  1. I have been trying to find a live feed link for this afternoons USA/Sweden game. I found one that says it is only going to be available to Russians??? Why would they care? http://www.hockeywebcasts.com/
  2. That was the line and they had their chances with Okposo missing a wide open net at one point. However other WCHA players and better yet Sioux players contributed to the 6-1 USA win as both Blake and Stafford had goals. I only wish I understood Swiss German.
  3. USA rallied to beat Latvia 4-2 at the 2009 Worlds and Drew Stafford scored their second goal. Although I heard he may be on his way to join the team, TJ Oshie didn't dress for the game. RedWing77 I didn't take offence to your comments regarding my Habs as I pretty much agree. The Russians don't show up to play every game which is why I would just as soon they get moved elsewhere.
  4. Didn't know where else to put this but within this month's En Route Magazine Cassie Campbell of Hockey Night in Canada was interviewed and when asked to pick her favorite arena to train in she selected the Ralph. Her actual response is at the end of the article. http://enroute.aircanada.com/en/articles/cassie-campbell
  5. It is Senior hockey and there are teams right across Canada. There have been US based teams in the past including the Warroad Lakers. They play for the Allan Cup as the national championship. http://www.allancup.ca/
  6. Just watched Team USA totally dominate the Russians on TSN, 5-0 for the gold medal. What a bunch of hacks the Russians are; however, I am sure DaveK loved their knee on knee hits on the Team USA players. Nice to see some Kelly Green in the crowd.
  7. The Southeast Prairie Thunder with Sioux Alum Skaperud, Fuher and Palmiscno lost a heartbreader in the Allan Cup final to Bentley 4-3 in 2OT. Tim Skarperud had one of the Thunder goals and Fuher assited on another. I know Jay Panzer was also playing for them this season but I don't think he played in the final. http://www.tsn.ca/canadian_hockey/story/?id=275586
  8. Some of you are being hypocrites as I distinctly recall that over the past several seasons a couple of you slammed the lack of physical play from two Sioux D-men who were Minnesota products. Not once did I slam these two players while they were playing for the Sioux because I undertood that physical play is learned in youth hockey, something most Minnesota hockey players don't get to experience. The Minnesotans with character that have played for North Dakota and helped start the program hailed from northern communities like Rouseau and Warroad where they cut their teeth playing hard nosed hockey against kids from north of the border. Your big city boys that typically play for the Gophers may have all the skill in the world but they aren't the ones who will win you championships.
  9. If you just figured out now that I am not a fan of Minnesota hockey you aren't very observant. I have also frequently condeded that the Gophers have all the talent in the world but fold at the end of the season because their lineup lacks the heart and character required to be successful. If you like players who dish out the stickwork and then turtle you can't be a true Sioux fan and we don't need the likes of you.
  10. It was in the post game comments. Lee gave Brad May some stickwork and when May called him on it he did the most pathetic please don't hurt me turtle I have ever seen. I only wish Don Cherry didn't highlight that Brian Lee was a product of the University of North Dakota. I sent him a message reminding him that the Sioux have produced the likes of Commodore and Greene. I added that the likes of Brian Lee are a product of the Minnesota hockey system.
  11. Hopefully the strong offset from Alberta will help maintain the required character for the team. Given the trend of the past few years I wonder which poor Minnesotan will be the next throw him under the bus victim of certain Sioux fans.
  12. OMG Skippy you are right. We had three whole Minnesotans in the lineup that won the McNaughton Cup and a fourth who played a couple of games. By the way how are the the spelling lessons going down at UMTC, can you all spell FINLAND yet.
  13. That was a very entertaining game and for all of our friends from the "State of Hockey" it sure didn't feature very many Minnesotans. Perhaps you could change your name to the the State of Curling or find another obscure winter sport that is available for the taking. Just pick something without the fighting and you still have DaveK and his alternate personality HappyG as your biggest fans on this board.
  14. More importantly is there any TV coverage from Fargo so we can watch some of those recruits. Even when the tournament is in Europe I can find TV coverage of the games but I haven't been able to find anything which is disappointing. I guess I will be limited to the Canada games that TSN covers this year.
  15. I am sure he finds the game a lot more fun and easier without a Pioneer or Maverick riding on his back for 60 minutes.
  16. I'll be rooting for the team with all those 25 year old Canadians.
  17. Always nice to hear from a know-it-all with 16 posts. First of all start by reading Brad's Blog to get a brief rundown on some of the team's injuries. There are most certainly two other significant ones he isn't mentioning regarding two players who were in yesterday's lineup. Then take a look at the teams making the FF. At least two of them had last weekend off and were well rested and healed. Stick to the sports you know that involve playing with little balls.
  18. Watch for the Bozak announcement tomorrow. The Hockey Night in Canada Hot Stove League mentioned that there is currently a bidding war between several teams trying to land him.
  19. Rowney with the second goal in Grand Prairies 3-2 win over Brooks yesterday so they win their series 4-1 and move on to the AJHL final against Spruce Grove.
  20. I can't believe some of you post here and call yourself true Fighting Sioux fans. This team has had to play playoff hockey since early January and pulled off a minor miracle in coming back to win the league. They paid a heavy price though in that they could no longer field a healthy enough team to go any further this season. The coaches can't reveal all of the injuries and their nature but when you have a kid who was a few days ago walking around your campus in walking cast out there playing today how can you be critical of what transpired. Now that the season is over ask any player you know about some of the injuries they were playing with this weekend then please be man enough to come back to this site and apologize to the team publicly for some your comments.
  21. The faceoff losses finally came back to bite them. The Seniors need to take control of this game back and win this in OT.
  22. Thanks, whatever you just did was great because that is the clearest feed thus far this afternoon.
  23. So I take it that the schools in Maryland and Virginia can't afford ice and skates.
  24. Another example of how the NCAA does a pi$$ poor job of marketing hockey. If they found a way to make these playoff hockey games available to Canadians they would double their viewers.
  25. Looks like Gwoz didn't do a good job of preparing them for a game on the big ice surface.
