker(Letter A) doesn't break the tie since we split the season series with DU. For UND and DU to tie in points, the second tie-breaker(Letter B) wouldn't break the tie since both teams would have identical records in league play of 13-11-4. The third tie-breaker(Letter C) doesn't apply to these teams, so we move on to the fourth tie-breaker(Letter D). And we can't figure that tie-breaker out until after the games are played this weekend. But, right now, UND is a +13 in league play for goal differential while Denver is only a +3. From WCHA.com:

Fighting Sioux "Fan Plan" for Final Five Poster Scam
LeftyZL replied to BismarckFan's topic in Men's Hockey
If you look at the original poster, the teams are aligned according to their finish in the league. Hence the reason for Minnesota being at the top of it. There's no "most favorable" standing or "bias" towards the U. of Minnesota. It's called logic. The reprinted one re-aligned the teams according to their finish in the Final Five I believe. -
Can someone explain how we don't get bonus points for having "quality road wins" against the UofMinn? Is it because they are in conference?
-
But you have to pay a higher % of taxes on that since it was considered a prize so to speak. Hey, I could be wrong. It will be in that area though.
-
I heard the Rydell's offered $100,000 before the raffle took place. My dad said that whoever won it would have to pay roughly $15,000 in taxes on the bike.

Are you comparing the great and storied rivalry of UND-NDSU to that of a game between UND-UNI and NDSU-Montana? With something that important(the Nickel Trophy) on the line, it should be a level field. That's all I'm saying. The 2 teams can play as often as they want to, but I wouldn't put the Nickel on the line until it's level. So, maybe it's good that they don't play this year yet. I don't know. Maybe we play NDSU this year, they beat us, and then next year they decide they don't have any room on the schedule for us...Then what? How about vice-versa?
-
I never said it was our fault for not moving or NDSU's fault for moving before we did. I just said it needs to be a balanced playing field. NDSU has got to be getting close to maxing the D-1AA level for scholarships, while UND will still be at the D-2 level this year. That's a 20-some difference in scholarships. That's not even close to balanced. The game can be in Fargo or anywhere but Grand Forks for all I care. UND owns the FargoDome.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it was Chorney who mistakenly tossed the puck out of the corner and it went right throught Phil's crease in the 1st or 2nd period, not Lee. The problems Lee had were with handling the puck, and that could very well been because of the poor ice conditions. I saw the puck bouncing all over the place last night.
-
I'm all about UND-NDSU playing against each other in football ASAP, but if UND is to put up the Nickel trophy this year when they are at such a dis-advantage scholarships-wise to NDSU, it would see such a shame if you ask me. Let the schools play for it when UND gets up to the D-1AA level in scholarships. When that happens, we can talk about NDSU wanting the nickel back.

Where is your seat? Your Car? Bathroom? Closet?...All joking and sarcasm aside, I feel he does a lot more than you give him credit for. For one, Leadership can't be put into numbers. Second, I wish he scored more often myself, but he has a knack to score at important or crucial times. He reminds me of a Peter Armbrust from 1997-2001.(Think Armbrust's game-winner in OT against the Gophs at the Final Five in 1997-98) Hell, he plays on a line with Kyle Radke, Eric Fabian, and/or Andrew Kozek. That seems to be as much of a non-scoring line as we have right now. They just play physical. And that's ok with me too. My one complaint of Chris Porter is that he takes penalties at unbelieveably bad times in games. And him being one of our top penalty killers doesn't help the situation. Whether he takes one away from the play or in a tight game, he just has a tendency this year to do that. Maybe it's bad positioning. Maybe it's a hockey mistake. Maybe it's bad luck because I don't remember him being a huge penalty-taker his first 3 years. But this year, all his penalties seem to come at the worst times.

Phil's play did not slip this weekend...How did it slip? None of Friday's goals were his fault. The first goal on Saturday is the only one that I feel he would like back and that was still a pretty good shot I felt by Berge. Other than that, giving up 3 power play goals(basically) on Saturday is not a direct fault of his. It's a fault of the team. Genoway was to blame on the 2nd one by getting caught being too aggressive, and on the 3rd and 4th goals, we needed to win a face-off. If we can somehow manage to win a face-off with 12 seconds to go in the game on Saturday, that game is virtually over. We lost all the important face-offs at the end of that game.
