I wonder if Berenson envisioned ending his coaching career on such a low note. Based on some of his recent comments it looks good on him.
-
So does this mean that from now on you will automatically pick the Avs to win all of their games in your NHL hockey pools.

You forgot to add that Wilson has been hiding a serious hand injury for most of the season and I suspect it is just as bad as the one that Oshie played with last year. I sat right behind the US bench for one of the WJC games and the trainers were constantly working on it. It is clear that it is also affecting his shot.

If the team can leave it all on the ice for 240 minutes over the next three weeks they have as good a chance as anyone. I don't think anyone in this tournament has more NCAA playoff experience than the UND lineup and that has to count for something. Against UNH hit Rip VanWinkle early and often and he will disappear. Based on what I saw of him at the WJC he is skilled but he is also soft and if he had been born in MN he would have been your prototypical Gohper. As he goes so goes UNH. BU's Wilson worries me more and the D will have to be aware of his location at all times. He is one of the few game changers in NCAA hockey this year and he likely would have won the Hobey outright were it not for a hand injury that is very similar to the one that Oshie had to play through last season. I suspect it will take BE's best game of the season to beat them and in a one game showdown we know they can be beat as demonstrated by lowly Maine last weekend. GO SIOUX!

Injuries happen when you have to play playoff hockey for three months straight, no excuse it's a fact and Hakstol implied as much with his post game comments this weekend. Conversely if you don't show up to play for 3 months straight I guess you can look forward to a happy and healthy early golf season.

I think the injury bug has caught up to the Sioux and in case you forgot that includes Gregoire who took a thunderous hit a couple of weeks back. We know what they are capable of but will they be able to field a healthy enough team to be effective next weekend.

As amazing as the Sioux second half of the season was again this year, theirs was an even greater catastrophic failure, dropping from the very top of the heap to the bottom of the dung pile in under three months. Coaches get credit where it is due and I don't know where else you could pin a failure of this magnitude. I wonder if we will see a coaching change at UMTC.

I still don't know whay so many idiots picked McBain over this guy for the league MVP. He is giving the Dogz the type of goaltending that wins championships.
-
That wasn't a high school band? There must be at least 1,000 fans at the game.
-
So where is this McBain kid that so many weenies (supposedly hockey experts) selected as the league MVP.
-
Don't give him time to play the puck and get on him when he does.

Say no More

No that was in the regional at Colorado Springs against the Sioux and after the poor guy had been shelled like never before by Parise and Bochenski. Unforutunately I had a birds eye view of the whole mess.

Aids Poorchild takes a penalty. PP Dogs.

How pathetic that the Gophers are now handing out excuses for losing before the games are even played.

1-0 Dogs McGregor Sharp

As always a missed marketing opportunity for the WCHA. Oh well. Number one goalie in the WCHA against the one line wonders should wind up at 3-2 for UMD.
-
Congrats to the coach and the three players. The recognition is well deserved.
-
If memory serves me correctly, and I can't remember which Gopher faithful made the claim on this site, wasn't he the greatest Gopher goaltender since Stauber right up until that January visit to Grand Forks.
-
I told you the DQ cup was all that mattered in MN.
-
Buckysieve must have either declined or slept through the advanced math course at UMTC.
-
There is nothing funnier than Gopher faithful questioning another WCHA team's goaltending.
-
Glad that you have been both amused and educated in the same visit.

I was thinking the same thing and Duluth would have a good shot a beating Denver in the consolation game as well. Denver is in the NCAAs regardless of the outcome so Gwoz isn't going to risk playing the injured he will need the following weekend. UND has a glorious opportunity to leapfrog Denver in the PWR but with the number one seed would wind up on the big ice surface to the south.

I have been following the WCHA for almost 35 years and nothing has changed. When it comes to the WCHA it is still only the media and fans in Grand Forks, Duluth and to a lesser degree Wisconsin who have any idea of the lineups and issues of teams other than their own. Of course the Skippies still like to tell us all that they are the center of the college hockey universe, but once again the evidence to the contrary shows us all just how ridiculous and laughable their glee club truly is. This would also support the notion that their small handfull of knowledgeable fans probably frequent this site as an opportunity to be better informed as I can't think of any other good reason to frequent another team's site.
