  1. Based on some of your recent posts/comments in this thread regarding Canadians I am going to go out on a very short limb and guess that you grew up in the State of "Thinks it Knows" Hockey. If you are from North Dakota by any chance did you attend NDSU.
  2. Zajac with a first period goal and the Versus first intermission interview as well, discussing what else but Jacque Lemaire's expectations.
  3. Looking forward to another year of balanced scoring.
  4. That was the outcome
  5. Brian Lee was sent down to Bingo today. http://senators.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=500247
  6. How pathetic that the Dasher Troll is already making excuses as to why his loaded team will lose to North Dakota this season. He has been around long enough that he should have been able to figure out that you have to recruit a few role players to your lineup if you want to succeed in today's game so he will have no one to blame but himself. I doubt the little flake has or ever will be offered a Pro contract of any kind.
  7. I think you could say that about both Kristo and Parks.
  8. USA beat Russia 6-1 yesterday, Kristo with a goal and two assists. http://www.usahockey.com/Template_Usahocke...6&id=267120 Also at the Hlinka U18 today Parks had a goal in the 7-6 win over Slovakia http://www.szlh.sk/statistiky/live-zapas/46737
  9. We lost one of the good ones from the Sioux fanbase. Created laughter wherever he went, he will be missed.
  10. Actually he just did announce it and then TSN posted the article. Big loss for the Riders. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=286667
  11. Buddy is a distant relative and I can tell you he didn't play for the Sioux. He went the Major Junior route and was already a Pro in the American Hockey League during the years in question. Therefore it probably was the Boone from BC.
  12. It is the same Darren Turcotte who played in the NHL and played his Major Junior Hockey with the North Bay Centennials. When Darren signed with North Bay his father moved to the city so that he could watch his son play. Thanks to the Turcottes, there was a steady stream of US born talent that played for the Centennials in the 80s, including the Hatcher brothers. The Turcottes owned and operated a sports memorabilia shop in the city for many years and still reside there to this day.
  13. All to often last season the Sioux had to dress players who weren't completely healed from their injuries. Therefore, I suscribe to the theory that the Sioux will carry 26 players this season.
  14. Be careful, or you may get a caution from the site. The one who only knows football is extremely sensitive and must have complained when I mentioned that this thread had been taken off track.
  15. The Penalty kill is exactly what did the team in, not the goaltending.
  16. Backes with another penalty and the Swedes score again. 3-2 Sweden.
  17. Nice end to end rush by Pavelski. 2-2
  18. USA get's into penalty trouble and the Swedes cash in. 2-1 Sweden
  19. Now 1-0 USA with a Powerplay goal from Jack Johnson on a blast from the point. I am watching live on TSN but perhaps channelsurfing.net has a web feed.
  20. Good first period by Team USA but they couldn't finish any of their chances against Sweden so still 0-0 at the intermission.

    Blais

I think Siouxsweet was just trying to inject a little humour which was obviously lost on someone. Every Sioux fan knows what Blais is capable of regardless of the talent he has to work with. However, some of our fellow Sioux fans will be telling their grandchildren how he used to make wine out of water and weaved straw into gold. The Disney phenomenon.
  22. It was an exciting game to watch except for the officiating that was almost as bad and inconsistent as that in the WCHA. With about a minute to go a Russian got away with a blatant trip in their end which should have been the obvious make up call for the Meatballs that were reffing the game.
  23. Score is 2-2 after two periods. Okoposo with the second USA goal and USA is outshooting the Russians 14-12.
  24. 1-0 USA, Dustin Brown with the goal. Update: Kovalchuk ties it up half way through the second period 1-1
